Hi, Maybe already said (or silly idea) but would it not be possible to let tournaments after the start move to a different location, given the fact that a large % on bbo is in a tourney all day long .So sign up/registartion avaible in the main BBO , then send to a tournament BBO , same for TM. Would hate the idea like in msn gaming zone to jump around to locate a friend , would hate to see the bbo disappear as we know it Marc

Hi Ellie, Was very fortunate to play with Fred a week ago in acbl tourney where he opend 1nt with singleton ♥ Jack.We found a small club slam. Opps after noticing the singleton called the td, i at that point did not even saw it(too excisted cause playing with Fred and bidding a makeble slam,Good he was the one playing it:))). Td ruled that laws did not say anything about opening nt with a singleton ( so allowed) further Fred & me did not have a agreement in doing so cause new partnership and this first time it happend(hopefully not the last , that would mean we get to play again). For opening 1nt with a void, i think its allowed in acbl land but might be considerd a spyche(so allowed as long as its not a partnershipagreement and or becomes an established pattern) .Would love to see a acbl director answer this Regards M

hi, And when a dummy played and sit for dont know how many baords and leaves(after saying my last , gtg, etc) can software recognise a good leave ? However i do feel sympathy for banning those who`s names do come up regulary as beeing leavers.The tournament ban for those that id a lot worked fairly well at the time, i come to think that the % is lowered over time cause i see several same names going offline regulary, when u talk to another td its happens frequently thats user x or y is a know itentional disconnecter. We discuss not blacklisted names etc, but when u work together u see same red dots . And yes, in main it once was diffrent but over time bbo attracted more and more numbers from sites where abuse wasnt so active to say the least if it even excisted. Some of these users have never heard/seen the way things are done /done like on bbo. Too bad is that some ppl need more then a warning to understand what they do is wrong.And yes it can be very annoying trying to form a table. some leave for tourneys(not as much as before) the vast majority leaves after a bad baord/bid/card played from partner. seems to happen only when a pair has the latest version, i played a tourney after the first with someone using an older version and claims were accepted. In first tourney all claims were autorejected even if clicked yes from rest at table, noone red , and both clicked yes , tried again, still rejected, conceding tricks did work , claiming not Regards Marc

i like the tournament completion ratio, leaving hand in middle of game ratio, changing tables ratio, not the feedback, all it takes is one individual not liking you to influence someones BMR or we have to make sure one user can only vote one time on someone, i mean is when someone doesnt like you and he has 180 nicks he can rather destroy your BMR in wich turn you have to create 200 nicks and undo that or let a friend do it for you:) Marc

Good idea but i think that ppl that wont comply with siterules usualy first have to "meet " abuse before they re getting the basics, the vast majority never have to read any rules. Its just curtousy, respect, in short the obviuos thing to do /how to deal with other ppl that makes one never has to get a warning from -talk with abuse . Some unfortunaly even have to be booted for a while before they get the message:( Anyways i think the most important we can do is inform abuse@bridgebase.com whenever we come across something that isnt right. no rating please, tournaments are often left when someone is not getting the results he/she desires, leaving the sub with a bad heritage, so the good(sub) gets a lower ranking when he helps out and the idiot(intenional disconnect) benefits. No please, its very easy on bbo, play with someone once , find out who he is, how he plays, like it, play again, dont like it, give a comment to him/her in his/her profile(right clicking name, there s room for comments) saying how much he/she .... at bridge and leave it with that, dont play again, easy, no fuzz, no prob Marc

Hi, It seems to me that the changing attitude and all you re talking about wont be noticed from abuse and/or administrators unless community informs abuse . I do not think its bbo task to inform new members that bbo is a different site that they are use too. To those thinking that bbo is similar to other sites concerning abuse, well, they ll find out the bad way once abuse is informed about siteviolations A general reminder of bborules and policy like the one we had couple days ago in newssection is a good thing.Unfortunaly some ppl are and will be causing problems with beeing rude, chaeting, etc. Only way to stop or change this is when we inform abuse about the misfits, so report and we all benefit, even offenders. Its my believe that most offenders do what they do because someone else did the same to them and got away with it, a sort of "act first before act upon" is better then vice versa. The transfer from other sites u mention is likely to be thru, i think many "new bbo members" came because they gottten fed up with attitude on other sites(there will be other reasons as well but the one i mention is the most important one i heard from many folks). Once your happy someplace you wont seek further, correct? So report violations, it will make BBO a even better place. Regards Marc
