I'm not an TD, but I "think": 1) Yes, south can bid again. After 4♠ he can easily know that he misbided. Also his partner can find out what happened. Especially if it is not an expert level bridge (they don't make mistakes :P ) These things sometimes happens to me also. And I always select the less favourable of sensible bids for us. But to stay in 4♠ is clear non-sence. I think that the information was of low use here. (I don't think that 4♠ should be taken as shortage, but if yes imho in this case 5♥ is also right bid) 2) Nothing to rule. If they play 5♥, everyone should know what happened. I don't even think that the declarer should warn you before lead (but it would be kind). I make an exception to this: I would adjust score if the opponents were really begginers and there is suspicion that they could not find out what happened.

[hv=d=s&v=b&s=sajxxxxhjdkqxcqjx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♠ - p - 2♠ - 3♥ 3♠ - p - 4♠ - p p - 4NT - x - 5♥ p - p - x - all 4NT = minors What will be your lead and what are your ideas of other hands?

I passed. Pard had: [hv=d=e&v=n&s=saxhaxxxxxdjxxxck]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Easy 4♥ :rolleyes:

[hv=d=n&v=n&n=sxhq10xxdakxck108xx&s=saxhakxxxdxxxca9x]133|200|Scoring: IMP The x's in South hand are really small.[/hv] The bidding goes: 1♣ - p - 1♥ - p ? 2♥: 12-14, 4♥ & shortness 3♥: 15-17, 4♥ & shortness 4♥: 18-19, 4♥ & shortness 3♠: usually 15-17 (but this is not strict), ♠ void or singleton, with exceptional hand only.

[hv=d=e&v=n&s=sk10xxhjxxdakxcxxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1♠ - p - p - 2♥ p - ?[/hv] I bid pass. Do you think it makes sense or I just should invite? (2♥ are promissing 10-15). I have "wasted" spade values and empty clubs (all clubs honours will be behind partner's clubs). If partner has ♥AK, some ♣ and ♦Q he will accept, but this could be quite wrong. If he is missing ♥ honour, it will be (most probably) behind him.

Our methods are: 1NT can contain 3-card support without shortness and 9-12 after 1♠ - 1NT - 2♣ - 3♠ shows bad limit raise after 1♠ - 1NT - 2♠ - 3/4♠ shows bad limit raise (3♠ invite) (1♠ - 1NT - 2♠ - 3/4♠ can be made also with dubleton) 1♠ - p - 1NT - x 2♠ - p - 4♠ Bad limit raise, maximum

OK, thanks for all the posts. I thought I shoudn't said 2♠, but I see my bid was OK. We ended in 4♠x one down. Was it just pity or there was some bad bidding? [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sj82hkq942d86ca62&s=skq9654hadj92cq75]133|200|Scoring: IMP 1♠ - p - 1NT - x 2♠ - p - 4♠ - p p - x - all[/hv]

Partner ma skoro cokoli pod GF (to by drazil na tretim stupni). Bude mit max. 3 srdce, (4)5 kar a 3+ trefy. Cekal bych 5♦ - 4♣ a klidne jen dubl srdce.
-

[hv=d=s&v=n&s=skq9654hadj92cq75]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1♠ - p - 1NT - x ? 1NT forsing (we play 2/1)[/hv] What are your reasons to bid/not bid.

[hv=d=n&v=e&s=sa98hak1042d9cj1072]133|100|Scoring: IMP p - 1NT - p - 2C p - 2D - p - 3NT all[/hv] What will be your lead? As you can assume the low ♥ was wrong. The right one was ♥A. Can you think out that ♥A is better or it just is not better? Does the ♠A help you (partner is very weak, opps 24, you 12, partner max 4)?

[hv=d=n&v=n&s=sakxxhk109xxxdxcxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 2♠ - 3♣ - 3♥ - 4♦ 4♥ - x - ? 2♠ = 8-10, (5)6+♠ I know we have ten spades so I tested the second fit, so I know whether we should bid on 5th level. Does this make sence? What would you bid?

