Then I assume it is an issue in the simulation, or could it just be one of these places, where the bot is better than human? https://bridgewinner...m-2-g4nfc0jonr/

There are in principle 2 different versions of 2/1 GF - On BridgeWinners called SHAPE and STRENGTH. https://bridgewinner...stem-summaries/ Now GIB is playing the STRENGTH version, and that is OK. This means that after 1Ma-2X the Bot will rebid the major to show minimum. But now look at this hand [hv=pc=n&n=saj954h3d85ckq764]133|100[/hv] Here GIB will open 1♠, that is OK with me. Now when partner responds 2♦/♥, the Bot will rebid 2♠. But what happens if next hand bids, so the bidding goes [hv=d=n&v=n&b=5&a=1sp2d2h?]133|100[/hv] Now the Bot bids 3♣, in principle switching from STRENGTH to SHAPE. This is not showing extra And what about [hv=d=n&v=n&b=5&a=1sp2h3d?]133|100[/hv] The bot insist on showing ♣ and now bids 4♣ on this bad hand On other bids (including Double), the bot will pass Interesting if this is standard for 2/1 GF

Yes, but 5341 is not the most likely distribution of opener. Try with 5233/5332 or even 5224 In 4♠, then hand is practically only worth 3 tricks (and the same in 3N), as East is short in ♦, so no ♦.ruf

[hv=pc=n&n=st3hak54da5c76543&d=s&v=n&b=5&a=1s2d3cp3np4sppp]133|200[/hv] First of all, this looks like a negative double, but I wonder what deals the bot found, where 4♠ is better than 3N. 3N= 5+♠, 11-15 HCP, stop in ♦

2♣ is Cappelletti showing a single-suited hand

After Souths T/O double it is interesting that West can bid 3♦ just promising an opening hand and 5♦, East had shown nothing, and EW vulnerable. Now after Souths second T/O double (this should show extra just as the previous double) it is interesting, that North bids the 4-card major Result 2 down, where 4♠ is lay down (And lesson learned should be to bid 1♠ instead of the first T/O Double)
-
I really see no problem in that, but perhaps there is something I am misunderstanding

[hv=pc=n&n=s6hq7642dq5caq972&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=pp1sp2hp2np3cp3np4h]133|200[/hv] 4♥=6+♥, 4+♣, 11- HCP, 11-12 total points With a better ♥-suit, it might be right to play 4♥, even knowing partner has a double. But I think for once the explanation is right, so the bid is wrong. Only 2 down
-
Some times, when looking at the full deal some bid seems obvious, so you get this hand without knowing if it is a bot hand or a human hand [hv=pc=n&s=sthkj5dt94ckt6543&d=w&v=b&b=10&a=p1dp1np2sp?]133|200[/hv] And I rotated it to make south the bidder
-
Well, it was not the brightest declarer play by GIB, noticed how it plays ♦ before knocking out ♣A. At trick 8 it is seen that South had a single ♣. So with 2 cards the bot "knows" that south had doubles on either ♠642 ♥KJT82 ♦KT92 ♣A or ♠K642 ♥KJ82 ♦KT92 ♣A I am not sure what is most probable, but 3♦ (promising 15+ total points) make the last my favorite But the main issue is taking a finesse for an overtrick
-
For some strange reason the bot found a bid after the double. For some reason I can't figure out, GIB played a ♦, and went down as ♣ were 4-1. I can't find any distribution, where GIB could win 11 tricks. Even with a small set of samples in the simulation I would expect ♣ to be 4-1 of some of the samples.

Every time I think now I have figured out how to bid decently with GIB, then GIB finds new ways to astonish me. You get these 4 boards from my last 8 board challenge, and should try to guess GIB's bid. [hv=pc=n&s=sht6dkqj64cakqjt7&d=n&v=b&b=13&a=2s3h?]133|200[/hv] What to bid now? 4N is for aces with ♠, so leaving 4♣, 4♦ or Pass If you bid 4Mi it will show a rebiddable suit and 22+ points You could bid 4♦ and then 5♣ over the expected 4♠, and I have checked that is natural. But looking at the bids available for the bot it will only bid 4♠ with single in my minor, so bidding 4♣, and then 5♦ over 4♠ is natural. Now the problem is that if you bid 4Mi, the bot will ask for aces in 4N, and you response is now 5♠, committing you to 6mi I decided to bid 5♣ (after bidding 4♣ the first time) hoping the bot only had one ace. But the bot continue with 5♦ asking for trump Queen. So the bot must have 2 aces and odds are it is ♠ and ♦, so now it is just guessing the number of ♥s in the bots hand. If one ♥ 6 is cold, if 2 you could pass 5♦. So what is your guess?

[hv=pc=n&e=s7hkq432dat82caj3&d=e&v=b&b=10&a=1hp4dp?]133|200[/hv] 4♦ is a splinter showing 4+♥ and 13-16 total points. The Bot in east used blackwood and after getting one ace bid 6♥. Perhaps a bit optimistic, but not unreasonable. I will get back to the play, so lets just look what happened at another table - this board was played 15 times, and 4 of the south players bid 2♦. Over 2♦ West still did bid 4♦, this time being a splinter with 4+♥ and 13+ total points. The only difference is that West now is unlimited, Now the East bot just bid 4♥ and was left there to play. Interesting that opposite a limited hand the Bot goes for slam Now back to the play [hv=pc=n&w=sakq86hjt86djcqt4&e=s7hkq432dat82caj3]266|100[/hv] How would you play it on a ♠-lead? Against 6♥ south lead a trump 7 times, and a ♠ 4 times After a ♠-lead the bot found a way to go down, that looks interesting Looking at the 2 hands a plan could be to throw 2♣ on the ♠, and the go for crossruff The other plan is to draw trump and finesse in ♣. After a trump-lead the bot went for the second option and made, but after a ♠-lead somethiing strange happened [hv=url=https://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&lin=pn%7CSouth%2CRobot%2CRobot%2CRobot%7Cst%7C%7Cmd%7C4S42HA95DKQ543C862%2CSAKQ86HJT86DJCQT4%2CSJT953H7D976CK975%2CS7HKQ432DAT82CAJ3%7Csv%7CB%7Cah%7CBoard%2010%7Cmb%7C1H%7Can%7CMajor%20suit%20opening%20--%205%2B%20%21H%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C4D%21%7Can%7CSplinter%20--%201-%20%21D%3B%204%2B%20%21H%3B%2013-16%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C4N%7Can%7CBlackwood%20%28H%29%20--%205%2B%20%21H%3B%2021-%20HCP%3B%2019-22%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C5D%7Can%7COne%20or%20four%20key%20cards%20--%201-%20%21D%3B%204%2B%20%21H%3B%2013-16%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C6H%7Can%7C5%2B%20%21H%3B%2021-%20HCP%3B%2019-22%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7CP%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CSA%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CCA%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CC7%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpc%7CH6%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CHJ%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CH4%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cpc%7CCK%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CHK%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpc%7CH9%7Cpc%7CHT%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpc%7CSQ%7Cpc%7CST%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CS8%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CHQ%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CC9%7C]399|300[/hv] At trick 3 the Bot cashed ♣A probably following the crossruff-line, but then at trick 6 it started drawing trump, really with no chance of winning the contract.
