  1. 1) Well since you didn't just tell us what 3D means and since there was no X I will assume natural and pass 2) Need my guessing shoes since partner could have bid 5♣ hoping to jack up the opponents and not sure we aren't 3 off at 6♣ so I will pass. 3) pass ...chances for game look too bad at the moment. 4) 3♠ if partner has LR values I will get to game 5) X and pass 4♥ 6) clearly partner had a penalty pass of 1♥ but do I have enough defense well tossup between pass and 3♦ I will pass.
  2. 1NT seems clear unless in NFBland that is an overbid :D
  3. No blame at all to the person who made a 1♥ overcall on ♠Ax ♥Jxxxxx ♦Jxxxx ♣-? What other call do you suggest? 2NT comes to mind. 1♥ has shades of trying to mastermind the auction
  4. No blame at all to the person who made a 1♥ overcall on ♠Ax ♥Jxxxxx ♦Jxxxx ♣-? WHAT????? And warn partner??
  5. 4♠ is clear and you sell out to 5♥. However 6♠ if they get to 6♥
  6. you only have 3 tricks on defense and a license to steal. Be a thief
  7. What suit are you expecting to play in if not ♠? Since you have LR strength why not follow the "support with support" principle and get the hand off your chest.
  8. looks like pretty much a guess. Declarer probably has the ♠A and ♣K so I would try the ♣
  9. pass and let partner make a reopening double. a -X ought to show at a minimum either 34 or 43 in the majors to avoid the temptation to make a -X with this hand altho I would rather stick my hand on a hot frying pan.
  10. IMO just unlucky. Also I would not have opened 2♣ as this is not enough tricks for a minor suited 2♣ bid
  11. With opening hand strength and 3 card support for the non ♠ suits I make a TOX otherwise I overcall 2♦
  12. I thought in the auction the 2♠ call implied a limit raise fit with the minor suit bid by the 1♥ opener. Sigh. How about you reread the thread? No it was too verbose to start with. So I will surrender and no longer respond to any posts on this thread.

  14. So next time pd will have her balanced 15 count. Great pass, Ken! You just lost that partner. for good. I don't bid 1NT forcing with a balanced 15-count. I might bid 2♣, but not 1NT. I don't buy this idea of stacking on top of forcing 1NT bids. Why? You cannot then pass garbage like this (or worse). It would be much easier if you just stated that you play a semi forcing NT True. Except, that term is retarded. What is retarded about it? It is a common agreement among lite openers.
  15. maybe it sounds like one because IT IS ONE :) What other meaning makes sense....natural?
  16. This looks very good when partner bids 5H but surely it's just a ton more likely that he will bid 5D rather than 5H. Partner shouldn't move without some values not sure 5♥would even be correct over the X.
  17. What is the strongest hand you could have to rebid 2♣ in this auction? and does 3NT (or I guess 5C) have reasonable chances opposite it? If the answer to the second question is yes then that is the justification. No it is not (assuming you are talking about about the 2♦ rebid). You would need to take hands that rebid 2♦ and pass 2♥, and still you would have to compare it with hands where any contracts beyond 2♥ is going down. no I was talking about the auction 1♥-1NTF: 2♣. In the other auction I agree it is best to bail out at 2♥ (i.e. over a 2♦ rebid)
  18. 1) in the 1C-(X)-3D auction the value of the splinter is reduced as the game chance have been impacted by the X. So better used as PJS 2) 1m-(1NT)-2m is best used as preemptive since an IM strength hand should probably be doubling 1NT 3) your partner's usage is probably as good as any

  20. sounds like the start of a wild auction :D
  21. six four bid some more ...2♠ to be exact

where is the auction? You need to provide it since it is important to know what information you gave the opponents and when the 3♥ preempt occurred altho I assume if was the opening call.
  23. assuming a 15-17 NT I am not running. With a weak NT I will bid or get partner to bid 2♦
  24. I would just pass at this stage note that partner did not make a 2♥ call so a ♥ contract could really be ugly.
