hi yes on gerardo, what happend here was one pair had player going offline seconds before roundchange taking another pair out of the tourney with them:( to avoid sitouts.This happens in survivor even with 0% cuts. We happy now we changed back to full swiss movement, is possible now again since the number of subs needed dropped significully. Couple of days now and we start trying if bridge too far can be same format as the climb, is kinda big tourney and we hope this will cause no severe probs. marc

hi, i dont get the problem with this claus, why is it wrong to play 2/3 baords to post cc and agree on defence and so on prior to a tourney with a new prtner when u announce that. I seen nobody complaining about this, same as there are tourneys for four baords, those wanting to play that if they like it let them, i see no harm in diffrence of interest, u want to sit down for 2 hours with same opps, so why not create a teammatch, if i ask around in the lobby for teammatch i got a douzen players every time to sign up so why not do that and chose the # of baords, dont ask of all that they have same interest as you claus or that some "care" for what u do. Dont ask to overload tds and other innocent players with a bourdon because u personnally dont compete in tourneys, when i play with juniors, they come and go for 2/3/4 baords and all are honest and say i need do this in 15/i only can stay 4 baords. All i think we need to do is find a way for the server to see when a player is swept into a tourney(when he was sitting down in main) and let it count as intentionel disconnect and barr them if it happens too often For the subs(looking at other ways u say), u are simply saying no tourneys anymore on bbo.IF u want that maybe it is time u suggest to bann all players with a poor connection to start with, then on to the next thing causing any annoience If we can only use free ones not doing anything , just waiting in the lobby to get in atourney somewhere sometime I feel u are on a witchunt claus against tourneys without looking to any fact/problem/solution besides your thinking on the matter wich i feel is narrowminded there is a saying for this: Wanting a mile, yet not willing to give an inch marc

hi, i dont see why playing less then half an our woud be a problem if all agree , disappaerence of lots of tables when tourney starts has maybe something to do with most of these tables knowing a tourney is coming up. disallowing entering tourneys for players when they are in main playing will cause huge problems for tds knowing #of entrance. Possible solution again is bann(timeperiod from playing main/tourneys) players when they dont finisch so so % of events they started including leaving in main in the middle of hand For me is not a big issue, yet for some who are frustrated by this , maybe mark all thos who do this as enemies and never play with them again. happend to me ones or twice that someone dint mention he was going to play in a tourney so guess im lucky what bothers me more is players sitting down, bidding ,dummy unfolds, they see its unmakeble and they leave to sit down at another table seconds later. But maybe/probaly all barred players from tourneys(too high %of unfinisched events) now sit down in main to do the same thing causing the same grieve.

hi, a combined filter for intentionel disconnect, so leaving a tourney before its ended and leaving main bridgetables before deal is played all counts as same thing(=intentionel disconnect) when u drop below a certain %of finisching what u started causes a bann for certain time. i believe uday is thinking of this , at least he mentioned it somewhere. its actif now for tourney and all tds are very very happy with this improvement. But i said this before, software isnt causing this rudiness, this is full responsabilty of the players in question. I play also regulary in main and we always announce we have a tourney coming up. I need no reminder of this.i sit at a table, first thing i click is tourneys so see actual time before start and then inform opps its courtesy, respect, bridgeminded.good manners and respect for others will result in making friends and thats what bbo is for me( a place wher i can spend time with friend and play a game i love) We have the possiblity to make friends from all over the world, some miss this oppertunity and make only enemies,its really their lost marc

hi, well, at last i have found something to critisise as well ans since this topic was about timemonsters and slowplayers and it sounded for a second that majority of players was fair&fast. i hosted a speedball today , rules were 1.DONT SIGN UP IF U CANT BID/PLAY/FINISCH A BAORD IN SIX MINUTES 2.DONT CALL DIRECTOR TO THE TABLE FOR ADJUST,USE PRIVATE MESSAGE 3.NO CALLS ABOUT ALERTS&ANY TIMECONSUMING ISSUE(PLAY FAIR&ALERT) 4.USE THE DIRECTORS BOX TO EXPLAIN YOUR PROBLEM 5.NO MUTIPLE CALLS seems easy huh, 4 tds, i was playing so three others free to visit tables, well one td run away(asked me first to pull the plug since it was my thing) and excused herself to the tournament, her fellowcountryman/woman started to get mad at her/us/me for not beeing able to coope with all adjusts in time.tds who stayed adjusted baord after baord and were depressed after. i adjusted 23 baords after the tourney, not most BUT ALL BAORDS WERE DOWN(contract bid and unmakeble) Some had the nerve to call me for one particulary adjust wher they made good score while three other A- didnt seem to bother(yes , u guessed it right, those where the down baords for them) i adjusted all that i had name of, but even with three tds en my 15 minutes after wasnt enough to get most of the unfinisched baords i think.i played with gweny and we had one A-(opps were down) rest of the baords we had some time left so it can be done. conclusion: what u need is a fair group to play those types of tourneys, becaused with the possiblity that the clock runs out very fast the slightest hesitasion is enough and WILL be taken by a LOT of players when they are down causing many many bad vibes. Will i do this again? sure with a selected field its a fun time spender, no waits, just bid and play and all end at the same time or with 1 td/8à10 tables when its open for the public I m not going to apoligies to public for some calling this a "bad" tourney, to many pairs signed up not following claerly stated rules in lobby/tourney/tourneyinfo I apoligies to tds helping with this and not aware of the hectic speedball can cause with the wrong field spwdo

