If you have an agreement to open any 11 then 1♥. The problem is not this hand it is the system required to handle weak opening like this and the discipline required to stay in system. Consequently this is an auto pass for me with any pickup and anyone who insists on 2/1.

why are you answering this near 6 year old post now. Is the OP still a member of BBO? Hopefully they have integrated rule of 11 (etc) into their subconcious and the correct play is automatic both my declarer and East.

IMO this needs to be reported to BBO as abuse of the TD rights and permissions. Clearly the TD has no clue about the rules of bridge and BBO needs to inform him of same and warn him that TD rights are revokeable.

I think we need to run a simul here to convince ourselves that 3♥ or 3♠ is an underbid. If you swap your ♥ and ♣ and open the bidding with 1♣ and partner bid an uncontested 1♠ would you not at least consider a 4♣ call?
