Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening, 0-bad 12) 1♠ --- 1NT (19-21, GF) 2♠ ---3♣ (natural) 3♦ --- 3♥ (natural, although 3♦ should show 4...) 3NT --- P
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (2♥) (opening, 0-bad 12) dbl (4♥) dbl (general takeout, 2 places to play) P (opposite some values, the contract should go down sufficiently) By the way, I changed first X from showing the other major(s) to takeout (much easier) If east overcalled 1♥ and west cuebid it goes S ---- N P --- 1♣ (1♥) (see above) 2♣ (3♣) P (3♥) (clubs with 16+, not enough unless south bids more) 3NT --- 5♦ (both minors with longer clubs, signoff) That auction is a bit optimistic though.

I didn't notice. Fixed.

[hv=pc=n&s=sak5hdkqt965caj72&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=1hp2h(oops)pp2s]133|200[/hv] Accidentally pulling the 2♥ call instead of 2♦ at matchpoints. What now?
-
Double is too risky, I think. 4♦ for me.

Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♦ (opening, 0-3 or 17+ with 5+ ♥s 2♥ --- P (superaccept with 15-18, too weak)

Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: EDIT: Thanks Zelandakh. This could go two ways: S ---- N P --- 1♥ (opening, 0-3 or 17+ with 5♠ 1♠ --- P (complete transfer) or S ---- N P --- 1♥ (see above) 2♣ --- P (denies spade fit and long clubs (usually 6 or strong 5)) I would probably do the second auction at the table.

Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening, 0-bad 12) 1♠? --- 1NT (19-21?, GF) 2NT --- 3♦ (balanced, transfer) 3♥ --- 3♠ (finish transfer, 5+♥ 4+♠) 3NT --- P

Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: There are two ways this could go, depending on how north values his 16 count: If he treats it as a GF and mild slam interest: S ---- N P --- 1♠ (opening hand, GF artificial) 2♣ --- 2♥ (natural) 3♦ --- 3♥ (5-5 or 5-6 in minors, 6+ ♥s) 4NT --- 5NT (quantitative, accept & choice of slams) 6NT (chooses NT with the most balanced hand possible on the bidding and only one heart) North could also choose the real slam try with semi-balanced hearts: S ---- N P --- 1♦ (Opening hand, either weak or slam try with ♥s) 2♣ --- 2NT (short hearts with ♣s & another (usually 5-5) & generally stronger, 17+ balanced with 5+ ♥s (the slam try)) 3♦ --- 3♥ (5-5 in minors or more, 3-6-2-2 or 2-7-2-2) 6NT --- P (16-17 points, not going further)

This one is a little tricky for my system. Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening hand, 0-bad 12) 1♥ --- 2♣ (15-18, 9- and more clubs than any major suit) 2♦ --- 2♥ (natural bids) 2♠ --- 2NT (natural, 7 to bad 8 invite) P (barely not enough)
-
nah, we were vulnerable.

Cool, I've gotten one also! I got ♠ 75432 ♥6542 ♦ 62 ♣ 42 once in 4th seat. Bidding went something like: (1♠) -2♥ - (3♣) -4♥ (5♣) - 5♥ :o - (dbl) -AP Went down 3, then I explained to my partner I got excited that I got a yarb that was almost useful for once edit: remembered one of the cards wrong

Recover from nonsense finding the queen

relatively, of course. -
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (opening, 0-bad 12) 1NT --- 2NT (22+, transfer to a minor) 3♣ --- 3♥ (complete transfer, shortness GF) 4♣ --- 4♦ (minor suited blackwood, 1KC) 4♥ --- 4NT (queen ask, yes + 7th club) 6♣ --- P (grand slam is only on if north has 3+ diamonds and 50-% otherwise)
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: This could go two ways, depending on whether north decides to open 1♦ or pass. He'll probably pass, so then the following auction unfolds: N ---- S P --- 1♠ (Opening hand, any GF except for major suited slam tries) 2♦ --- 2♠ (natural) 2NT --- 3♠ (natural) 3NT --- 4♦ (natural, cue bid) 4♠ --- P If north opens 1♦... N ---- S 1♦ --- 1NT (0-10 natural, 15+ OR pre-emptive raise forcing for 1 round and artificial) 2♥ --- 2♠ (8-10, relay to 2NT) 2NT --- 3♣ (relay, GF without support) 3♦ --- 3♠ (relay, 6+ ♠) 3NT --- P If this is recorded please include the first one, as I'm likely to pass instead of opening.
-
Molybdenum Forcing Pass System: S ---- N P --- 1♣ (1♠) (opening hand, 0-bad 12) 1NT --- 4♦ (15-18 balanced, texas transfer) 4♥ --- P (completed transfer) By the way, without the ♣A in North's hand the bidding goes: P --- 1♦ (1♠) (opening hand, 0-5 with 5 ♥ OR slam oriented with at least 5 ♥) 2♥ --- P (or 3♥) (3+ hearts)
-
I hope it is ok for me to use my self-invented forcing pass system. (It's still being edited)

Do you give any blame to either player? Did south play it poorly or was he just unlucky? IMPs.

That looks very interesting and probably will fix my problem. Thanks very much.

quoting a long post is not a desirable thing in forums.
-
60% and no, I always get the wrong leads anyway.
-
I didn't get a trump lead. I got the ♣K lead. Although after looking after it again, I will agree that the slam is nearly impossible after continued trumps.
-
What? This is a 68+% slam. All you have to do is hold the diamonds to one loser and ruff 3 clubs... you can even ruff the third one high to protect against a 5-3 split. The spades are not necessary. Leading a diamond to the king and leading a second one to the queen later holds it to one loser unless RHO has A10xx (in which case LHO would have led a singleton diamond and you'd be down already) and once you've done that and ruffed the clubs your hand is high.
