    I think AQ xx xx KJxxxxx should balance 3♣ and then pass 3♦. But for the other 99.9% of hands that I have when I balance 3♣, 3♦ is forcing.

    1) Agree with jdonn's sequence. 2) For a slam, the 4-4 fit is better than the 5-4 fit VERY frequently (majority?).
