Hi, Have a new username for marathon tourneys, first tourney is already in the list, starting with 20 baords, 2 baords a round.(in time and when things work out we will move to longer event) Wont spend too much time on subbing issue, once disconnect is out, im working off my friendslist, so will be asking every one that wants to sign up if they can stay for the whole 3 hours, to have a break , all that is needed is that on one table in lets say round five the last card isnt played so that everybody can have their break( including me:D). Stayers more then welcome, i am not going to choice for survivor because i dont want to punisch an innocent pair that maybe gets discarded because of another pair, in time i guess the bad apples will be kept out and we more towards a staying field. Aldougb the % DJNeil is showing i ll try this, maybe will regret it, maybe not.Ill start with a max. of 20 tables so 40 pairs to keep things manageble, its long for me too and i dont want 1131463 tdcalls a round like im used too. Hi, Im thinking of trying/doing a longer then we used to tourney on bbo, but i fear i gonna be more beeing busy with subs then actually direct. Major fear is that since most dont read rules and just sign up and play till they had enough not much pairs that start going to finisch. Shoud i be working off a list? making this a regular thing i liked to see regular pairs liking this format be playing but hard to say no in front to ppl before i can tell they are stayers or not. Hi, jt and others, its kinda claer that some players/forumusers have a love/hate relation with directors. Many times i ve seen a legit complaint from a player coming to seek support on the forum, several bbo users only discoverd bboforum after a bad call from a td. I understand where the"heads chewed off" mentality is coming from cause most users here have a long list of tds in wich tourneys they never play again even if . Example today, played a tourney, i asked for adjust to A== because only one card was played, td asked me what table i played???? i explained him no longer needed and where faeture was, 3 baords later i clicked on tds name, we were still playing and td WAS PLAYING IN ANOTHER TOURNEY. My point is , we all have/had bad experience with tds.Many of these probs coud have been avoided if tds that were new looked into stuff already out there, agree very much. But a a more social envirement where only active tds coud post and be commented on disccisions/issues and find all other help woud be usefull. I ve seen new directors posting a new topic" i demand that spychic bids shoud be alerted" , well after a post like that and the comments that follow it u can be almost certain that the new td hides for several mothns under a stone or changes his username and so on. All that is important is that tds improve/trying to improve their job and u aprivate spot would help there cause too many are afraid to come with their questions/concerns/tips for software improvements e.o. Hi all, we had second run tonight in juniorclub of "play with the stars", thanks to ritong, rado and lragerich and inquiry for making it possible we were able to play close to 2 hours with and against a star on each table. We bottom in list of private clubs but as they say "last but not least" that doesnt matter juniors from finding the room aldougb we just started it. Anyways i woud call upon the stars willing to donate some time to improve and help these younsters. Might be needed to take a a high blood pressure pil since some junors seem/sound already to know it all but that goes with the age ;) without kidding think juniors and stars enjoyed themselves tonight so anyone wanting to help out and do the same let me know, this slowly will turn into a regular thing on wednesdays. I Personally i think for juniors this is a grand opportunity to play with the best, and make mistakes without 3512 kibitzers making u nervous. No apoligies needed when u do /no competitieve playing wich in some cases brings out the wurst in ppl. Good atmosphere, great players helping, good ethics and a darn good way to laern a thing or 2, so stars all over let me know when u are avaible and juniors dont let them stars wait:) Thx Juniorclub

hi, CC obligated woud solve a lot of probs, simply click on convention and make out a couple with some basic things u can play (conventions+ systems) and more things for regular partnerships, in my tourneys we highly encourage use of a cc, wont be long before it will become obligated to post one. Some sites have this already where no tourney is played without posting a cc. IBD webiste has a library where u can see,study,save cc`s of diffrent partnerships to start encouraging and give more possibiltys for convention cards. www.internetbridgedomain.com Marc

I'm surprised at this one. It's hard to believe that someone kibitzing in a tournament would want to sub in the same tournament. hi, Dont be surprised, some add themselves to sublist, do a peek a boo and get subbed in, happens a lot when someone is missing that a player goes red and his partner gives u a name of a "willing sub" that happen to be watching. Off course this is not what most do, very pleased that the majority isnt like that and plays it fair but it happens frequently, almost once in every tourney and i believe its not intenionally chaeting but its unethical to say the least. This is the main reason we long ask since players coud find their own sub that it becomes impossible to sub a player in that is kibitzing that tourney, i think its active now(occupied players/kibs in same tourney nolonger get invitations send) correct me if im wrong Uday. What players do now is ask td to do sub manually, so they give a name and unknowing td subs that player in... spwdo

