  1. *reads "I don't believe the auction"* I wonder why (s)he thinks that? Then I looked at the hand again. Passing..
  2. shouldn't GIB bid 4♠ with both after 1♥ 3♥ 4♦ ?
  3. Many of my auctions start with me opening 1 of a major. These two auctions happen a lot. 1♥ - 3♥ 4♦ 1♠ - 3♠ 4♦ 3 of a major is a limit raise and 4♦ is a cuebid, showing a diamond control and, theoretically, denying a club control. GIB will bid 4NT with both of the following hands: ♠ AQxx ♥ Qxxxx ♦ x ♣ QJx ♠ AQxx ♥ Qxxxx ♦ QJx ♣ x This has gotten me to a lot of slams with my ♣s being something like xx opposite QJx, and they always lead a club on this auction no matter their cards. However, only the second hand is suitable for blackwood in this scenario, since I denied a club control. We don't want to be in a slam off two top losers, do we? The problem is, GIB will push for slam in hearts with both hands opposite something like ♠ Kx ♥ AKJxx ♦ AKx ♣ xx once I bid 4 diamonds. My question is: should and does the system have 4♦ denying a club control?
  4. Sorry, I didn't look at the forum. ;)
  5. Is that actually in your system?
  6. hanoi, north has a major. but he's too weak to bid so I blame him. south's 1NT opening was not perfect but what are you going to do over 1♦ - p - 1♠?
  7. pass, p will probably balance if he has an 18-19 count (at least he will in my partnership)
  8. [hv=pc=n&n=st2hj43dkqj3ca987&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=pp2nppp]133|200[/hv] Made 6, also 6 of either minor was cold.
  9. I still finesse on hand two. Why would LHO double with ♠Qx of trumps? If he had a doubleton Qx he surely would not have led it since there are probably better leads.
  10. that can not seriously be real
  11. In the sequence 1♠ - 2♠ - 3♠ - ? 4NT is defined as "pick your better minor". I bid 4NT and robot passed with ♠ - ♥ QJ762 ♦ AKQ97 ♣ 642
  12. Robot-Lord Molyb 1NT - 2♣ 2♦ - ? Now 5NT is GSF for diamonds? 1NT - 2NT 3♣ - ? 5NT, 6NT, and 7NT aren't defined. 3♦ and 4♦ are BOTH splinters. 1NT - ? 7♥ is defined but not 7♦, 7♣ or 7♠ !?
  13. [hv=pc=n&s=shkj32djt53cqj752&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=ppp1sp1n(forcing)2h3sp]133|200[/hv] Same game (there were actually like 5 of these sorts of hands by the way, and it was a 12 board game), different opponents.
  14. Board 3, same opponents after what seemed to be a fairly flat board 2. [hv=pc=n&s=sa82haq4dak653c82&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=1dp2c2n(majors)d3c(definition%20not%20given)d3hd3spp]133|200[/hv] 2♣ is game forcing, 2NT showed 5-5 in the majors, X of 2NT was undiscussed but probably looked like interest in penalty, 3♣ did not have a definition, neither did the double of 3♣, X of 3♥ was penalty, 3♠ was probably preference, and now it's your turn. Weak (10-13) NT is played by you and your partner, so partner knows you don't have that. Double again, or..? 4NT is undiscussed. Do you agree with both doubles?
  15. Played in an ACBL speedball.. 3 spade bids EVERYWHERE [hv=pc=n&s=skt2ha62dkcakt543&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=3d3s]133|200[/hv] Matchpoints, very first board against BBO players with 50-100 masterpoints. We play 2♦ mini-roman so partner might have 6 diamonds
  16. I follow TWO4BRIDGE's line IF south turns out to have 0-1 black cards after I ruff, draw the trump, and ruff the spade. Otherwise fluffy's line. (since he probably has 9 diamonds)
