I do that too, and I think it's very effective. We each put our auctions into a spreadsheet which highlights the differences. The only downside is the feeling of horror when you first see how many sequences are highlighted. Does it not have the disadvantage that you see both hand and tend to bid to the correct contract iso to the contract you would reach seeing only one hand?

I prefer 'difficult' bidding excersises. A hand generator risks to generate lots of hand where the bidding is straightforward.

Sorry, partner had ♣KJ and a ♦ more.

[hv=d=s&v=n&n=sjxxhaxxxdqxxckjx&s=skxhkqjtxxdcaqtxx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♥-(2♦!)-(3♦!)-3♥! DBL-(3♠)-Pass-(Pass) 4♣-(pass)-4♥-4♠ 5♣-(Pass)-5♥-All Pass 2♦!=♦ and ♠, mostly better ♦ then ♠, strength like 1-level overcall. 3♦!=limit raise ♥ 3♥!=limit raise ♠ Making 7 after a ♦ lead. I wanted to bid slow and kind of hoped that they didn't save or mabe DBLed me. But I did bid too (s)low  . What did I show with bidding 1♥..DBL..4♣..5♣ and what is the difference with 1♥...4♣...5♣

If you start with 1♥ it continous: 1♥-(2♦!)-(3♦!)-3♥! ?? 2♦!=♦ and ♠, mostly better ♦ then ♠, strength like 1-level overcall. 3♦!=limit raise ♥ 3♥!=limit raise ♠ (Why start 1♥ iso 3♦?: not strong enough; or the 6c♥ that will be more difficult to show?)

Useful that it also contains opps bidding. Thanks! Finished this one with my partner via e-mail. Interesting hands & easy to bid them via email because E and W are in different pdf files (easy to mail one of them to partner). It is an entertaining and interesting 10 minutes away from other things some times per day. I can really advice this to partnerships who want to improve their bidding. ....Any other sites with bidding deals?....

[hv=d=s&v=n&s=skxhkqjtxxdcaqtxx]133|100|[/hv] To start; What do you open: 1♥: 5c Majors 3♦: preempt ♥, GF ♠ or GF ♥ and minor

Loosing 1♣, 3♥, and 2♠'s for min 3. Who to blame?: Both N and S stretched the bidding, or is N or S more to blame, or is this unlucky (that E was able to DBL it)?

What is the difference between 3♦ and the following invite: 1NT - 2♦ 2♥ - 3♥ We have 3♦ to invite. 1NT-2♦-2♥-3♥ is slam interest

[hv=d=n&v=n&s=skj9ht8xxxxdqxxcx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Your partner opens 1NT: 15-17, standard without 5cMajor, but can sometimes have a singleton, a 5c Major, a 6c Minor... You options are (some kind of Beeman): 1) 2♦ transfer to ♥. Partner will bid: a ) 3♥ with a 4c♥ (not 4333) and min or b ) 2NT with a 4c♥ (not 4333) and max 2) bid 3♦: limit with an unknown 6c Major. Partner will bid: a ) 3♥ if he is minimum for ♥ b ) something else if not minimum for ♥ (3♠:good ♥, bad ♠ / 4♣: bid your suit in transfer / 4♦: bid you suit). ...How do you start and when do you continue to Game? ...and how close is (what other options you considered)?

no answer, but questions from me: - Is pass forcing here? (Partner's 3♣ was GF, so we will not pass out 3♠)? - Is DBL penalty or showing values?
-
yes Ok that wasn't really fair, a lot of people use 2C as artificial and forcing and it has merit. You would need to put in a lot of works on the followups at least. Thank you ...I wondered if all my methods were bad
-
If you bid 2♣ with this hand... Is it bad to play 2♣ as forcing and 3♣ as mini-splinter (12-14 or 18-19) with ♥-fit?
-
Can you bid 4♦ and if partner cues and you RKC with 4NT then bid 6♣ to give partner a choice or would 6♣ be something else?
-
Some small blame for North because he did bid 3♣ iso supporting his partner by bidding 3♦?

(we have the agreement that it is forcing without the 2♣ bid, not sure that it should still be forcing after the intervention of 2♣) No real agreements about 3♣ except that it shows a better then minimum hand. ATB for being in 3NT iso 6♦

[hv=d=s&v=b&n=satxhxxdaktxxxcxx&s=sxxxhakxdqxxcqxxx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Opps don't bid: Pass-1♦ 2NT-3♦ All Pass Should North bid 3NT iso 3♦ because his ♦'s are good and a potential source of tricks? Should South bid 3NT after 3♦ because he has ♦Qxx and ♦'s will therefor be a likely source of tricks? ...or is the bidding ok?
-
Thanks all for the answers: Seems like following set of agreements makes sense: - In a supported suit lead top of nothing - In a not supported suit lead 3th best (or smallest if your 3th best could be confused with a doubleton). - In a not bid suit lead 3th/5th best, but lead high from honour sequence like JTx.., T9x... (98... should not be considered a honour sequence). I still have following open question from one of the posts: Remark: I have the additional rule with my partner that we give count with our lead. From a sequence, we lead highest with an even number of cards and 2nd with an odd number of cards (HESO: High=Even, Second=Odd).
-
I play obvious switch with my partner. ♥ is the obvious switch suit here. A low ♣ means that I don't have anything in ♥ (The Ace in this case); a high says I have something in ♥. You can play ♠ if I played a low ♣
-
Why do you lead 6 from T962 and T from T92? Is there a reason to lead 3rd best from 4 card and high from 3 card? I would would have expected this the other way around because high from 4-card will less often be confused with a doubleton then high from a 3 card?
-
If you play 3rd / 5th leads what do you lead... In a suit that partner overcalled, but you didn't have the chance to support?: T962 T842 9842 T92 T82 982 In a suit that was not called by partner: T9642 T962 T842 9842 T92 T82 982 (I gues from JT... the J is clear?)
-
I play: 4♣=♣ and Major 4♦=Both majors 4NT= Not Defined. If my partner bids this then I would take it as a very strong 2-Suiter (Like 2 or 3 loosers)
-
You mean after?: (1♠)-DBL-(1NT)-2♥ (2♠)- 2NT/3♥ are both fit, with 2NT stronger. ...what about?: (1♠)-DBL-(1NT)-2NT (Pass)-3♣/3♦-(Pass)-3♥ vs (1♠)-DBL-(1NT)-3♥

[hv=d=w&v=e&n=skjxxxxhtxxxdxcqt&w=saqxhaxdaqxcaxxxx&e=sxxhkqjxxxdxxckxx&s=s98hxdkjt9xxxcjxx]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Thanks for answers! I was squeezed in the minors. East played ♠Q and took the ♠ return with his partners A. Then he played all his trumps and I was squeezed in the minors. I don't think that there is a way to mislead East by hiding a ♦? Can East play differently and go down without me bidding 4♦?
