[hv=d=s&v=n&n=skt8xhxxxdqxcaqxx&s=sjxxhkjxxdakckjxx]133|200|1NT-2H (4c xfer) 2S-3NT[/hv] [hv=d=s&v=n&n=skt8xhxxxdqxcaqxx&s=sjxxhkjxxdakckjxx]133|200|1NT-2H (4c xfer) 2S-3NT[/hv] LHO leads ♦J in both cases. How do you play these contracts? I think you'll have to play on Spades in both case, but how? (I thought that I had the 2nd hand, but also that I needed 3 tricks from Spades....my memory :( ...Looks a lot like last combi shown by Justin...)
-
Yes, maybe....(The more I think about it the less I'm sure that is shows a waek two-suiter). But for others: you can suppose that 3D shows a weak S/D two-suiter.

Exactly the same answers for me. On board 1, I'll bid 4NT only if I'm able to bid it fast. I don't want my RHO to know I've made a borderline bid. On board 2, DBL may very well help them if they intended to play in the 4-4 in 4♥. And I'm not so sure partner will like to declare any doubled contract if he has 3523 in a 0-4HCP hand. me too, on 2nd if I DBL , I expect that opps will still play the contract, but they will make more tricks when I have DBled.

[hv=d=s&v=b&s=saqtxxxhkxdt9xxxc]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 2♦!-(Pas)-2♠!-(3♣) 3♦ 2♦=multi 2♠=preempt or invite for ♥ (Our multi also contains a GF in minor, but partner will not take 3♦ as GF. You can be sure of that).

[hv=d=s&s=skqxhxdkxxxcakt9x]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♣-1♦! 1NT-2NT! 3♣!-3♥ 3♠-5♦ ?? 1♣=can be 2c (you open 5542) 1♦=transfer 1NT=max 2c♥ (can be singleton if no better bid) 2NT=transfer ♦ 3♣=extra's for ♦ 3♥=cue our hounours in ♥ (You have agreed to play no real cues below 3♠, so raher honours). 3♠= 1st/2nd control No real agreements about 5♦, If you think that 4♦ is forcing - which probably is - then it would have been RKC for ♦,. Partner could also have started with 1♠ -transfer ♦ - followed by bidding ♥ and that would have been a reverse, normally better then the above sequence.

Thanks all for the answers!! One last question: Are encrypted signals always and everywhere prohibited? Or is it allowed on high level tournemente or on local club tournements (because these locals don't have any specific regulations beside the law book).
-
Yes exactly. In other words, no exactly the other way around. yes exactly: the other way around. ....there is some logic in it (increased change of ducplication), but still surprising. If you expect that partner always has at least 2 honnours in his 6-card, then H is probably always better?
-
We play HESO leads: Lead Highest of a sequence with an Even number of cards. Lead Second of a sequence with an Odd number of cards. In our last match our opps told us that this is an encrypted signal. Because if I a have the A and my partner leads the K then I know that he has an even number in that suit and opps don't know it. But if the leader has the A then he knows it and I don't. ..Is this an Encrypted signal? I don't think so. Additonal question: What is an example of an Encrypted signal? Thanks, Koen

I was verifying this with suitplay and it prefers to lead the J for 3 tricks. Aren't you forgetting?: AQ9xx-v
-
Han, Thanks a lot for the simulation: ..to be sure...Was this opposite the example hand?: AQxx=xxx=Axx=xxx ..and so: If partner is weak you are better off if he has Hearts; If he has 11 pts you are better of if he has Spades?
-
Yep...gl with them on their lead  So you will rebid 4 with any 7cS and some points in S? ..And maybe bid 4 immediatly with weaker hands if NV?
-
Smaller then the others I think and "Belgian" level: 26-Dec in Leuven-Belgium http://www.vbl.be/Upload/Calender/ADV_Mara...e%20NL_2009.jpg
-
...Do you still bid 4 without ♦Q? Or what other minimum change would be required to bid only limit iso game with a 7c♠?

[hv=d=n&s=saktxxxxhxxxdqxcx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♣-1♥! 1NT-?? 1♥=transfer ♠ 1NT=natural, but denies 3c♠ 2,3 or 4♠? (In our system: ..2♥ xfer- 2♠ ..2♥ xfer- 2♠-3♠: limit 6c♠ ..4♥ xfer to 4♠
-
Thanks for the simulation. You can assume 10-12 HCP for the 4th hand opening. That will increase the chance of S duplicates? (It would surprise me if this would make H the better contract). You are doing the simulation with 6cH and same hand with 6cS opposite?
-
2♦= GF artificial 3♦= splinter 4♦= void
-
Exactly what me partner told me, I agreed with him, but it felt too counter intuitive (...is this English?) to accept. He said that without ruffing values in my hand it is better to have a 6cH opposite.
-
Your partner opens 2D in 4th hand. 2D is multi and most probably weak 2 major, but a very good one in 4th hand. You have : AQxx=xxx=Axx=xxx If I forced you to play game, do you prefer that your partner has a 6c♥ or a 6c♠?
-
Is your control bidding at low level the same as at higher level; Do you also bid short controls? E.g.: Can 3C in below sequence be a singleton, e.g singleton ♣Q (I guess that you would often jump to 4♣ with a small singleton)? 1D-1H 1S-2C 2D-2S 3C
-
What does this mean in your system?
kgr replied to Bende's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
1♣- at least 2c♣ 1♦ transfer ♥ 1♥- 3c♥ forcing 1♠ 4c♥, 4c♠ forcing 1NT- 12-14; 4/5c♣;3c♥, No 4c♠; 2♣ To play; weak 4144 (This is different if 1♣ is opened in 3rd hand. No T-Walsh then) -
You play 4th suit GF and 1st and 2nd controls: 1D-1H 1S-2C 2D-2S 3C-3D 3H You agreed that 2S sets the fit (and because of 2C it is GF). How do you play 3C and 3D here, Do you prefer that 'controls' under 3S are: - bidding out your distribution - bidding out your distribution, but bids also promiss some strength in the suit. - 1st/2nd controls - 1st/2nd controls but no shortness (King or Ace). - Anything else? Optional: I did also add a 3H bid in the bidding example. What would that be related to your previous answer?
-
Who would you be trying to fool? ..not trying to fool, but being influenced. Why are not 4 hands shown when people ask on the forum what we would bid? Because seeing all hands would give different bids then seeing only one hand..My opinion.
