hi, as told earlier, sayc is maybe fairly know but defenatly not a good reason to make as standard what shoud be alerted or not, many times i explained other system players to alert their bids if their is a convention/agreement what a bid means. almost Nobody these days seems to alert 2C 2D/transfers over nt.U trie to explain to a beginner in the middle of a tourney what trsfers are and when they are used. Agreement with partner/special meaning, alert it and explain, maybe attract some new players to this game and make it easy/easier for them to get started. Agree with the "undo" till that bid, i always have undos off in my tournaments till something similar happens, go back to the bid and other side can bid with full info. But mostey we deal with players out to have afree lunch, countless are the players saying they just wanted a adjust and no going back to that bid and start all over without the "damage" they claim to suffer. Not sure claus and gerard arwe talking about the same bids. 1♣2♣ and ♣1♥?? we agree that the 2♣isnt passeble for partner,so alert.i woudnt make a big fuss about it in my tourneys, just saying to players to alert and explain when asked. marc

hi, is it gameforce? yes, specail meaning for you and your partner, look at all that info that bid carries to partner and it is a gameforce bid, prealert and explain when asked i think. much fuss about nothing, cant believe why players woudnt alert .Im always happy to alert a bid , means my partner and i agreed on something and im pretty sure he/she knows what bid ment B) marc

hi i still think that every conventionel bid shoud be alerted to make no misunderstanding, so whatever u p has as info shoud be given to opps as well .Acbl rules are made for and in northamerica and dont cover several bids frequently used in acbl tourneys,cue bids , 2!C 2 !D and so on, seems strange when u play polish players wondering why they have to alert almost every bid and sayc players hardly anything. Not needed to explain everything , just prealert, and explain when ask. Maybe we shoud like on some other sites obligate posting a convention, not that hard work and very appreciated by all when u do it. This is a worldwide site and we shoud not focus on what one particulary bridge organisation has to say about it. If someone host a table/tourneys with acbl rules thats fine and u shoud as player uphold those laws. If somebody hosts tourneys/table with specific rules we shoud follow them, the alert all vonventionel bids is getting rather common amoung bbo tourneys and i think it is a good thing. BBO TD FRIENDS

hi spiralscan try instead of posting these long topics walk for once along a td so you also know more about issues u just mentioned. Or read some prevuios post on the forum, replies from some of the more experienced in this area. There are rules on bbo as some pointed out for you. try read & follow them. Tourneys banns are no punischment, they are a reminder of bbo that u are free to enjoy yourself here as long as you live by the rules. BBO TD FRIENDS

Yes it was from real life and S knew nothing about our hands, because we were silent in the bidding. He knew also nothing about distribution. But you are right to prove that statement one must see the full hand, bidding and play to this moment. I regret for not reporting the full deal. so sorry :( Next time I'll do better. hi, clipbaord Buddy version1.0.4 does the job for me, not much options/buttons/can save upto 20 things on one file/can use capture mode so evrthing u cut or copie goes in there.Even printscreens and so on, its small, runs perfectly next to bbo, write all in wordpad and copie it, then save. Once open click on item u want , click chat in bbo and right click paste.No ctitics on remote keys but i coudnt figur it out in under one minute so lost interest. spwdo

Helping Marc in his tourneys is a real adventure! He is a very seasoned and professional director(dont know that), but....... loves to pull pranks on his co-TD's:):(sure do) I think Marc is a masochist ( slothy if the spelling is wrong please feel free to correct in next post) He asks for help, then subs the help! (only as a favour to keep my fellow tds regain thier full focuss off course when they long distance calling/gettting bored etc.) P.S. hi, JUNIOR FLIGHT wants to thank edmunte(romanian junior coach)&steve for commenting the hands beeing played in our second tourney today. Secondly i want to thank Ben(inquiry) for supporting us and answering on private questions thierry(shaggth for working on those deals)&steve/ece for directing last but not least i want to thank ariakas(our secretary&juniormember) who does all the hard work behind the screens(not always noticed im sure but oh so needed) some numbers, members are over 140 now, 4 tables played today, +14 juniors came to follow comments after, a small start i hope will result i hope in a staedy grow of members More and other events are coming jr flight spwdo

hi, thx fred, had to format pc yesterday and indeed my fonts were set to large, dint knew if this had anything to do with new version,thx changed now.Seeing most tabelnumbers now in most tourneys. Still BBO in full takes a lot of space too, maybe change possible space for td (maximum)togheter with BBO TOURNAMENT #XXX will display all tablenumber for everyone in every tourney looks&works good new version MARC

