You need something that activates that organ at the very top of your body. Generally caffeine based products work well. In the first hand you would have realized that 3♣ was actually a qbid of some sort [probably u/u] and yet the opps stopped short of game. Had said organ been operating you would have realized that you were stepping off the curb and running in front of a speeding bus. On the second hand you might have given some weight to the LOTT violation you were about to commit esp w 4 probable defensive tricks in your hand.

Your partner violated an important agreement and consequently created a sense of mistrust in similar auctions in the future. my personal meta agreement is no positive responses in 4 card suits and for the minors it takes a 6 card suit or outstanding top cards in a 5 card suit. you never mentioned all your agreements in 2♣ auctions but presumably 2♦ would have been waiting and probably is your best choice for proceeding altho some agreements for the meaning of 2 and 3 NT could be reached. Certainly if I made an agreement for 3NT one condition would be slam forcing.

well now that we know that we are actually NV you want to maximize the pressure on the opps and if necessary sell out for a partscore as things may be breaking well for the opps

Be very aware of how exposed you are when you are V vs NV. This translates into very good 2 level minor suit overcalls and very sound preemptive bids...i.e. you open 2♠ you better be able to take 6 tricks in your hand ...i.e. [hv=s=skqjt9xhxxdxcqjtx]133|100|[/hv] and this is a minimum holding
