Do you have an agreement with you regular partner about REDBL (of 3NT). Is it expressing doubt or confidence in making 3NT?
-
Yes, GF relay (we call it Bourke relay, but not sure if that is correct)

[hv=d=s&v=n&s=sakxxhxxxdaxxxcqx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♦-(pass)-2♣!-(pass) 2♦-(pass)-2♥!!-(DBL) Pass!!!-(3♣)-3♦-(pass) 3♠-(pass)-3NT-(pass) pass-(DBL)-RDBL-(pass) ?? 1♦=4+card♦ (opening 5542) 2♣!=GF ♣ or inv minor ♦ 2♦=any 12-14 2♥!!=GF (could have bid 2NT with slam interest in ♦ OR 3♦ non-forcing (limit) ♦ raise) (2♠ and 3♣ would have been natural and GF) Pass!!!=no ♥ control 3♦=Not agreed (should be GF with ♦-fit and no slam interest OR 3c♦ raise?) Do you agree with 3♠? Two suits are shown by opps and therefor 2♥ would show and not ask ♥-stop? How do you generaly play RDBL of 3NT: "I'm sure that we will make this" or "Do you have some partial stop?" or "run!"? Pass or run with the given hand?

Fluffy's post about physical fitness triggered a more general question for me: What contributes to better concentration at the bridge table? Exercise (always concentrate as good possible) seems logic, but are there other factors? (...don't concentrate when dummy , caffeine, no alcohol, nicotine, make sure you face the window iso nice girl at the bar....)? Remark: I often think when the trick is closed: What card did partner play, Did he play the 2 or the 5?

happy birthday!! (...wouldn't post this for God)
-
Isn't this making the 2nd line much better then the 1st one? You also win when Spade are 3-3 (play on S if no ♣K or ♣Q).
-
4252 and certainly 4135 are unlikely after the 3NT bid. Responder would have started with 2♦ / 2♣
-
1. 2NT on the first one. A fit in the minors is very likely. This would be a more difficult decision at IMPs. 2. DBL. (more difficult then the 1st one for me)
-
- Against 2-suited cue like 1♥-(2♥) or 2-suited NT like 1♣-(2NT) we play that DBL is penalty oriented. It is probably better to play that if opps bid one of the 2 suits then DBL is takeout? - I had: [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sakqxhxdqj9xcqjxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] What do you bid after: 1♣-(2♥=5+♥ and 4c♠)
-
1♣-(2♥)-?? 2♥=4c♠ and 5+♥; about 8-14 pts What is?: 2♠ 3♥ 3♠

Right, declarers hand was: AJxx Qxx Kxx Qxx I was declarer and RHO first played ♣J and unblocked ♣K next. I played LHO for ♦J and was -1.

-
IS 3♦ over 3♣ showing this hand and will you pass if partner would bid 3NT over it? Or can you also bid 3♦ over 3♣ with a weak hand?
-
[hv=d=n&v=n&s=sxxhkxxdatxxxckqx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] (Pass)-1♣-(2♦)-?? 2♦ is preemptive, but can be wide ranging with a passed partner. Is penalty pass a good idea at this vulnerability? This was my bidding: (Pass)-1♣-(2♦)-Pass (Pass)-3♣-(Pass)-3NT All pass
-
[hv=d=e&e=sktxxhajxdqtxxca7&s=sqxhkxxxdjxxxckj2]266|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You are South. Only East-West bid: 1♦-1♠ 2♠-3NT All Pass Your partner leads ♣5, 4th best. And declarer plays ♣7 from dummy. What ♣ do you play? (What do you know about points of partner, distribution of partner, How do you see the defense to defeat 3NT?) ...2nd decision below... If declarer gets the lead (if necessary he will cross to dummy with ♠K), he plays a ♦ to his ♦K and your partners ♦A. Your partner will play ♣2. What ♣ do you play now?
-
I play that 2NT shows 18-19 and 3NT (13)14. More space for slem investigation.
-
yes, bu he will pass with eg 2 aces? ♠Axxx ♥xx ♦Axxx ♣xxx
-
This is not good if LHO kept: ♠--- ♥--- ♦AT9 ♣Q52 ♠--- ♥Kx ♦KJ ♣AT ♠--- ♥Q6 ♦Q2 ♣J4 When you play ♣ then LHO will play A and return a ♣. It is better to keep in dummy then: ♠--- ♥x ♦AT ♣Q52 You play ♣ and LHO takes Ace and returns ♣, but he will be squeezed on 3th ♣ because you can throw him in if he did put ♥K singleton.

♠ xxx ♥ AKQ?xx ♦ x ♣ ATx Would you bid 3♥ with ♥J or ♥T?
-
Assuming your subject line is a question, yes! 2 or 3
-
If you bid 3♥: I understand that 2♥ does not feel right with 7 tricks, but what is the limit for 2♥? Would you also rebid 3♥ with: ♠xxx ♥AQJxxx ♦x ♣AKT or with: ♠xxx ♥AKJxxx ♦x ♣AJT
-
It is only forcing because you use 3♣ as a splinter. So basically 2♣ is the same as standard, but it is forcing instead of almost forcing. No. (I don't know Gazzilli, but I don't think that we play it.
-
[hv=d=s&s=sxxxhakqxxxdxcatx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♥-1♠ ?? You play a rather standard system here, (only special is that you can bid 2♣ forcing)
-
my proposal for the list: http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=5480

If 5♣ is a cue agreeing ♥, what is an example hand with which you first passed over 2♠?
