  1. Also, are your sure they weren't subs? they would often show up as playing just 1-3 boards. Check the board numbers played if first board not bd 1 they are for sure a sub.
  2. I agree tournament completion rates should be shown when inviting, but I think it should be shown whenever your inviting not just where your paying both fees. You get to see it when people invite you, I don't see why it cant be done when you invite.. this discussion should be in suggestion for software.
  3. What's even funnier is the description for correction East North 4♠ bid actually is pretty close to North's hand. So, Gib is designed to bid hopeless 4♠ surely without a fit for partner when 3N doesn't look like it will make if South Gib has their bids.
  4. I agree with Rik. South hasn't shown a ♠ stopper and has 2 cards. Hasn't shown a fit and has a big fit. Forget points South has the cards North needs to accept an invite. Is there a law that you can't accept inv on a minimum? Besides EW if they think could realise ♠ are stopped and lead ♣ and it's down.
  5. cant EW make 3N or 4♠? good sacrifice lol.
  6. http://bridge.downagain.be/FD/ you can upload your file here publically I think u have to get your userid validated by contacting bbo user downagain
  7. I see nothing wrong with 2♠. so it didn't workout that's why people pre-empt as much as possible, its hard to deal with
  8. Ok your ahead of where you sounded. log in using windows program click on green conv button click on work convention card, your FD file will pop up click on use good luck!
  9. You need to set up a FD full disclosure card using bidedit. bidedit is downloaded with the windows version of BBO. There are several preset FD cards available, in the convention card section of BBO already made up. BBO Advanced 1.3, SAYC, Precision and WJ2005 come to mind. have had problems with ACBL directors where they don't accept FD "alerts" because they don't show up when someone (ie the director) reviews the hand. FD files are also complicated, so you are warned.
  10. get greedy - look for a person wanting to play full system. learning an inbetween system then the real system is too much work
  11. South still asleep bidding anything other then 4♥ is a gross underbid, yes you may miss slam but at least youll be in game.
  12. With limit raise 3♥ and 4-5+♠ Gib should bid 1♠ not 1N and then bid 3♥. Probably bidding game if opener bids 2♥ and bidding 3♥ if opener raises ♠ showing double fit, probably bidding game with 5♠. This allows finding low hcp game based on a double fit. Very little cost to looking perhaps none compared to 1N.
  13. West should protect himself and ask meaning of 2♦ & possibly 4♠ bid. Something unusual definitely going on.
  14. Is it possible to have a hand with 3 or 4 defensive tricks long♦ but not strong enough to double 1♠ initially?
  15. imho a psyche. and don't see why you would do partner will bid 3N on balanced 9 hcp with no play
  16. lowerline, on 2014-November-19, 11:10, said: 4m: Last Train, allowing opener to sign off in 4nt with a minimum4nt: Optional Blackwood, allowing opener to sign off in 5m with a minimum4x: control-showing with serious slam interest Using 4m+1 as Kickback allows 4m as Last Train 4N then controls bid for 4m+1
  17. There is a big difference between a NT opening where 1 or 2 pts is an acceptable deviation and a suit bid where wide variation possible due to shape.
  18. I think with a strong NT you should be able to sit for 1N, there's no guarantee 3m better need 2 extra tricks. You can also have screwup and bid 3♣ where opener has longer ♦ but not a positive response. Opp might rescue you with 2M If you get doubled or want to compete after opponents balance you can bid 2N for the minors.
  19. BBO games are classified as a club despite the fact they call them tourneys. As such they are quite free make their own special rules including no psyches.
  20. I never understood jumping to 3N on 4333 hands. What likely happens is you have a 3 card suit opposite a doubleton. So if you have none or one stopper in that suit your likely in trouble.
  21. Total Points tables are the closest thing to rubber bridge. but there is no carryover so isn't really close.
  22. Maybe if was AJT9xx, but really this is just a nice weak 2. even AQ missing J T & 9 would still be a weak 2
  23. There is no game you have a 10 loser hand - pass
  24. They didn't specify what jurisdiction the tournament was in. in ACBLland psychs are allowed in all seats.
