  1. yeah it happened a second time a few days ago
  2. I intended 4♠ as penalty but I really don't remember which one it said.
  3. [hv=pc=n&n=s8652hqjt64daj52c&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=pp1s1np2c(should%20transfer%20to%20hearts)2sd(defined%20as%20%22takeout%22)pp(%21%21%21)p]133|200[/hv] The contract was ice cold, making 8 tricks exactly on a non-trump lead. GIB's play, though... ... let's just say they made 11 tricks.. I may put up the play of the hand tomorrow.
  4. I should play more tournaments so I can go straight from beginner to advanced B-) A beginner is someone that is learning at an abnormal rate (either much slower or much faster) then they will learn in the future. edit: whoops don't know how I managed to bump a month old topic, sorry
  5. And how do we know he wouldn't have ruffed with the king anyway? I reject because there is a perfectly normal way to go down.
  6. And here I was thinking it was going to be some cool, flashy squeeze found through discovering an unusual distribution. It took me several tries
  7. You should make them all multi so you can define every hand with just the two-level. This leaves up space for pre-emptive bids at the one level.
  8. yes, still not enough distribution or kings/aces/10s
  9. amazingly people agree with me, this must be a pretty easy problem
  10. 6 count 5-5 with soft face cards at unfavorable in IMPs. Hmmmmmmm.... yeah definitely pass. Give me a 6 count 6-5 with kings at favorable and we're talking.
  11. It's undiscussed in this situation.
  12. Do I really need 25+ total points to bid 4♠ in this auction? [hv=pc=n&s=saj752h65dcakqj87&n=st863hq7dajt2ct52&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=pp2hdp2sp4sp4np5n(even%20KC%20+%20void)p6sppp]266|200[/hv]
  13. [hv=pc=n&n=skqhk5dk8cqt97643&d=s&v=n&b=15&a=p4sppdp]133|200[/hv] X is generally penalty. Now what? If it makes a difference, you're slightly behind in an IMPs match against a strongish team.
  14. I was playing in a tournament and came across 2 grand slams in a row, neither of which were bid. Please assign the blame for both. [hv=pc=n&w=s9h73daj74ca97643&e=sakqjhak4dkq653c5&d=e&v=0&b=14&a=2cp2dp2np3s(Minor%20Suit%20Stayman)p4dp5c(Cuebid)p6dppp]266|200[/hv] Obviously 7 was made after trumps were drawn (2-2) and a heart was ruffed. [hv=pc=n&w=sa3hkj75dkq983ca4&e=s9542hadat752ckqt&d=n&v=e&b=9&a=p1d3c4c(Cue)p4dp6dppp]266|200[/hv] Trumps split 2-1 so it was easy. Who was responsible for both?
  15. 1NT - 2♣ 2♥ - 3♣ 3♠ - 5NT 6♦ - P 3♣ = GF with clubs and 4+ spades 3♠ = 3 5NT offers a choice of slams 1NT opener has 3-4-4-2 and Responder has 4-0-4-5.
  16. these all seem really easy to me low spade again
  17. My 2/1 is also 1♥ - 2♣ 2♥ - 3♦ 3NT - P Molybdenum goes P - 1♠ 2♥ - 3♣ 3♥ - 3♠ 3NT - P P = Opening hand 1♠ = Artificial GF 2♥ , 3♣ = Natural 4+ 3♥ usually shows 5+ 3♠ asks for 3-card support in clubs. 3NT = signoff
  18. whoops didn't see the king of hearts, change my vote to 100% north
  19. Only 11 tricks are taken if west discards the ace of diamonds and east keeps his jack at trick 10, but that is pretty much double dummy :P Also wouldn't taking the ace immediately work?
  20. By improving my bidding.
  21. If hearts are 4-3 or 5-2 with the doubleton queen dropping, we can just ruff two hearts in dummy and lose only a spade. That's about 70%, I think?
