  1. brutal, maggieb and I have the same picks left and shes 3 ahead of me, guess that's why I can't win.
  2. yes, this hand will play much better in diamonds than 3N. This hand looks way too good for a mixed raise to me.
  3. I don't get it? edit: Oh this is one of those things colorblind people cant read but other people can... and I figured out what it said because it's on the heading of the link. Pretty funny.
  4. How sure are you that 5♣ shows this, rather than some very strong one-suiter, or a strong 4-6 in the minors? Seriously? Because I would bid 4C forcing to begin with if I had clubs. 4H absolutely agrees spades. If I had something like 3145 or 2245 I would just double a second time before bidding clubs. With 6 clubs I am happy to bid 4C expecting partner to bid 4D if they have 4 of them.
  5. What hand are you expecting partner to have to bid 2S freely where slam is not good given that all finesses are onside? Anyways, I would drive to at least 6, we might have a grand opposite xxxxx xxx Kxxx x or the like. I see no risk of giving away vital information by trying to have a cuebidding sequence where partner cuebids both minors, so I will start with 4H. Over 4S I will bid 5C. If this gets 5D from partner I can bid 5H. If this gets 6C from partner I will bid 7.
  6. I'd lead a small club, seems less dangerous than the HK.
  7. Yeah, but a doubleton spade seems just so much more likely than three of them. Agreed, not saying I would bid 3N, I just thought it was LOL that the discussion about bidding 3N vs 5D all assumed partner had a doubleton spade. I think bidding 3S would be kind of sexy to deflect the spade lead against 5D though.
  8. Obviously if partner has a doubleton spade we would all bid 5D (I hope!). The reason to think about playing 3N is the times that partner has three spades and you can lose the first 3 whereas you will make 3N usually.
  9. I mean no offense, it sucks to get screwed by random stuff like this, but deep down inside do you really think there is some chance that your opponent figured out what the position was, then figured out that if they revoked you would safety play for down 1? Like honestly, do you really feel like that's what might have happened? It seems to me that looking for a director to direct this is just grasping at straws because you got screwed by bad luck.
  10. lmao, you gotta be kiddin me if you think east is some diabolical bridge genius that figured out you would take a safety play for down 1 by revoking. The play had probably gone pretty quick to this point to, if east figured this all out in normal tempo they are the second coming of the hideous hog and I bow to them.
  11. LHO seems to have Tx AKJx AKxxxx ? He would double with or without the CK with that hand (which makes hooking a huge percentage play). Not clear we can take much inference from his failure to drive out the diamond, but if there is any inference to be drawn it's that he was panicked that we could run the clubs. Of course he may be worried about that looking at the CK if he thinks we will drop it, but it's certainly much more tempting to drive diamonds if you think you will win the CK and cash a bunch of winners. Anyways, I would hook. It is percentage and the only relevant inference points towards it also. BTW if you really can't escape in 2C after your 1N gets doubled then that is really silly.
  12. 2S (P) 5D Playing with an expert, isn't this bid 6S if you don't have 2 fast S losers? 3D would be forcing, so what do you bid holding - AKxx AKQxx xxx A no
  13. 7C, I also play 4N as not RKC.
  14. 6C is obvious if I'm so terrible that I have bid this way to start with.
  15. 3C and see what happens. 3N is completely hopeless, if you bid 3C and partner bids 3S do you really want to play in 3N? lol. At the very least the possibility of a 3S bid should cause you to bid 3C. I am going to bid 4D unless partner bids 3H over 3C. That would turn me off enough.
