  1. maybe I should have been more specific and said your ♦ spots are wanting since this is your most likely place to play
  2. 1. call 3♠ because first that will make your partner play it and second your 5-2♠ fit rates to take more tricks than your 2-5♥ fit. 2. 3♣, tempt the opponents to get too high partner rates to be near 1336 and R vs W 2♣ calls need to be the nuts.
  3. Bad Fluffy. Stop trying to show love and affection for your opps by jumping on his leg. Seriously, pass is pretty clear IMO.
  4. 12 + 3 = 15? Looks like enough? And it even has good controls, ie no jacks. How could this problem be here? Open your opening bids. Qx = 2? If you are downgrading for that you are surely upgrading for the heart ten, the 5 card suit, and the great controls. But anyway casino/pearson points (aka rule of 15) specifically mention high card points at any links I can find. This is really a borderline hand and while I am a firm believer in the Pearson count this one has several negative features like only 5 major suit cards and really ugly spot cards. Consequently I would reluctantly pass but have no real problem if partner chose to open.
  5. This seems like a reasonable choice to me and probably what I would do IRL (And Fluffy did what on the Karpet!!? )
  6. Your range for a 1♦ overcall is too large. You need to read up on take out doubles and incorporate a reasonable strategy to handle this type of hand. Such a strategy will normally involve starting with an X and have a NT rebid.
  7. North for misbidding his opening call. South for no longer trusting North's 1NT call to actually be in range.
  8. too much guesswork I take the probably money with X and run.
  9. That's if it lived to survive trick 2. Many would have set this at trick 2 when they cashed their 2nd ♦ the A.
  10. This is my Touc on it too. I wouldn't mind Xing so much, but I am not sure I really want partner to jump to 6♥ in a contested auction
  11. that's simple I don't read this crap :)
  12. after your partner finished spewing I would tell him his brown eyes are blue and thus he must now be a quart or two low.
  13. why does North think he is suddenly captain after 1♠?
  14. not me. Partner will striving to figure out which major to lead anyway
  15. you mean "meow meow" right? Unless you are a duck ...clothing
  16. if you have no double to guide you, how do you know the opps are missing an ace and why would you assume they are stupid enough to bid a grand missing a needed control?
  17. I would respond 2♠ with either example hand as this has the look of a potential misfit and I don't want partner getting too excited
  18. you can't bid 1NT over 1♦ if you are not playing Walsh and many would frown on it even if they were. I would expect responder to pass 1NT if scoring is MPs and call 2♦ if it were IMPS
  19. IMO not forcing and should be unclear who is making what. Yes, X is an opinion that it is not making but it is too dangerous to try and transfer the responsibility to partner in nebulous auctions like this.
