Precision 1c without negative response
Flame replied to Flame's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
i forgot all about balanced hands with 4 card M, so this structure doesnt worth much, ill think about it tomorrow, as i see it, probebly i cant make it that NT will not be played from responder hand, after 1d this is possible i think. -
Precision 1c without negative response
Flame replied to Flame's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
This became a debate about polish club, which is out of the point. As i see it, losing the 1d negative as done by rumen kalin and suggested here after precision 1c is done for 1 main resson, delivering responder distribution ifnormation quickly , this will benifit mostly if the LHO of respnder is going to interfier. without an interfirence i think 1d negative will probelby be supirior. My task then is to try and constract a system that will be just as good or not too much worse then normal precision when there is no interfirence. one begining of a structure that i just made: 1c 1d/1h = 4 card h/s 1h/1s = 3 card h/s other bids are natural and i wont discussed them here. I'll only give a structue after 1h response since 1d should make this easier (actually give you more choices and its harder) , i tried to bid 1nt by respnder only when we have 8 card major fit, to avoid responder declerering NT, this make things a bit harder. after 1c 1h 1s ? 1NT = any hand with 5 card spade 2C = 4S 5D NF 0-6 hcp (just a range i choose) 2D = 4S 5D NF 0-6 hcp 2H = 4S 5C 7+ Forcing 2S = 4S 5D 7+ Forcing -

Precision 1c without negative response
Flame replied to Flame's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
lol i hope you like surprises. Maybe you need to read those systems again. Its hard for me to understand what you dont understand, maybe its just a matter of definitions, but for me when the system openings are almost identical to polish club then its enough to say this system is a polish club like system. -

IMP or not there is no resson not to make 7 if you can without a risk, and this hand can make 7 with zero risk. -

Precision 1c without negative response
Flame replied to Flame's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
As far as i know RM precision use 1d as a negative response, yes they bid 1h with spades, but not 1d with hearts. same goes for KLP precision I was reffering to a polish club like, which used by the bulgarian, showed here by misho. also nightmare is a polish club like system. bocchi duboin is a good example of a 2/1 system that use this kind of transf. I think thorecticly this kind of trns will be suited for precision even better then to the semi natural 1c bid by those other systems. -
respnding to 1c with some transfer structure looks like a good idea to me.1d=H 1h=S. without a negative response, then bidding the major by the 1 cluber will be a relay and will have enough time to find out on respnder strengh and distribution. transfer structures are used in some 2/1 system and polish club systems, but i never heard of any precision 1c with it. I seems to me it can work very well. Does anyone play this (here or a known player ?)

Precision competitive big club auction
Flame replied to Chamaco's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
Can someone explain this for me, best with an example, i think i just dont get it because of my bad english. -
How do you open and bid this (playing precision)
Flame replied to Chamaco's topic in Interesting Bridge Hands
1. bid 1d, bididng spade later will show the your 6-5. I dont care about them too much prefer to show what i got. 2. if your 3sp showed 5-6 and i think it does then, you should not bid on now, you already showed what you got. 3. you dont have that many alternatives , also not too many dummy entries, playing spade like you said works vs Axx on either hand and also vs Ax on side. as you dont have the entry for a second finnese you can either get in dummy with diamond and play for Ax on RHO, or play K of spade from hand. As a suit play , small to the K is better then playing the K, but here because of the diamonds getting ruff problem, i think the K spade play is better. -
opps said before , no beer for me :(
-
As you played, D to the K then ducked and lost to the J, a spade back, take hand with the A, play a spade to dummy, and another diamond, drop the last spade on this, i think you cant go down now.

I wasnt around on the last few years , but i can see many serious players made a great job developing systems during those years, on daniel site you see links to those guys. not sure what i want to say, maybe just asking if there are new things that i dont know of.

Thx all for replaying, there are some others which im cuirious to see what they would bid, but most already answered. I don't care about the ruling here, just wanted to see what you bid and what you think of the pass bid (this is why i mentioned the director thing) thx