hi off course not, u see every card played till the last,bidding& all. So very easy to adjust, no probs.We in our tourneys even adjust(last tables in play) to obviuos when they still playing , several sections mostley so 3,4,5 tds each take a diffrent table and make them move, we are clocked to 8 minutes max but very often several rounds are finisched before time runs out.Its some extra work but we like to host as best/fairest/ and most fast as we can. The whole reason for us doing clocked is we can time our day and we have lots of regulars that play, the climb, culbaran,bridge to far, abalucys and so on all in one day and its a tight schedule for us and for players but its only way for us/them to manage spwdo

hi climb of the matterhorn is swiss again, we seeing enormous decrease of subs needed, in stead of the usual 10% in total at least it comes down to very few who leave after bad baords, i guess the new software is doing its job perfectly, when things continui like this format of bridge too far is changing too i think to swiss, i always prefered that movement personally and i think majority of players likes it as well. spwdo

hi, john, i reacted the way i have because the orniginal poster his trheat was nothing more like critisism and the worduses wasnt to respectfull of the things we do. 1.timemonster 2.We not fair? 3.holding the game up for one slowplayer? We tds work very hard to check up on late tables, we go visit them , we get them moving, we never allow extra time for one slowtable, in fact when only a 4/5 tables playing we in bridge too far adjust them either to obviuos result either to A-+ depends on who is to blaim for delay, either to a== if they cant finisch. Again i say this , we are volunteers working very hard , so any suggestions for software improvement shoud be adressed to uday/fred i think instead of calling us infair. Again i say that reading tournament format is the only thing players have to do prior to the game, if u dont like the format play somewhere else. Again i say before judging tds host one time for a change , u will be surprissed believe me. I read in this topic several good ideas/suggestions for improvement and that is the way to handle things not critisiing without having a clue. spwdo

hi, i get a lot of questions when jr flight is going to start, well, we need some things. Off course a private room, i applied for it a couple of weeks ago.No asnwer sofar we need the private room off course for lessons/mentoring/playing amoungst juniors/ hold meetings to get ideas and hear what juniors want themselves. steve and ece are on a break/vacation but we are still signing up players so contact jr flight/topflight for junior sign ups. jr flight

hi, first dwingo those are really not minor things, sorry.There is a limit to everything and mutiple calls is more then just annoying but forgiving since u brought up the reason yourself why u cant know:). Many of tds working with me asking me for a way to see all the notes i made on each profile when they are called to a table.I for one woud like to see a posiblity to share that with tds. As for the ones pressumed are chaeting, send in evidence to abuse and bann them parmanent if case is strong enough. If we allow a "select group" to loook into that and they think/feel/are sure about names really are chaeting, why allow them any further on bbo. I feel that suspecting someone isnt enough reason to ban, either someone makes a discision that they are/are not/under investigation (for cheating)and rule on that. I woud not like to see tds banning on gossip from others, all it needs it 1/2 tds that dont like you for personal reasons and your abilty to play woud be decreased. spwdo

hi, aldough not perfect but what is i think the general idea is that players for whatever reason cant finisch+50% of thier tourneys dont belong in tournaments, if you always pair up with the "bad" partner, u always have "emergency", u connection "always" seem to fail, i feel u better of playing in main with players that can understand that. With great pleasure we changed our format in the climb of the matterhorn from survivor 0% cuts to swiss again , 50/60 tables , only a handfull subs needed in 12 baords. spwdo&friends

hi, i came in a sub yesterday and the scroll bar for tables once playing was again at wrong place(this was same in earlier version and then modified, then it happend only when directing), so joing as sub, then clicking on tables and the srolbar was/is at the same place where it is when u have the tableview (overview from a tourney)

hi, @gree gweny, i have a fair shair of regular subs that private me in the beginiing of the tourney, i think them all but gathering these names and hosting a specail vent montley or an public anouncenment seems a good idea and they really reserve day in the sun . it is always a nice thing to thatk ppl donating to comunnity an subs defently are doing that, as a td the wurst offence i find i a play refusing to play with a sub and those players and up very fast in the lobby . !S!d!C!H thx to subs we`re able to play in this event, so handle them with great care !S!D!C!H spwdo&friends
