  1. North made a huge blunder by bidding no-trump instead of partner's suit with 3-card support and a singleton in the fourth suit.
  2. Edit: Disregard this post. Upon further inspection, there is a simpler line that doesn't involve a double squeeze. How disappointing :(
  3. edit: Why was this posted twice??
  4. Darn! I knew I missed something. :(
  5. Create an end position that follows the following restrictions: -All high cards, jack through ace, in each suit are used. -N/S can win all of the tricks except one in no-trump. -N/S can not win all of the tricks except one in any suit. In addition, minimize the N/S HCP. Here's an example: [hv=pc=n&s=shqdak4ca54&w=skjthkjdc62&n=saq3hat2dc3&e=s4hdqj3ckqj]399|300[/hv] N/S has 5 top tricks. In no trumps, cash ♦A and ♣A, discarding a heart. Now lead the ♦K pitching a spade. If west pitches a spade, play a heart to the ace and concede a heart. If west throws a heart, you have an extra heart winner. If the end position is in any suit except diamonds, you have 2 unavoidable losers, and in diamonds, if you try the same squeeze east ruffs when you play a heart, or if you play ♦AKx, east returns a spade! and you have to lose a heart at the end.
  6. Isn't south a perfect 2♦ opener with your system? :P http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/64559-introducing-a-new-convention-lee-two-diamonds/ 1♣ - 2♦ 3♦ - 3♠ 4♣ - 5♣ 5♠ - 6♦ 7♦ 1♣ = Precision 2♦ = Natural, positive 3♦ = Trump-asking bid 3♠ = 5 to one top honor 4♣ = asks 5♣ = AQ or AK of clubs 5♠ = asks 6♦ = 2nd round control of spades 7♦ = Would have to be very unlucky to not have 13 tricks.
  7. 1. Duck, if he returns a heart/club I play ♦A next, if he returns a spade, low from east, he probably has ♦KQx and I finesse the diamond. If he returns a spade to the king, not sure how I play the diamonds yet. 2. ...Cover?
  8. posting straight from BBO makes me double-post :(
  9. If undiscussed with a strong partner, probably the picture bid. If undiscussed with a weaker partner, splinter for sure.
  10. East shows out on the first trump but you catch his stiff king of spades. West has 4-5-2-2 so after cashing AK of both minors and finessing the heart twice, you come down to [hv=pc=n&s=sqjxhatdc&w=st98hqxdc&n=sxxxhdxcx&e=shdc]399|300[/hv] Cash the ♠QJ and play another. West must win and return a heart into the AT. If west covers the first heart, win, return to hand and play a low trump towards the J7, finessing against the 8, and concede a spade later.
  11. [hv=pc=n&s=sakqjt2hkjdak6ca2&n=s43ha9862d975ck83]133|200[/hv] South is in 7♠ on the ♦Q lead.
  12. Precision: 1♣ - 1NT 2♦ - 3♣ 3♥ - 3NT 4♥ - 4♠ 7♦ 1♣ = 15+ 1NT = 8-13 balanced 2♦ = natural 3♣ = support, 4 controls 3♥ = asks 3NT = third round control in ♥ 4♥ = asks 4♠ = doubleton heart If I wanted to get more scientific, it could go 1♣ - 1NT 2♦ - 3♣ 3♠ - 4♠ 5♥ - 5NT 6♥ - 6♠ 7♦ 1♣ = 15+ 1NT = 8-13 balanced 2♦ = natural 3♣ = support, 4 controls 3♠ = asks 4♠ = AK or AQ of ♠ 5♥ = asks 5NT = 3rd round control 6♥ = asks 6♠ = doubleton heart 7♦ = could be only 12 tricks in NT although it might be worth trying at matchpoints
  13. Is pass actually forcing here? I double.
  14. Oh, it's IMPs? Pass. Matchpoints, I bid 2♦.
  15. I bid 6♥ at the table, which was followed by 3 passes. [hv=pc=n&s=sqj43hat932dk7cak&n=sa652hkj7da62c642]133|200[/hv] West leads the ♦8.
  16. 6NT makes. And the other two slams not making are a result of having an unavoidable spade and an additional trump loser no matter which of the major suits are trump. Has nothing to do with major suit entries <_<
