hi, some of my friends are not displayed in the lobby while they are online, when im in tournament area and i click on lobby all freinds are displayed, not talking here about invisebles, so i have adiffrent displyed friendslist in tournament(where i click lobby, below chat i think) area and in the lobby any explanation for this inconvienience? marc

hi, how many bords is no importance(i belive there is plenty of diffenrence to choice from), players entering agreeing with the# of boards on that tourney is, i like evry format depending on the time i got as long as it is clocked so i have a genaral idea when its going to end

hi, trying to interprete etherwiz replie, i think u in favour too of obligated training for new tds as well if i see the create button u say shoud be inactive before some training had taking place? i think one of the main reasons we ask this because we get a lot of questions from new tds (software handling as well as bridgerelated questions), second concern i think we share (most of us) is a schedule, new tds are not aware. i must add that there is already dont great effort(bbo helpfile, td 101 and so on) but several i know havent read a thing, instaed asking the same questions time and time again, every meeting we hold i see some same coming in asking "how adjust" , this is covered already several times, am i correct to say some take the easy way and ask somebody they know has the asnwers, well i for one am not going to asnwer several of these questions anymore , instead im going to refer to things already there and made with great effort and time spent on it so little effort for new ones is to read it, like most of us do or have done greetings marc p.s. i want to lose my begiiner poster also jan , have only a couple to go lol

hi, just looked at the votes, if not mistaken +- 70% of all votes are in favour of monitoring new tds, at leasts 1 upto 10 times with some form of training(adjusting clinic also mentioned,or take a test) as seen several time in the replies. can we also conclude that a majority of voters also are already td? since this is atopic in the tdforum, it was mentioned several times on diffrent meetings and it concerns all tds and interested parties. can we therefore conclude that +-70% of excisting tds (knowing what it means to start from zip) are in favour of some obligated course to follow before recieving possiblity to host single? greetings marc

hi mink, doesnt hurt to visit tables once in a while and see if board is difficult, as i said 6 tables (max)are displayed in each sections of 45 tables, thats about 13% of the tables, so a lot more then u are asking and if u see in tournament view several red dots or tables when 3 minutes to go are(1,2,3,4,5,6) (45.46.47.48.49.50) maybe wise to add a minute, and when i see 2/3 tables still in play,i visit them and do a check up

♥ thx uday, another great job, we finally see what tables are behind, and how many and can react accordinly, takes atourney ot 2 to get use to this(and not forget to use it) dont know if it will be possible to make this move instead of current info only so u coud have it constant open and see current stats all the time, sorry uday,i seem like a child always asking for more but this helps tracking down tables that are behind, great great , great. i edited it topic , got several questions where to find this new thing and what it does. as td u clik on table in your tournament, then window called tournament management opens, then below the adjusting scoring line, u have box called "other options" in there u pick the topone,click excecute, window opens displying diffrent sections, rounds, finished tables and tables still in play, when u use it for large numbers in begiining of the round not all tables are displyed.example: (1,2,3,4,5,6) however when u use this at the end of the round u see actuall tables still in play(2,17,21,34) great tool marc

hi, i used the cheesy text to lin converter to try and create conditions of contest, only thing i can upload is a bridgemovie causing every one to watch this have to leave bbo, what did i do? i made textfile, using copie and paste to get it in converter, then converted it, then i have to do what to save it as some sort of bridgemovie? please help marc

hi elena, u 100% right, this is not funny thing , maybe bbo coud add something so td who setup team matches has to send invites to players willing to play so they can confirm thier registration , not nice when someone pulls you in somewhere u didnt ask for ♥ marc

hi, since the discussion is slpping in to a clocked/non clocked one, i ve a few things to add their too,first to ben, when someone p is disconnected they are indeed excused from the tournament, 99%of the players know this, the ones not aware are informed from us so they have chance to get a sub so they can proceed, we(not much work) check the red dots at end of round , go to the table and give players that choice, often players say, its ok , no sub, let me be excused, fair enough.again we all agree on this i think that when u have a very poor connections , why enter clocked tournaments? second , i dont agree with east-europe part of cs comment that dial-up is causing more problems then others, maybe for a small percentage thats true, i run 2/3 tournaments per day at least, countless time i have seen and saw turkish , polish players,taking in the whole poduim. A whole bunch is regulars players(i even searched a long time to get a vey good polish/english apeaking td to help us out, some polish player know only polish, and we dont want to exclude anyone for only languages prob) well i run a few unclocked events myself, we taking numbers here, 16boards , +- 200 pairs, well this coud easely take all day, i agree when u have a mangeble field but this is not, then the waiting aprt of the game, when u are fast in unclocked , u play against the fast over and over again, same for the slowplayers, not fun when u get a zillion mesages "why u give us same opps again" at least in survivor this is based upon scores, secondly, how many last boards% are played in an unclocked event? the number of skipped boards is way to much , u only need one slow player each round to never be abled to play a last board, i think in overall its fair to say, when u run a private tournament, with small numbers i agree unclocked is an nice set-up, however we running tournaments that are scheduled and we dont want to overlap someones tourney starting 100/mintes later when we are hosting 12 boards for example, loads of players messages us: "can we play both, it is finished in time, dont add time plaese(we signed in for the next)" in unclocked with some numbers , calls are vastly:" td, when we move", "td, why wait so long," "td, why is clock minus,""td,why same opps three time", td, i cant stay that long,"td why board is skipped when opps play slow on purposse", i woudnt say these things if i didnt knew, i dont know how many tried it before hosting a 100 table unclocked/clocked event, if it where to any advantage for me or players in general i woud reconsider this in a sec, as for the lazyness involved, jan mentioned a very good point, when can u play in main bridgeclub 60/90/120 of bridge with getting your scores and results afterwards and meeting other players witch u woud never met or play against in main, countless nice comments we get when 2 novice had the "privilige""opertuntiny"(they message me that) to play against 2 stars . another thing what some forget is that we are volunteers and when we run a 12boards/8 minutes/baord tourney we know we are finished in max 100 minutes. greetings marc