Hi, Yesterday when playing every time that i wanted to say something to gerardo i got booted from bbo( windows junped in to say application is closed caused by an error, then asking me if i want to send a report) i tried it couple of times, all this happen when i was in the tourney area. :lol: It was possible to private chat with gerardo if i stayed in lobby but in same tourney i bbo closed on me P.s , it was Gerardo s b- day , i hope him aging got nothing to do with it :lol:

hi, Agree with cascade, however with disallowing kibitzers they dont have access to 52 cards when the bidding hasnt begun(using the friendly kibchaetingoption), at best now they exchange their cards and fill partner in how to play a hand when dummy, but chaeting is discouraged till certain degree, accusations a lot . More ppl go offline in pairs after scoring bad(maybe coincidence) when u host without kibitzers, what i woud like to see is an option for tds to set , kibitz partner only when dummy so a dummy coudnt see opps hand, togheter with no kibs allowed we coud have fair tourneys without none chaeting allegations because there woud be no ground. Lets not make this too much of a problem when kibitzers are off, remember we got an excellent webpage where u can look into whoever hands u want, i for one go there , look at 20 baords in ten minutes. It got totally nothing to do with punisching the good for a few rotten apples, we taking here about tourneys with limited number of hands played wich again can be find seconds after tourny is over, so these baords are not lost . I can name several pairs that dont play with kibs disallowed, while they play other tourneys i host where kibs are allowed.Also i can name pairs that score good with kibs allowed and score bad with kibs disallowed, some of these pairs avoid like i said the kibs off tourneys. I noticed a dicrease in bluff/spyche bids ( mainly what i talk about is bidding Spades with no spades will opps sitting on a nine fit ) then they end up playing a savely haert game or below and opps stayed out of the bidding, i seen some spyche gone totally bad( personally i think it can go either way) in fact i gotten tired of only psyches gone good(must add to that when opps make spyche and it turns bad no one will inform a td i guess) In the last 3 weeks tourneys over 4000 ppl played "bridge too far" so i think i have some ground to come forward with my opinion i also think that a tourney is competition and main bridge club/teamgames are less competitieve for a large group of players so therefore the excuse of disallowing kibitzers in one of my tourneys. Want to add here also i help out in several other tourneys where kibs are allowed with no problem whatsoever, im not asking/pushing/dictade what others shoud do, as always on BBo every one is allowed to do his own thing, lets keep it that way. Hi Al, Well the whole idea is to save long chats during the tourney and to give players the possibilty to come forward with any defence on their part about a directors decision, we think we mishit sometimes too. And in a chatroom after the tourney more time is avaible, hand coud be uploaded and it doesnt disturb the tourney itself, we all know players exsists who keep on arguining , we will politely invite player now into chatroom after tourney instaed of constant back and forth talk during the tourney. Besides the one player i mentioned it hasnt happen sofar but im sure it will someday, so players have an option to make a case before the results are uploaded and become final. This doesnt stop an initial explanation after a decision is made during the tourney offcourse. The whole tourney is informed about the chatroom with an announcement, indivudual players will be also if needed.We try to improve and hope this will be one of several tools to do so. Hi all, In an effort to offer good quality tourneys or to get there we open now after Bridge Too Far a chatroom where we answer questions about BTF .Examples are possible directors decision,u can also come with all your remarks,complaints. The idea came to me after seeing some time ago topics beeing brought up by forummembers with complaints( seen some very legit complaints) about tds judgement. We are doing that now couple of days, sofar all we encounterd were minor things( for instance someone mad because opps made off course a psychic bid) and the result turned out bad for the "mad" and selfproclaimed damaged side. All players are welcome who participated in btf, we have one td in the tourneyarea that will easely get baords played where problems had occured in.Sofar none (except the above) .All feedback is most welcome so it will be possible for us to become better in what we do. let me know if u like the idea that tds after tourneys are avaible for a chat. hi, Another psyche thread, is no need i think for a button because after someone making a spychic and it goes noticed most opps inform tds, most understand these and inform nicely, once in a while we get a lot of capss and !!!! or ???? when we are informed. What i m interested in is has anybody count the number of spychic bids been bid in the last europeen championship, must admit i dont follow vugraph as often as i want so if anyone can help that saw a lot of these matches. Woud be nice to find out if players/teams representing their countrys( i assume good players) are frequent/regular/on occasion /rarely/not at all spychic bidders. Marc

hi, i really think after having to deal with it that all these new languages versions are very good efforts but they working out to be a major problem to all that have to "deal "with ppl all day. Think a better idea was to have a helpfile in alll languages explaning this great site and left the interface like it was , now all players from whereever find their way and assume tds/clubowners/basicully every one who they meet on a daily basis speaks their languages, we see in tourneys now more non-enlglish then ever, lots are coming in bbo now that dont understand a word english and they find their way around because its explained now, before they learned basic english and we coud communicate even if it was with hand and feet. Calling a yellow for every non english speaking pair is not fun and not enough yellows are avaible, nor do i wish to exclude whole countrys from tourneys . Never i questioned/crtisis anything our programmers have done, but this is causing a lot of agrivation amoung many i talk too. im honest coming forward with this, hope fred/uday you dont take it in a wrong way but besides all the good things you have done sofar this is not working out like intended i think. Not fun when u get non-english explanations on a bid, opps getting mad because of it, and u have to explain someone why u adjusting based upon languages problems or the lack of it while yet all seem very welcome to every aspect(clubs/tourneys/main bridge club) without speaking one word english, it aint working but as usual we give it our best. hi Albrecht, reedited this cause i made initial mistake IBD is explained in another post by yzerman , this can be seen as an extension of BBO and offers some other values , also this domain has no limit to who can use facilties this site offers.IBD isnt group of tds. Cant speak for BBO LAND. Hi, Well at first not bad suggestion at all but Tds gonna have a lot of xtras calls till players realise how software is working on this, so if /when suggest that first mutiple tds calls woud be disabled from tables so ppl sitting on the "call director" button woud end up with cramp but only one call woud reach td :D

