  1. clik on the "myBBO" button this produces a dropdown menu. Choose "user profile" in the window that is produced select "show profile". This should produce the data under "statistics"
  2. strikes me as weird as "dar" literally translates for me as "give" So I would assume you were the teacher. Of course you are the native speaker of Castillian and I cannot come up with words for take lessons ("tome clase" ???)
  3. I am not sure why you are surprised I suppose Frisian has the same tendency as it arrived in the British Isles somewhere between the 5th and 8th century and comprises a large portion if not a majority of the English language.
  4. 1♦ (P) 4♥ (4♠) 6♣ (P) 6♦ (P) P (6♠) X all pass
  5. for the given colors I would prefer 3♦>X. However if the colors were = or reversed I would probably X > 3♦
  6. who or what is jlall. Did he or she used to post here?
  7. It is really hard for me to get too worked up over this. I probably care more that my kid is stacking the deck while playing war :) . So let me ask you. How much money has this cost you? If you don't feel that the opps are pretty pathetic doing this how much ego has this really cost you?
  8. it is not a malfunction!! It is an option for when you are dummy that I prefer to turnoff so I am more unlikely to second guess partner's play. Still it is a good thing that monitor glass is highly scream resistant [i play with a lot of pickup pards] and none of the loud YFI's has broken my screen yet :)
  9. well 3♠ or 4♠ immediately comes to mind
  10. 1) North ...forgot the colors? 2) North for opening 1♣; South for not raising 4♣ to 5
  11. 0.5 for the T; 0.5 for the two 9s; 1 for the doubleton; and the other 4 are HCP :) :)
  12. Well the first hand is probably odds on to make 5♠ and the second one is certainly a big favorite to make 5♣ but as I interpret the comments here you are not allowed to open 2♣ with either (not that you necessarily would)
  13. there are plus %ages for the opps screwing up the opening lead but that is an uncalculable intangible
  14. It was a bootstrap calculation. The odds of partner having one of the necessary aces is 55%. The probability you can bring in ♣ for no losers is pretty high say 80%. The product of the two gets to 44%
  15. presummably partner is holding ♠2 ♥65432 ♦432 ♣9862 if you pass and ♠32 ♥65432 ♦65432 ♣2 if you bid :)
  16. the EBU regulations can be silly if carried to the extreme. 1st example ♠AKT9876543 ♥x ♦x ♣x Now if partner has a void the most common division is 2-1 the second most common is 3-0 2nd example ♠void ♥x ♦x ♣AQJT9876543 Now if partner has a void the most common division is 1-1 the second most common is 2-0 of course it is nearing 50% that you can make 6 but you can't open 2♣ [of course you may not want to do it]
  17. 1) X ...better to search for a game in the majors rather than ♦, more targets less tricks 2) 2♦ ...2♠ would be forcing for me so I will just simply show support
  18. If you think the defense is going to set up another ♦ for you why don't you just play ♥ from your hand?
  19. surely this definition will change as there will be people out there who don't play 10 tournaments a month but have been using BBO for years. So what happens if someone goes on a hiatus of 30 days do they instantly become newbys? I would think not!
  20. Well I know what a HUM is but BSC threw for a loop. Probably not a problem but need to know what it is to comply.
  21. while I agree with the X being preferential to 1♠ and an advocate for 4 card overcalls at the one level I cannot find too much fault with 1♠. Getting a 5-0 trump break is mostly just bad luck.
  22. looking for another pair. While I intend to play primarily with Oldokie we may need an extra player to sub if he cannot make one of the matches. I need to get him over the 25 post limit.
  23. I am surprised that Fred has not made it clear that a new member is a time-based rather than number-of-tournments-played based decision. Perhaps he thinks that is implicit in the description i.e. "new" means just fell off the turnip truck.
  24. modify your rules for using stayman and transfers when the combined assests exceed 27 HCH
