I wouldn't consider it a reasonable bid against human beings in against vulnerabity- any other vul- fine. The singleton queen is not working HCP so its a marginal. Its got to be a good opening hand with 7 hearts in against vul.
I saw this on some vugraph [hv=pc=n&s=sa8h92dk75cak8764&n=s765haqjt4dqjt6c5&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1hp2c(GF)p2dp3cp3s(cover%20ask)p3nppp]266|200[/hv] It proved to have no chance as East as has 5 spades and nearly all the remaining HCP (only 2 hearts) but still its a poor contract to end in with that bidding. 4♥ while marginal at least has some chance so North has say he has/imply that he has 6 hearts at some point.
Splinter because 5 HCP outside of spades isn't much. Partner needs at least 11 including two aces to make slam work. Save unusual for real strength outside of the trump suit where you don't need to worry about opponents interfering (because its risky).
To post the hand (at least one way) Go to http://www.bridgebase.com/myhands Find the hand in question Copy the link See the link icon on the right of the smiley face in forum post topic form. Click it and paste the link in the upper box and fill in the description in the lower box and close.

Click it and paste the link in the upper box and fill in the description in the lower box and close. Proably another way. How do you do it with a tiny url?- there is the Hand Editor {spade symbol} (which is annoying) to fill in total hands and bidding and play. Found your bidding
On the other hand, North does have a bit more than a minimum 1NT overcall, whether it should pushing on to 5D or trying for 3NT is better logic call. If the K♦ was onside and not too well defended then 3NT was reasonable contract.
2 trumps won't take out much of opponents trumps and partners bidding doesn't suggest more than 3 trumps. Why didn't we listen to partner's signal to lead another spade? The choice can only be to lead spade or club.
6 ♣ won't make as North doesn't have enough ruffing strength to ruff both diamonds and hearts and South can't setup more than the K♠ so one diamond loser is unavoidable.
You have to say that North's hand (without any aces) isn't exciting for playing in clubs. Its a amazing good GIB judgement to prefer 3NT over a club contract especially with no support for initally bid good quality but not great quality suit (so it can't be set up).
