  1. The options as i see them 1. bid 2c and forget about diamonds. 2. bid 2c planing to bid diamond later or 4nt to show two suiter with longer club 3. bid 2nt to show minors 4. bid 4nt to show minors. I think i'll go with 4nt.
  2. Ty chamaco. And Richard i agree with you that there is no connection between what we call natural and the world natural, but natural doesnt mean what im playing, it mean what most are playing. in israel that is 5 card major better minor, but i bet in poland natural mean polish club.
  3. bid double (lol i was teaching a group today, was trying to explain to them that sometimes you will responde 2c over opener's 1M with only 3 cards, and this guy kept telling me he would double, no matter how much i tried to explain, he insisted on doubling his partner) I am not sure 2d show a completely different hand.
  4. There is no standard method defined for this sequence, how do you know what you say is the normal way?, just because 90% people consider it that way?, I think mine is the normal B) :D :) me too :D
  5. Its ok to play 1s to show 4 but this isnt the normal way and since there was no alert in the question we can assume its 5 card.
  6. I think there is a place for no Psyches tournaments, especially in online bridge. in Online bridge the players are anonimous and this could lead to some actions that the same players would not make in offline bridge, i think a TD should be allowed to make a no psyches rule. Beside that maybe BBO can arange some sort of Psyches reconding, but i doubt this will worth the affort.
  7. well even if you are right, i still dont like leading 9 from 96543. But i dont know if you are right, atleast with my partner Gijsh we dont consider 10 as an honor althought i will lead low from 10xxxx many times (but this isnt our system just common sense)
  8. Its not that much different then what your probebly playing today, just lead high intead of second high when you dont have honors. I dont like leading high from long suits like 10 7 5 4 3 leading the 10 looks like a mistake to me, but leading the 10 of 10 7 5 seems fine and can help partner play low when its right.
  9. Ruffing a 5-2 suit without taking trumps out first is not everyday play, you know you will be overruffed. playing from the short side usually only happend after transfer. ruffing at the long trumps side only, which is called reversing dummy isnt that common especially when your short side is so weak. I guess those are among the ressons why there is no pattern for this hand in my mind.
  10. You cant ruff diamonds in your hand because this will make you lose controll over the hand. Also you cant take out the A of club first like said before you. I guess over the many years i play i develope a sense for most hands play, and this one is not include there and thats what made it one hard for me.
  11. They doesnt have to play the club for you ;)
  12. the best discard is diamond, if diamonds work you will have enough tricks anyway. Discarding a spade is not good because on a heart continuation if the diamonds doesnt work you will be left with short of entries to dummy. discarding the A of spade isnt good either because then you will lose 5 tricks if diamonds are 3-2 (3 clubs 1D 1S)
  13. your structure is just fine, unlike what i understood you do bid 2nt with minimum, this in other words mean , i dont see much alternative because im weak and therfore no point in showing my stopers.
  14. well it wasnt normal to me. Can you explain to me, how do you play this like i was your student, i mean what is your plan, do you count losers or winers ?
  15. most people dont play inv after interfirence, so 1c (1s) 2c is not inv for most The most importent thing to understand about your question is the principle of alternatives, its has no point to check for stopers if you're only chance is 3nt (not strong enough for 5c or 4M) you always should keep this in mind. now when you ask if Aj is a stoper or not, its also a matter of alternatives, if you dont see many alternatives then even 10xxx is a great stoper, but if there is a good alternative its not. After 1c-2c it is wrong to just bid you're stopers with any hand, either build a better structure (search the site the were some suggestings including fred's) or just bid stopers when you see a good alternative. 1c (1s) 2s Is not a pure spade stoper ask, partner only care for the stoper if he got an alternative contract so this is usually a club fit, its not forcing you to show a stoper, but if you got one you most likely would bid nt.
  16. for me a bid like 3sp never invite in cometitve aution. redouble show points and tends to offer penalty on the opponents. If you want to invite and have no bid for it then you have to choose between game and partsoce, make it fast so your opponents will not know whats happening. in cometitve many time you cant have a sientific aution , you just shoot and hope for the best. 4. If you have a very strong hand you can start with redouble.
  17. Ben this is good, but i think in order to get a feel for how good it function you need to comare it with another evaluation system even a simple one.
  18. You said AK of clubs but didnt say what continued, i am guessing heart. play AK of diamond you cant afford not trying for 3-2 diamond (or sng 10/Q) even if its a question in a forum. If diamonds doesnt work, play a spade to dummy, then play club, they take and come back with heart, take that play A of spade and another spade, they will let give you the entry entry.
  19. I'm not sure what the results mean, its ovious any system evaluation which doesnt have to find bids will do better then real biddings. I think only comaring with other systems will tell us how good zar did.
  20. misho i think just like me the line with the heart ruffing looks wierd to you, its just not something you should usually and therefore for us expirence players it looks wierd but i think here its the best, it win everytime hearts are 4-2 or 3-3 and might servive even if not.
  21. I think you can assume nothing, I would assume 2/1 after major is GF but even this is far from sure there is the version that rebid the suit with less then GF. In general you would be better the less you assume, if you like to assume things find yourself a serious partner.
  22. I play that after 1C) - P - (2H) - 2S (3H) - 4S = not creating a forcing pass 4H = creating a forcing pass. (say nothing about the hearts holding) a part from this im also think that a general rule that when we bid a vul game we should be in forcing pass situation, maybe the best is to combine those and add only when there wasnt a simple bid (like 4h here) that could be used to creat the forcing pass, therfore : 1C) - P - (2H) - 2S (3H) - 4S - (P) - P (5H) - P = not forcing since could used 4h while 1C) - P - (2H) - 2S (4h) - 4S - (P) - P (5H) - P = forcing since there wasnt a simple alternative.
  23. When we are strong and they overbid us like in 1s (2h) 3h* (4h) 4sp (5h) ? 3h= fit inv+ There are two ways to play this, i most common is the forcing pass, this mean a dbl show the bad or more defensive hand and discarage partner from bidding, while pass inc her to bid. The alternative way Double increage pass discarage and ask partner to double. I am little sleepy now (about 4 am) but i think few days ago when i did my analyzing i found the alternative way to be a little bit better.
  24. Hi everyone I invite any intermidiate or beginer to watch me play on BBO, you may ask why me oviously im not the best player out there, the extra i can give is a serious responding to any question in an after game emailing, I think you can learn alot from it. I play on BBO with Gijsh usually twice a week, and also play with others . If you want i can let you know on my meetings with Gijs, the next one is on saturday 18 UTC. my BBO nick is WGF_Flame
  25. I think i'll go with the 2sp, this is a serious underbid because i would also bid 2sp with Kxx xxxx x xxxxx I dont like the dimonds suit (both its being long and the values in it) if you switch diamonds and clubs i would definetly bid more.
