  1. [hv=pc=n&s=sqj43hat932dk7cak&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1n4n]133|200[/hv] 1NT is 12-14 4NT shows a very distributional hand with the minors. What do you do here? The vulnerability is wrong in the diagram, you're red on white.
  2. Here's a better example: [hv=pc=n&s=s5hdk43ct9&w=shkjdaqj8c&n=s3haqd976c&e=sakhdt5cak]399|300[/hv] Hearts are again trump and south needs three tricks. South leads a club. If west ruffs, discard a spade and west is forced to lead a trump. Win and cash the other trump, discarding a spade. If west discards ♦8, play a low diamond from both hands and make your king eventually. If west discards ♦Q or J, lead the ♦7. East must cover or you run it to the 8, eventually making your king. Cover the ten with the king and west must lead from his ♦J8 or ♦Q8 into dummy's ♦97. If west discards either the diamond 8 or the diamond J/Q, ruff with the queen, cash the ♥A, and proceed as before.
  3. The point is to find a solution that makes against both distributions.
  4. [hv=pc=n&s=shdq83c96&w=sh2dkjt5c&n=sh3da642c&e=sakhd9caq]399|300[/hv] South is on lead with hearts trumps and he needs 3 tricks. South leads a club and west is sunk. If he ruffs, north over-ruffs and plays a diamond to the queen. West wins and returns a high diamond, ducked (south unblocks the 8), and is endplayed. If west instead discards a low diamond, north ruffs and plays a low diamond from both hands. West must win and lead away from his KJ after taking his trump. If the ♦T or J is thrown instead, north plays a low diamond to the queen. West wins and must again lead into the diamond tenace after taking his trump. Would this be classified as a regular one suited squeeze?

  6. # was really easy too. First one I actually got wrong was #35, played for the wrong squeeze. Then #36 stumped me, a lot harder than I thought.
  7. Checking it out now, I will edit in what I think later. Deal # was easier than I expected.
  8. Would you super-accept with a transfer to hearts with ♠KT9 ♥QJTx ♦AKTx ♣Kx? What if you turn a small diamond into the jack?
  9. Well, I have finally found a poster on here that is more crazy than I am. Excellent.
  10. Well, I ran 3-4 simulations giving north a balanced 20-21 with <4 clubs and 3 hearts and south with a 8-10 HCP 0-6-3-4 or 0-6-4-3. This creates the same auction on all of them Good slams were missed on these cards: [hv=pc=n&s=shakqt74d985cjt86&n=sakjh963dakt4ckq5]133|200[/hv] [hv=pc=n&s=shqt8642dqt7caj74&n=skt8hak5dak96ck95]133|200[/hv] [hv=pc=n&s=shkjt532dq97ckt98&n=sakq8hq64daj64ca7]133|200[/hv] The other hand was a 50% slam.
  11. [hv=pc=n&s=sak2h7daca95&w=st876hd65cj6&n=shdt973ck872&e=sqjhdkjcqt43]399|300[/hv] South is on lead and needs 7 more tricks. He starts with the good heart. West discards a spade and north discards a diamond, but east has to find a discard. A diamond concedes the rest of the tricks and is obviously no good. 1. If east throws a spade, play the ace of spades and a low spade away from the king, throwing a diamond and a club from dummy. East has to part with a club now. No matter what west exits, the ♠K squeezes east in the minors. 2. If east discards a club, play the ace of clubs and a low club, ducking the king. Now the clubs are established.
  12. Win, play the jack of hearts which west covers, and duck! Say he returns a diamond. Win, cross to dummy with a low club to the jack, cash ♥AK discarding a diamond, and ruff a diamond. Exit a low trump and finesse against west. East wins (best play, otherwise he sacrifices a potential trump trick). If he now cashes the ♠K he's endplayed, so say he plays a low trump. Win the queen and play the good heart. [hv=pc=n&s=s86hdcq9&w=sh5dtck8&n=sh6dca42&e=sk7hdct7]399|300[/hv] If east discards, discard a club and cash the ace of clubs before playing another, cashing east in a trump coup. If east ruffs low, over-ruff and exit another trump, endplaying east.
  13. Bidding went 1♥ - 1♠ - P - 2♣* AP, partner had ♠Jxxxx ♥Qxx ♦Q ♣xxxx and you get +90 If I opened 2♦ LHO overcalls 2♥, all pass for -140ish. If I pass the bidding goes 1♥ - P - 1NT - P or 2♦ - 2♥ AP for, again, -140
  14. This was a sanity check, I also opened 1♦.
  15. Sort of. I was dummy and east held ♠T9xx ♥6 ♦Jxxx ♣Qxxx, so the contract is technically unmakable. Partner ran his three heart winners and east didn't want to discard his spades in case declarer had AKQx of spades, so he discarded 2 clubs and a spade. Unfortunately, partner still misplayed it for down two.
  16. I'll wait for my partner to lead out of turn; failing that I'll lead ♠T
  17. this hand makes me hate, hate kings. I pass
  18. [hv=pc=n&n=sa4hqj42dqt9632cq]133|100[/hv] First seat, none vulnerable.
  19. That explains why I am so aggressive :P
  20. [hv=pc=n&s=sqt73hkt93dq93cq6&n=skj6h2dajt6ckt853&d=e&v=0&b=14&a=1hp1n2c2h3cppp]266|200[/hv] Lead is a low heart. Whether you like it or not, you insert the 9 and it loses to the queen. The ♥8 comes back.
  21. [hv=pc=n&w=sq943hqjt97dq5cqt&e=sha2dakjt863caj62]266|100[/hv] Random deal on BBO. East deals, all vulnerable. If possible, south bids 1♠, and if south bids 1♠, north bids 3♠.
