GWN i had lots of hands where GIB makes idiot plays when he has the contract beat in his own hand. EG. dummy has Jxxx♥ GIB has AKtx♥ you lead small GIB wins T♥gets in later with A♠then blocks ♥ or crashes your Qxx♥by playing AK♥. when those happen I just shake my head, if there was a simulaton for beating 2 dont care beating 1 is better then letting them make 3NT

even better is passing 1NT undoubled

Bridge is bridge no matter how they try to regulate it with rules alot of people would open 2♣ I opened 2♣ with ♠Q ♥AKJT98 ♦VOID ♣KQJT98 pretty similar and I was told I was wrong, but I felt I had pretty close to 9-10 trickes regardless of what someone else may feel

I dont think they panicked East just made a bad bid of bidding 2♣s instead of passing 1NT

I would have bid 2♣ originally would rather bid my 5 card nothing suit problem would be what to bid if partner bids 2♥ after my 2♣

Steve thanks you had me worried. I ran a simulator and it took 5 hours to come up with 200 hands and 95% of the time 4!s makes the real question is what would you do over 5!D

I understand that, but in 15 plays 12 other gibs didnt have a problem without partner bidding anything other than raising spades. if gibs partner shows 6 hearts and 3 spades the odds are greatly increased especially with 11 card fit my point is what helps partner the most, you have already shown three card support, bidding Three spades over three clubs doesnt give any extra info to partner.

had a hand where I raised GIB from 1 Spade to 2Spades my left hand doubled partner passed righty bid 3 clubs I bid 3 Hearts which showed 6 card suit and 6-10 points left bid 4 Diamonds GIB passed holding 8 spades Hx in hearts? dont know if this is a bug or just random[hv=pc=n&s=sj85hk75432d2ckt3&n=saqt76432hq6d65ca&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1sp2sdp3c3h4dppp]266|200[/hv]

i was curious that something had been done cause I havent been kicking GIBS ass lately, I just rent them by the week....but there are bids that seem to make me go crazy at times.

Solitaire games are good, just not comparisons. Actually what I enjoy is just going to the bidding room and bidding a lot of hands in a short period of time you can undo your bids to see what GIB will do if you make a different call.....what you learn is you have to have what the Gib EXPLANATION says your bid is, cause GIB doesn't like deviations.

the original gib would allow different systems I cant even get real bridge players (club players) to be consistent it takes a lot of time to get used to what GIB does and doesn't do well it has been a work in progress but still it works

I have been getting the same results with dds ver 11.81 error in download file no deals found saves the bbo.htm temporarlly but cant make the connection to make the sql file I am using windows 10 any one else having this problem? I can still use earlier versions and save as pbn then open it in ver 11.81

Does Double Dummy Solver from bridge captain site still work?? I havent been able to download and make sql file from BBO using DDS

Ok I wondered when I saw the first day in the bulletin they showed places down to 300 for the section. so this was a mistake then? Actually I think that is how they should have done it IMHO.

is there a script that one can use to show bid explanations? I have used chat assistant and alert helper to be able to show short club, transfer etc. Is this the only programs out there. thanks