thx to BBO i got to know some flags, but due to memory lask i need to post every day a diffrent flag because i seem to forget them. Not important wher you from, only important who you are and what u are like. Love from a today "Argentinean" friend :unsure:

hi I always give choice to player, wait togheter with A- or a sub, works fine, satisfied opps , they get good score if someone decides to wait.

1. either a sub or A-+, let player chose, most take the sub if u say this :D 2.Sub to get him out, report to abuse, my idea is at least 1 week suspension, if happens after that , some stronger message may be in order.He/she wont play in my things till he apoligies.ZT towards players/when kibitzing/to tds.TOO many tds are soft on this causing attitude to get wurse.Dont let those ppl get away with stuff like that. 3.A-+ when no time to sub , if time left sub and let games be played, pair leaving togheter mostley means u know what, prefer one week vacation of playing tourneys when happens couple of times to either one of them, ppl need to laern to stay even when they scoring bad P.S problem one, happens way to often that a player waits for too long so second baord is skipped, when i direct i adjust first baord when 9 minutes remain, never had a problem with it, one side causing first baord to take to long gets the Dreadfull-, other side + .Most tds let baord one be played and then adjust second at best, often to A++. Incorrect, problem happens in first baord,adjust first baord and let second be played

hi, Well a lot of things depend on courtesy i think. Just played tourney, opps claimed contract+2 where they had them all, we rejected and they claimed all outstanding tricks(contract+3). There at least i think there are more important issues then getting a trick on a bridge table that u dont deserve, doesnt suit me to get free lunches wich i dont deserve , in fact i think ist degrading my selfrespect and honour if i had accepted that claim cause it simply wasnt mine. Just like to make my bad scores on my own ;) and not gaining from unfair rule or software glitch/fault/misclick. Same for undos , i always give em unless the next card( wich has critical info) has been played. When i started this game i was thinking this is game for ladies and gentlemans. Unfortunaly after hosting a lot of tourneys and playing a couple of hands myself i beginning to doubt that it applies to all. Call me naief but i still believe my actions will someday change someone and change the " all reject my request for undos thinking" if not i still have my own dignity and i still will keep on doing what i think is right... hi, Agree very much , these laws have been quoted and a lot of links to them have been provided, when u actually start reading them, lot of things can be skipped so an online director has more work actually rewriting,editing then actual benefits to it and several things (important issues) are not handle or at least not sufficient enough. But it gonna be hard to create i think cause writers have to consider software for online bridge, dont know if there is any site where u can still(if ever) revoke or bid insufficient, but u understand my point. Maybe someone with a good heart and wanting to provide tds with an actuall document that is helpfull will stand up, or edit and search lots of topics on BBOforum where critisisme wasnt spared about tds. :D jajaja i know whoever wants to spend themself lots and lots of hours coud do it himself but most tds are doing tourneys while others are busy critisise their every move :blink:

hi, I decided to stop hosting 2 regulary daily tourneys after long thinking this over, Will focus my attention now on helping others and off course juniorclub. Maybe in time if circumstances allow it i ll resume again. Thx all for attending my tourneys, made me meet several warm nice ppl. i also had a good laugh once in a while. I want to thank all that sub in my tourneys(these are really stars in my haert) Also everybody who helped me out, too long list but elena&boris and Co. will know who i am talking about. hi, i got blacklisted this way, made request to undo it, got a "ok, u are able to play again, apoligies, my mistake " still im blacklisted . What happend now, i played with someone who had to reboot , 4 minutes left, generally someone can expect partner will return in short time. i waited couple minutes for her to return, Td was waching when round changed with one minute on round clock, can happen offcourse , didnt expect it, wanted to give partner as long as possible given new policy on barring players. So i end up been black in someones tourney , td came to laugh at me in my own tourney with a typo from me, i ask if td was laugfing with me, she was chocked by my question,wich i think will have me blacklisted for life for that td. I send Td a mail wich probaly will cause td to ask for reinstate capital punischment in my regions given prevuios "punischments"on minor things Regards Marc

hi Ben, hit the nail on top, maybe i did some mails also to many, dont know.I m asking juniors to give me some feedback on it, but unless a misclick i think i more use chat , for sure when tourneys are about to begin.Can be annoying if u get a lot of these messages when u sign in. Anyhow i for one will be very cautiuos how to use these fauetures. Junior flight
