2♠ because it is forcing and partner probably should realize that I have an unbalanced hand as I was unable to bid NT. Mainly I am unsure what is the correct strain and level at this point and need more information from partner we could be playing anywhere from 4♥ to 7♥ and that does not exclude minor strains in that range
2♠ is 100% forcing even in SAYC. You will find that most play this as an unbalanced hand with 5+♦ and 4+♠ with ♦>♠ NMF context DNA 3♣ is forcing even in SAYC generally speaking this auction is GFing once you reach 3♣ even by extremely light openers
Forcing? It seems to waste a lot of bidding space and appears to duplicate a qbid in this situation. In your example hand what is 3♥ or 4♥ instead of 2♥? What bidding space is wasted? And since when would a cuebid there show hearts? I'm confused. what is wasted is a use for (1♣) X (1♦) 1♠; (P) 3♥ or 4♥. Essentially 1♠ is at best a minimal non forcing response so you need to create degrees of meaning with your other available calls
the opener is limited...He did not make a game forcing initial call. Now please tell me what keeps responder from having a hand which would make a game forcing initial call and is probably better placed to determine the final contract. What I'm saying is ...opening the bidding doesn't automatically make you captain

either 3NT or 4♥ could be right. Basically looks like a blind guess to me. Maybe Justin and Helene could enumerate why their choice is better than the other.
Normally the director verifies the claim and assigns a score altho I think he should have the perogative to change the rejecors score for the hand to 0. Now I just need to think up a good IMPS penalty score B)
same opening lead and continuation? I assume not so win the offsuit lead in my hand and lead towards the Q planning on finessing the T after the Q holds
depends on what 3♠ was if it was a negative free bid (nfb) like dealer: ????? vul: ???? scoring: unknown]133|100|Scoring: IMP ♠ KQJTxx ♥ xx ♦ Kxx ♣ xx [/hv] or an NFB where partner thinks it is more important to show his suit like[hv=d=s&s=saxxxhakj9xdxxcxx depends on what 3♠ was if it was a negative free bid (nfb) like dealer: ????? vul: ???? scoring: unknown]133|100|Scoring: IMP ♠ KQJTxx ♥ xx ♦ Kxx ♣ xx [/hv] Then you are just paying the price for using NFBs (i.e. you are screwed) B) Otherwise I have no problem with 5♠
Yep I find it irritating but nevertheless claim as soon as I am sure exactly how many tricks I think[never claimed to be perfect] I am going to take. When rejected I never reclaim figuring it is their turn to claim. Another item that gets me piqued are those who never claim when they know how many tricks they are taking. When in fourth seat for the last trick I normally wait until it is my turn to play before conceding it using the claim system; anything to extract one more click out of the SOB who wouldn't claim. ;)