hi, noticed since last version (3.7.3) that tablenumbers are not displayed unless u are using the widest bbo possible ,BRIDGE BASE ONLINE TOURNAMENT # takes a lot of place, can that be changed to bbo ? Its needed because sometimes u want as td to call another td to that table, since u dont see # anymore. Cant use widest screen since we have several other things open when directing that are placed for my comfort next to bbo. Happend to me several times today that i was clueless where i was ( we change rapidly from table when directing as u can understand) thx BBO TD FRIENDS

hi time no argument here since there was time to play after the claim was rejected, finess one time and ok i woud have given benefit of the dougbht to declarer in all other situtaions not , rules are obvuiosly correct and fair and ajust one down woud be fair to here, other tablesresults dont matter or al. Secondly how can u know anything about ♠ when none are played, wrong decision from td(hope it wasnt me). One reason i mentioned earlier was if td was informed in private that player was going to finess, it happens(happend in fact to me personally couple of days ago) Only other posible excuse for doing this adjust is the 1 nt missing some points but still, then the player shoud take it into his claim. "i finnesse !S " was enough here so no excuse , contract down Can be td was in hectic tournament with not enough help causing him to take a dicision without beeing careful enough (didnt check movie, only acting on what he saw on othe tables) or if he took time for this and discussion went on for longer he probaly missed some mentoring and isnt ready to host tourneys(this dont need expertise to know)only a little sense of tablefairness. hi, I ve heard from lots of members that whenever vugraph is on BBO is slowing down so question is : is vugraph (or the many kibitzers)causing some of the problems(slowing down, crashes) often to happen when broadcasting is on? Meaning/impliying nothing but positives about vugraph, just concerns and a asking if u noticed/ are aware of this and if so why it happens and can something be done. P.S. Maybe Uday can show some statitics on crashes/slowreactions when vugraph is on/not on, maybe its just coincidence spwdo

hi Aisha, think from all barred the ones with bad connection have the most sympathy but unfortunaly fact remains they cant keep pace as stated in tourneysrules.(better not join then? ) A momentary bad connection happens to most on occassion and if u have a partner willing to wait couple of minutes or one baord and take an average- for it nothing to wurrie then. What i strongly support and most seem to do so is differentiate between intentionel/unintentionel disconnect. Like i said before in our tourneys we wait as long as possible/reasonable, most of the time players after a while either choce a sub or ask for one. We never sub outside the table, we ask partner first if he wants a sub or prefer the wait with consequences(A-) Agree also with you that there maybe arent enough unclocked events but i see very large amounts of teammatches(maybe a suggestion/alternative for lesser connected players) So overall we very sure that the majority of players we sub out are not present at tourney start or leave after not scoring as planned/hoped for. All my sympathys go to the less fortunate ,poor connected , unable to get better connections members on bbo( i have several friends that are bad connected yet i see them hardly ever not finisch a tourney) BBO TD FRIENDS note that i sign as a group, we talk a lot every day and i been asked to post on thier behalf as well(some have languages prob,some no time,some no interes to post themselves,they like to laugh with my typing im sure is the main reason for most)

Hi Ben , this makes sense and i agreed with this reason but the way you edited or came with this asking support for deleting something that is not your favourite thread to say the least made me replie in the way i did. Im not in the cival right movement for free speech , just letting know the above motivation for this poll is not the right one imo. To misho , nice you stick up for a friend and good that u noticed the hard work Ben does for BBO but i want to let you know that sounding the "well done Ben" &"dont bother Ben"horn too much isnt good + doing that seems that u are forgetting others(lots do this i m afraid) A. he might start getting the idea he is flawless B.Others might think he is the only one donating to BBO C. Some might even think for example a td never gets to deal with stupid jokes/stupid questions/rude comments and other less amusing things D.when i ask my td friends to be more actif on the forum they say to me "sorry marc, we cant , we work, then host 4/5 hours a day and like to play a baord or 10 too" So the next time you are playing in one or the other tourney or in one of your long sessions in main, remeber those tds donating a lot of their time to others and know they will never reach worldclassposter or worldclassplayer status but are apprecaited at least from some. Ps. dont want to sound hars, had a terrible day (pc format), and beeing hearing to much tds feeling unappreaciated while seeing others getting the compliments they deserved. note that i m not signing this thread as BBO TD FRIENDS( when i do this is shared opnion)now i m trying to support and show my apprecaition for all the work td do without getting their day in the sun(not talking about me, i feel lucky knowing them in person and having them as friends=is more then enough for me spwdo

hi irl after claim have to play from top, in online tourneys where a td can see the line of play he sees/takes in to account the previuos tricks to see how player was playing before he makes adjusts. But this is imho not a good adjust, if he plays from top he cannot get back twice into south , needs too since East is holding 4♠ so if it was me down one if i had to adjust after roundchange and unfinisched, if i was on table coud be that player said to me "i take finess" then i ruled to made . But personally i dont like these kind of claims, woud at the very least say to player that he had to make his keyplay before claiming rest. BBO TD FRIENDS