Early in the match we had such an interresting situation: 1♦-1♥-3♦-3♥-p-p The last opponent did not pass, just took his bidding cards off (he does it every time). I and my RHO thought that the bidding stopped at 3♦ with three passes, LHO and CHO thought that the final contract is 3♥ and the remove of bidding cards was as final pass. I prepared the lead (face down), waited for about 10s and when nobody comlains I lead. LHO shows dummy and says, that the final contract is 3♥. The director was called and we all agreed to call this board as mismatch and scratch it (0 imp for all). Who is guilty (well, more guilty). How would you rule? (Please no shooting of all players)

Pass wasn't on my mind at this position, 11HCP agains (11)12-14. But I see am bit too agressive, well pass is also a bid (and now I am convinced, it is the right bid). It is true that 3NT are there just because opps ♥ are 3-3.

[hv=s=sak7h10dk864cj8752]133|100|[/hv] 1♥ - p - 1NT - p 2♥ - p - ? As I read this forum I should say 2NT with this hand (we play 3♣♦ as weak here). My idea was that 2♠ is forsing and therefore stronger then 2NT non-forsing. Is this completly dumb?
-
For sure it is possible to enumerate all possibilities. But I'm bit lazy to do this. a) K9xx J has x% ... i) fails at afg, successes at bckl etc. I've done it for Q9xx A108xx, it took about 30 minutes. I think that here could be a known best cardplay. Few years ago I translated one such a article but this combination wasn't included.

He would not, we are playing weak NT. So what would pd bid on a min. strong NT and 4-card support? This is the main hand I want to play game opposite. We play it this way: 1♣ - p - 1♠ - p 1NT = 15-17, balanced, could be with 4♠ 2NT = 18-19, balanced, could be with 4♠ 2♠ = 12-14, unbalanced, 3+♠ 3♠ = 15-17, unbalanced, 4+♠ 4♠ = 18-19, unbalanced, 4+♠ Splinters are possible but usually not used (only exceptional hands and/or voids).
-
Why would he bid 3♠ with just 13-14 points? What could be his bid with 17? With AK10x xxx x AK10xx, I'll say 3♠, but not a weaker hand.
-
I encouraged this problem during bidding (partnership misunderstanding). What should this sequence promise or how you play it? 1♥ - p - 1NT - p 2♥ - p - 2♠ (We play 2/1; 1NT forsing, without 4+♠).

[hv=n=sat62&w=s&e=s&s=sq853]399|300|[/hv] How to play this for just one looser (you need 3 spade tricks)?
-
First hand: [hv=d=w&v=b&s=sa1093h64dkj103cq43]133|100|Scoring: IMP p - 1♣ - p - 1♠ p - 2♠ - p - ? [/hv] Second hand: [hv=d=w&v=b&s=sa1093h64dkj103cq43]133|100|Scoring: IMP p - 1♣ - p - 1♠ p - 2♠ - p - ? [/hv] 1♣ = 2+♣, could be 4-4, if ♣ are better then ♦ (now opener has 4+♣, because he is unbalanced) (Other opennings: 1♦=4+♦, 1NT=11-14) 2♠ = 3+♠, 12-14, unbalanced - usually singleton somewhere Any suggestion why you would or would not invite are welcome.

BTW: Will there be some support for larger screen sizes (i have 1440x900)?

I am sorry, this was probably explained in some other thread, but I've not found it. Is there some guide how to use FD? Just an example for Precision: 1C, 16 1C-1D, 0-7 or 4441 8+ 1C-1D-1H, 16-23, 5+ can you help me how to enter this (What are possible outcomes?). Second, how to export it into say: 1C, 16 1C-1D 1C-1D-1S 1C-1H ... 1D 1D-1H ... Thanks a lot and sorry for not finding the right thread.

OK, 3♥ are the winner. I bid them also. This was the dummy: [hv=n=sk64ha4d105cq108752&s=s1072hk1087653dk93c]133|200|[/hv] ♥J - ♥A - ♥2 - ♥3 ♦8 - ♦10 - ♦2 - ♦K ♦3 - ♦5 - ♦J - ♦4 Now East leads ♥9, how will you play hearts? The situation is: [hv=n=sk64ha4d105cq108752&s=s1072hk1087653dk93c]133|200|[/hv]
