yes i understand all this, I have been into computers and internet related things for 30 yrs. We live in Northern California not that far from Las Vegas, is that where their servers are?if not the servers must be in Turkey cause the majority of people who get logged into a game even before it appears on my browsers are from there! just my observation or the servers are all routed through Europe first

why is there such a lag time, is it dependent on the browser, the OS, or just BBO in general. You can try and log on to a tourney with spaces open and minute showing but it say error, or you can wait for a BBO indy to be posted and when it shows up with 9 minutes till game time its all ready filled up. I have noticed this several times in the past few months. question....does one have to keep hitting refresh or back out of the listing box to start over again. you tell me its your site??

what was the auction? if north bid 3♣ there would be all the reason in the world to play it this way. the normal C for opps would be 5579, so if north bids 3♣ it makes it more likely that south would have 4 spades....look at Mckinnons book on bridge probablities.

i have gone back to using Alert Helper it works fine you just need to place cursor in alert box click on bidding definitions in it and click and it places....so that still works

in indies its bad enough to get a complete novice, but for me GIB is just as bad if not worse. the worst thing in indies noone ever looks at the card or it would be nice if people could click a bid to see what it will mean before they do it but Barry (barmar) says it doesnt matter so we place this stupid game all the time. is there a way to fix claims in indies, where opps wont accept your claims and then you get booted cause you time out? there should be a way for you to get added back to tourney cause opps arent sure of what they are doing, but what else is new in the indies :)

generally is has always been acceptable to bid stayman on a 4441 hand or 4351 hand where you pass all responses, it has to be better play a suit contract than 1NT when you have a zero count. Teds World bridge site has run simulations on this that is play almost 1 trick better than trying to gut it out in 1NT

I like using mss 2♠ if partner denies 4 card minor you can show singleton now or you can play system where you bid shortness over 1nt immediately implying 55minors with singleton in suit you bid at the 3 level
