best thing to do is just hide the Chat window, then you will never no what they think of your so called bad plays. Its just as annoying as someone saying nice play partner when you make your bid but should have made 2 overtricks. its part of the learning process!
-
it would be good to just have a good program
-
eventually the bugs get worked out but slowly.....about 9 yrs ago the bug in the play was if you had a 2 way finnesee for a Q GiB would always cover a honor so there was no guess, until they remedied that.
-
doesnt matter if best hand or not the bots can be abused Personally there should be a way that a player can be barred for capricious bidding. though most people dont look at other results. A recorder button where an operator could look at the board in question and make a ruling on it.

I ran one a couple weeks ago and kept modding the upper limit till i got to around 70 probably the default setting so you have to go ahead and modify it

damn the constraints dealer in the old program was so nice for generating deals, none of this malarkey

agree with mycroft on this, its a pass no source of tricks if partner is broke and most likely partner has no hand and 5 crappy spades. NOTE: and it might also depend on what my 13th card is as I am 2352! also if partner had weakish hand with 4 diamonds he could bid 2♦. the lack of negative double eliminates alot of hands partner could have. so it looks like let them play 1♥ if i had Kxx♠ might make spades playable but chances are you could end up at 2 level

used to play it with 4 card majors back in late 70's and 80's. we played with 10-13 NT and forcing and non forcing stayman and the usual 5 card weak twos.

Some questions regarding daylongs.
pigpenz replied to jardaholy's topic in BBO Tournaments Discussion
does just bidding 5♠ help at all, it used to be that shows 2 quick losers in that suit, but GIB has a hard time with normal things -
support@bridgebase.com i think

compared with other versions of BBO, its still junk...sorry that my opinion. all the good things for teaching have been taken out

Inverted minor with 4cM
pigpenz replied to jillybean's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I have played it that way with one of my partners and it really isnt a problem, automatically sets up a game forcing situation. we play jump in other minor shows limit raise 9-10hcp....new suits after forcing raise are 4 card majors check back style. -
it took me awhile but recognized some of the hands LOL

so in the ACBL games online what will a director rule if called when someone opens 1NT witha singleton X, not AKQ? On Nicolas's data there is one player who has done this 30 times! But of course Leo has done this for years with ACBL BOTs but they never seem to call the TD :(
-
you just learn to deal with it, if you shade your bids they will get you whether or not you do....like mycroft said they are probably better than 80% of the players.

I am not an ACBL employee or do i represent them. I used to be a District Recorder. These are hands that were culled out by his software to find 1NT openings in acbl games that were done with a singleton non AKorQ. It may also include deficit point also. But it DOES NOT REPRESENT what Nicolas Hammond thinks it only shows what his software was able to dig out of the acbl bbo online data. Originally when his project started was the amount of people who underlead Aces in suit contracts. It was very interesting that some pairs might have 40-60 hands where they did this out of 1000 hands. and had a success rate that was way too hight. Iknow I used DDS to check out hands by Jeff Meckstroth and in 1 month he had 1200 hands and only underlead an ace once against a suit contract. So its all about taking the available data and looking at it. could only find this link http://web2.acbl.org/documentLibrary/laws/LCSFM2019.pdf if appears that there is a regulation but no remedy had been stipulated...it comes up in #5....maybe they have updated it but i couldnt find it anymore.
-
it is not an ACBL linke but data culled by Nicolas Hammond's software for detecting cheating here is the link to the statistics, just look in illegal nt openings. https://www.detectingcheatinginbridge.com/statistics/index.html
-
Nicolas Hammond has listed all the illegal NT openings by players for acbl games. this was done when he was running scripts for alleged cheating.
-
i had posted about this before....I found when I subbed in acbl tournies since most time it was only for a board or 2 after a week i could no longer get into the TCR tournies....so I assume if you sub and get removed when original player comes back that it counts against you.

Barry Crane was a firm believer in the Laws of Symmetry
-
1 nt shows your hand, you still have a partner that can deliver to your contract or aid in your defense just throwing this hand into a simulator with 1000 hands and other three hands with no contraints, 1NT is 70% to make

getting tossed from INDY for calling TD
pigpenz replied to pigpenz's topic in BBO Tournament Directors Forum
looked at this persons score for this event for 6 boards it was 4%, so why would bbo want this type of person to be there....now i see why people post more on bridge winners than here, sorry -