Precision competitive big club auction
Flame replied to Chamaco's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
no, if partner has 2 honors 5 card and no heart ctl then 6 when partner doesnt have AK of spade 6 is triable, and when he does still 6 is less then 40%, so i wouldnt even try to find which top trump honors partner has. -
Precision competitive big club auction
Flame replied to Chamaco's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
1. no when partner show a 5 card suit, support doubles are off. double is imo just a takout bid. 2. yes i think even for the sake of simplicity 2sp should still be tab. 3. slam is very possibe, the 1nt bid makes your K of heart better, tab looks perfect here. if p has all the 3 high then if he doesnt have a heart first cnt i want to be in 6 and if he does i want to be in 7. also if he got all the 3 i prefer 6nt/7nt playing from my hand. if p only has two honors ill then with AKxxxx i still want to be in 6, and with other 2 honors i want to be there only if he got first round ctl in heart. -
This question comes from a debate i have. I need only experts or semi experts votes, explenations will be very welcomed from everyone (not only experts) ?[hv=s=skq743h8765d974cj]133|100|1♦ 1♠ 3♦* ? 3♦= 10+ with fit[/hv] I could bid 4♠ based on the law of TT but i thought this will help the opponents more then me, normally they will be in 5♦ and my 4♠ doesnt help about it, and my bid can also carry them to 6 with the right hand, for example if west hold xxx of spade , will like his hand much better now. I decided to pass it. Later there was also a director situation , because 3D was bid with 4 hcp, and we missed 4sp, they played 4D, the directors said my bid was a ubnormal move and therefore i have no rights to get a corrected score. my questions are, first what do you bid 4s pass 3s or maybe something else. also do you consider this bid as a "move" or a good bridge bid

I had some thoughts about ducking a club at trick 2, this could be nice but 6-1 clubs are too likely so it doesnt worth it. I think you just have to play simple , diamond to the K. Unlike Free i dont fear RHO hand, if i have to choose i want to give him the hand reather then LHO, so wathere the K holds or later, i will finnese to the 9 of diamonds. other lines i thought of but i think not good enough are 1. playing 3 rounds of spade, this could work on some but might lose when LHO has the A of diamond and he comes back with a heart , and i am left with no entry to dummy. 2. playing small diamond from hand, this will work better against A sgl with LHO but A sgl is less likly then a Jxx or 10xx or J10x with 5 clubs, which this line will lose to.

Any thoughts about this system?
Flame replied to Polish Goalie's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
I dont like it very much, i cant say how it will work on the table, i would feel bad not to bid my majors with 11-15 which come up very often. Comparing it with precision, the strongest bids of this systems are imo just like normal precision, 1h and 1S, but it will be rare to open them because you need 16+. Also when you open 1c you need some biddings to deliver your shape , this is easier to do when you have 16+ then when you have 11-15. One last thing, i believe 1h and especially 1s have a premptive value i would like prefer a system that open 1S with 7-8+ hcp. -
For some reason I found this agonizing...
Flame replied to tysen2k's topic in Interesting Bridge Hands
I wouldnt bid 2♠ now :D What can you do, just pass and hope for the best, i wouldnt feel bad about the contract, you have 7 spades, and only playing at the 1 level. -
I would 4D as a premptive bid, if 4D show value then i would bid 3D. I dont like 5d because imo the chances they have a game arent too high. 3nt could be a nice psych bid here.

I want to tell you something in general, As i follow your post about the system, i see you want to play precision but you are looking to implemnt non precision bidding into it, it was 2/1 GF before and now its 2nt jacoby. Im not saying its always a bad idea, just that these stuctures were develpoed to handle the huge opening hcp range, the limit openings oviosly are supirior , and using same structure will get you better results then those who doesnt play precision but , this benefit could maybe be even bigger if you use a structure that suits precision. One thing that makes alot of sense is using relays, since opener is already limit, it could be easy for responder to get the full picture of opener hand.

Hi , this is not apsolutly true, i can tell you that i got my partner from that forum, people dont like to reply on the partnership forum but they are looking at it, Yet no one responded on contacted me about my Watch me post which is sad cause i really believe watching and having a serious discussion about the hands you watched is a great way to learn bridge.

Wrong Contract or Played Badly
Flame replied to hallway's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I just now understand that you went down in 6sp. I guess you ignored the club suit potential, i can tell you are not alone there, i played with more then one partner that for some weird resson would always prefer to use their long suits and not dummy's (mine) , when you see this dummy you must see the great potential in the club suit, 6sp should be too easy for you, u just play 2 spades then A and Q club and throw a heart on this club and u can claim it. This isnt the best play but its should be the ovious play for you. Look at this this way dummy has AQJ10xxx this suit has 6 tricks (you give them the K and the rest is yours), if you only took the A you just ignored 5 tricks, no wonder you go down if you just ignore 5 of your tricks right ? -
Wrong Contract or Played Badly
Flame replied to hallway's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Are you asking after we see the hands or what will we bid ? If after then 7sp, if before its too hard to answer, there could be two eqully good bridge systems , one that will get you to this 7 and one which will not, bidding 7 in a competitive aution (they arent going to be quite here) isnt something you do everyday. I wouldnt blame my partner if we land in 6sp, and im pretty sure it wont be such a bad score (probebly better then avarage on non expert fields)
