...that's why I'm working on it  If I make the 2NT --> 3♥ call GF then I still don't have an invitational. I suppose I could make 3♥ over 2♣ the invite, but I won't have an invitational bid over 2♠ if that's also void-showing.
-
Oh, I get it. So with a strong hand with long clubs he passes? Or does he have a way around that?
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening, 0-bad 12) 2♣ --- 2NT (club void and 16- bad 20/21, invite or better in a suit or GF in NT) 3♣ --- 3♥ (asks for more information, invite or better in hearts) 3♠ --- 3NT (either a spade cue or 3 or fewer hearts, asks for clarification) 4♦ --- 5♥ (agrees hearts, extras) 5NT --- 6♣ (GSF, king or ace of hearts without queen) 6♥ --- P (signoff) The sequence is not finalized, I'm still working on this part, as my slam biddings after opener shows a void are still unrefined. with interference it goes: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (1♠) (see above) 2♠ --- 3♠ (strong hand with hearts and a minor, near maximum with heart support) 5NT --- 6♣ (GSF, K or A without queen) 6♥ --- P Easier with interference.
-
The hand has already been edited into the original post. Thanks, though. 1♦? That's a clear 1NT opener, isn't it? Also, check out the amazing defense in the other thread

I'm not pro enough to end up defending 1♥x ;) Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (1♥) (opening hand, 0-bad 12) dbl --- 2♠ (4+ ♠ and pretty much anything else, 6-9 points and 4 spades  ) 4♠ --- P (signoff) How do you find spades with that system? What do those bids mean?
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening hand, 0-bad 12) 1♠ --- 1NT (19-21, GF) 2♣ --- 2♦ (natural bids) 3NT --- P (Decent 20-21 balanced, nothing more to say) 2NT instead of 3NT shows a 19-bad 20. Both NT bids deny a 4 card major. I should probably change this, because it is much harder to find a 5-3 fit after the 3NT bid.

If south passes then west passes too? If the answer to that is yes, then: Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening, 0-bad 12) 1♠ --- 1NT? (19-21, GF opposite 19-21?) 2♠ --- 3♣ (natural, North doesn't raise because south's bid only promises 4) 3♥ --- 4♠ (5♠4♥, signoff) If North takes a less rosy view of his hand (evaluating it as 5 points instead of 6), then: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (see above) 1♠ --- 2♣ (19-21, specifically not GF opposite 19-21, could be an invite, 6 clubs) 2♠ --- 3♣ (see above) 3♥ --- 4♠ (with a trump fit, north has enough to go to game) If south passes and west bids 1♣: S ---- N P (1♣) P (North has either a weak hand or penalty pass) dbl --- P (reopening, north has a trap pass) (down 2-3 I think) If south passes and west bids 1NT: S ---- N P (1NT) 2♣ (4-8 with at least 5 ♣s) 2♠ --- 3♠ (South should have a good hand or a hand that absolutely can not play in clubs, north invites) 4♠
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: North has to open with this system, as pass shows opening count. N ---- S 3♣ --- 3♥ (weak, forcing) 3NT --- P (signoff) It's pretty self explanatory. :) Got any questions about this, Zelandakh? B-) Of course, if you FORCE North to pass... and cooperate with the system... N --- S P --- 1♠ (opening count?! --- GF anything) 2♣ --- 2♥ (natural bids) 3♣ --- 3♠ (natural bids) 3NT --- 6NT!! (diamond stopper, cowboy blast opposite supposed opener) Except for 6NT, not bad
-
I will make them guess. 3♥.

moving into other post
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening hand, 0-bad 12) 1♠ --- 1NT (19-21 (barely in this case), GF opposite 19-21) 2♠ --- 3♥ (both natural) 3♠ --- 4♣ (natural, cue bid) 4♦ --- 4♠ (cue, signoff) P Note: 4♥ over 3♠ would have been a cue, and to show self-sufficient hearts North would jump to 4♥ over 2♠. That is a snazzy looking system. How do you show weak and strong NT hands?
-
Yeah, that would probably fix the problem. (I don't really take them as picking holes, I was sort of cranky the day I said that :P )
-
North would probably bid 3NT with that.

Prepare to witness a train wreck. [hv=pc=n&s=sq97hj76dakj95ca8&w=sakj6htdt7643ck53&n=st8532haq532dcj96&e=s4hk984dq82cqt742&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=ppp1np2cp2dp2np3nppp&p=sks2s4s7hth2h9hjh7d3hqhkh4h6s6h3sqsas3h8sjs5c2s9d4s8dqdadkd6c6d2djdtc9d8d9d7cjc4d5c3h5c7cac5hactc8ckst]399|300[/hv] First of all: ♥9 on trick two. Why? On trick 4, East returns a HEART! instead of a club. (although it does mess up my communication..) Trick 9: Note the careful unblocking of the ♦10. In addition, note how my opponents NEVER lead clubs, at ANY POINT in the hand. I could have been set 4.

most hideous bolthead atrocity of ALL-TIME
Lord Molyb replied to razorsharp's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
I took the liberty of formatting the post because I couldn't read it; I also corrected some spelling/grammar mistakes. Your first deal is just stupid, why would you psyche a 1♠ bid? Just support hearts, and if the opponents bid spades then you still know what your partner has based on his bidding. The second deal is just unfortunate and that is the robot's fault, as 3♦ isn't the WORST call I've heard today (that would be board four), and you probably got a 60% because quite a few people somehow got to a not-making slam. And lol, "liverworst" is hilarious. -
I don't remember the exact hands- North MIGHT have had 7 points. I'll check. edit: I'm bad at remembering stuff :) yup, 7 points (might not matter though..) [hv=pc=n&s=sq97hj76dakj95ca8&n=st8532haq532dcj96&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=ppp1np2cp2dp2np3nppp]266|200[/hv] edit: holy cow there was horrible defense, might need another thread for it.
-
partner probably has ♠KQxxxxxx ♥ x ♦ xx ♣ xx *shrugs* I'll be content with 6 hearts.
-
lol I was wondering how I got two replies so quickly..

Molybdenum Forcing Pass system: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (1♠) (opening or better, 0-bad 12) dbl --- 2♣ (4 hearts and still unlimited, best suit) 2♠ --- 3♠ (18+ with club support, enough to bid 3nt but no spade stopper) 4NT --- 5♣ (1 key card) P (5NT isn't safe)
-
fixed. by the way you seem to love poking little holes in my uncompleted system (which is still terrible :) )
-
sorry, 1♣ shows 0-bad 12. There is another bid to show a GF hand (1♠) Also the delayed one spade bid means that the hand is not GF opposite the 15-18 points partner has shown, with 4 spades.
-
3♠ instead of 2♠ would generally show 6. and I'm not sure about your second question.