hi, think very similar to ben in this matter , when possible infrm subs whats been played, i often find myself when in the middle of the hand adjusting immediatly(we tend to not sub once a round is completed aldoug exceptions on this rule are granted quit often), when the outcome is in fact forseeable when the replaced coud have finished i adjust according to outcome, if not with averages, in unclocked events same in first board while second woud been skipped if not finished in time, i understand the need of that in software however i trie everything to not let that happen, i feel every board has to be played just like in main, due to circomstance we sometimes have to assign average+-=, second board if not to many tricks been played, just 1,2 max 3 i inform the sub when things not that hectic or i ask someone at the table to give history of hand to new player.also ben , no need to ask for a claim, u can give averages when hand wasnt finished also, i do it this way and then inform the table why. noone complained sofar , most if not almost all players are very understanding with these situations greetings marc

hi, let me try and answer this correct. When u send invitations, the first one goes to the first person on the list, when he refuses or it takes to long and u click again"substitute now" the invitation goes to somebody else, we suggested this to uday a while ago to drop a name that refuses to much, also we suggested that it would be good thing to not allow enemies of the host have possiblitly to add themselves to the list, i agree it can be sometimes hard when several ( the highest ) on your are constantly refusing , as for hallways question, u click once on the sublist and u are sub, second time u remove yourself again and so on, encourage your subbers to not watch the tourney in progress= not fiar, if u feel they not responding to that enough, u can make an add to the lobby asking subs to private u and manual typ in these names, btw uday replied to that question for software change he will change when he got a spare moment for it and that it wasnt his highest proirity, we know how busy our dear friend is so asking little patience there. when and why they disapaer i dont know for sure but i think either they removed themselves or they went to play in another tourney or maybe also after some period of time has passed. hope this helps you a little greetings marc

hi, well dear elena, i support your concern and we trying hard to change some things , yesterday someone else then me hosted twice a bridge too far, several told me this is also not nice thing to do, i feel gweny is working hard for schedule , we had test run with adjusting clinic and i hope we will make progress there too but i think this needs time and many more efforts to make this work , we move every day little step in right direction i hope(think we are) greetings

hi, well, im sorry, obvuiosly i jumped to conclusions and as fair as possible as i can be i feel the need to make my excuses here. the whole idea behind this poll was the to get an endresult where several votes went to the" td dont do enough in reporting this" so as a result maybe to move 1 or 2 td to actually start using the tools we already got, not only the i.d., but also for veruios rude behavuior . a side story about the i.d while playing in main bridge club, a player seated seconds make a silly bid , we dbl , dummy unfolds and player left and went to play upon another table, clear case of i.d aldough player never closed bbo window. ben, i apoligies in every meaning of the word where i been wrong and hey never woud i sink as low to list someone who openly expresses his/her opnion or critisis my view /ideas on issues, i was under the conclusion that u thought i was having other motives then the ones i expressed and (suporting 3 strikes, wanting power to ban players), i coud have figured out that u wernt, 99% u were the first that saw the topic and also my vote lol. last but not least, i must say that aldough it happens in every tournament , its at least i think it is becoming more rarer every day in tourneys where there is a policy to report these things.this must get around to players while they talk to eachother too so i think the key is to get tds to know that this feauture/tool is working . but bye all means less not forget we tds volunteer here to let people play and enjoy themselves .me personal find plaesure in hosting and i always get warm feelings after every compliment we get for our efforts. greetings marc

hi, TOTTALLY MISJUDGING ME, ALL THESE THINGS you say i must do i do, no implement of undertone from me asking power ha ha to bann people, no secret gossip to bann players, just a concerne of what players tell me that its not enough, u becoming personal and accusse me off things i do not!!!!!!!! when u want to read between the lines , feel free to do so, and when u want to take quotes i already said was misplaced while it wasnt explained proper way, or my english not sufficent to explain, and i dont like you making me look redicoulious when u state that im gifted, I Ask a yellow to check every red dot i find suspicuios and guess what, 99% they just replie to me , player logged off and is reported to yellow forum. the only disconnect again im reffering too is when a player closes bbo and clicks the X. all other things u are making or talking about, if my dog runs over my pc its not an intentionel disconnect,if my server breaks down its not an intentionel disconnect. i have no power and i m not asking power to determine this nor am i suggesting that tds shoud have that, second if all this problems u referring to keep happening , why even enter a tournament, always bad luck when a phone is pickup and,at least i have the guts to come forward with the problems i see in tourney and react to what players tell me is very rude and for the record, i voted first answer in the poll with very strong believe that bbo does enough to thread this and i have sympathy for option that" td dont do enough to report this".ask any yellow or uday if i report to abbuse or not, im sure they will tell you that i do this by the book.sub,report,list for short while(i believe in second chances), i have had several others reading this topic over and their response was my non perfect english is resonsable for some misunderstanding, asl i dont get every thing u said in response but read this very carefully and please dont jump to conclusions when people try to make themselves claer in "your" first and mine third language. thx
