It would get more usage if it was even close to user friendly. It doesn't even save your changes in a user friendly manner.

Yes there is an extra card. If you had to guess given the bidding and the hand strength would you think it was a ♥ or a ♦. How would you then bid this hand in expectation of a 1♠ response to your minor opening bid? The choices look to be a rebid of 2♦, 2♥ or 3♣ and as a last weird possibility 2NT?!
-
Why on earth would you presume that? Haha, imagine opener's frown looking at KQJT of diamonds and being unable to double. I must have missed the part in the OP's post where he said the opps were stupid So they are stupid to bid this way missing KQJT but not missing AKx? Aha. You may defend your opinion as long as you wish but I think you are not mainstream. Actually I guess you are not just not mainstream, but in a minority of one- maybe two if your partner plays the same funny stuff. Just so I am clear, are you saying it is nonstandard to use X and a forcing pass to deny/show a diamond control when the opps have interrupted a strong auction with slam overtones by preempting to the 5 or 6 level where we are in doubt as to whether we belong in slam because we lack a diamond contol? Or are you saying that I am overreaching that agreement on this hand? I assume the latter is what you mean and yes gnasher's suggestion has much merit for a standard FP situation. Altho I think the standard FP is not encouraging but rather semi-encouraging and shows doubt about the correct action to take. Wouldn't I want to X if I for instance held[hv=s=sjxxhakjxxdxxckxx]133|100|[/hv]

Yes..100% pard's fault. I note that I don't care to splinter here with the stiff ace. funny I keep overlooking that since it isn't capitalized but I still remember to count it for 4♥ bid :P
-
presumably the X of 6♦ denied first or second round control of ♦ and since the ♥s and ♣s rate to be well placed take a shot at 6♥

At least it is not worse than mocking forum posters :P Damn I must be failing at that I haven't gotten any recent complaints....Wait JDonn has alternating concentric red and white circles painted on his center...Bummer of a birth mark if you are a deer. :) :)

RHO is holding [hv=s=s8h3d742cakqj8632]133|100|[/hv] and hearing the auction start with LHO's 1NT and partner's pass can you guess RHO's table bid and the justification for it? the bid and why

3♠ is an alternative call but no enough to absolve responder

and a free dinner as well but not a free breakfast as you should have limits with someone trying to foist blame on you for this :D

sounds like a story involving a caviar sandwich. :D

Expert Bridge Complicated
pooltuna replied to dburn's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
I think the layout implies that North holds the doubleton with South realing off the winners. I would be glad to help if I could but the psychologic aspects of some the card play is an area of weakness so I will be watching with interest. -
Responding to Weak 2 Hearts
pooltuna replied to Grommet1's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Well I see the automatic transfer bid is the choice of the majority which looks IMO suicidal as our defense rates to really suck. I would try anything that might keep the opps out of 4♠ and that includes giving them plenty of leeway to play in 3♠. The best choice of call for that looks like 2NT which leaves the minors open to them but eliminates 2♠ as an option. -
seems simple enough I play the 3♣ :)
-
No you can't! 5 hearts and 10 points is a lot different than 6 hearts and 6 points! What do you want to do, pass? Sorry if I'm being dumb but I refuse and I hate it. Yep I'm perfectly happy passing, guess that's where we differ. I do strongly strongly strongly believe you cannot bid 2H with this though. Not saying I'm right necessarily, that's just my belief. The problem I see with X is that you may be making a penalty pass by partner untenable as your -X range is expanding downward too much. And any NFB is already choking partner and will make supporting even harder to justify.
-
Amen... I think the quote that applies is "play for the best result possible and not the best possible result" :)
-
This is totally ridiculous. North attempted to make a call that is totally forbidden in the BBO fora, an OMG PENALTY double. He should have known that all direct suits doubles are take out and he must pass and wait for a protection double from the passout seat which seldom comes :)
-
IMO this is already a limit raise :)
-
IMO t :) his is already a limit raise and consequently has already bid 3♥
-
I assume you are playing constructive raises and consequently all meanings must be taken in that context. I also presume you are reasonably LOTT influenced and as a result hold 4♥. Therefore I am left with 3♦ possibly showing shortness, ♦ values, or possibly in an U/U way showing ♠ values. Overall I think the hand should have undergone positional improvement and that can come only from the minor suits. So I would expect something like [hv=s=saxxhtxxxdkjxxcxx]133|100|[/hv]
-
since you are forbidden to make the obv call, 1♦ :)
-
er...No, Thank You....can you loan me a green card I think the previous occupant burned all mine ...he must have thought he didn't need many
-
1) 3♥ is forcing right 2) 4♥ 3) 3♠ should be a qbid right
-
and that is essentially 50%,no?
