I even think that 6 spades could be bid if opps were to bid 6 hearts over the one spade bid.

I wanted east to open, which means west should not have the decision to make an over call he has a straight forward 4 spade bid to game and if it goes down so be it. I dont even think it needs thinking about, it is clear cut 1 spade any bid by opps and west puts us in game.

I bid inverted minor, my p was not aware of this, which explains why he never bid 2NT. I had inverted minors on his profile from ages ago when I last played with him, some considerable time I think at least a good few months, it is quite possible he did not realise

Sorry Wayne, I found that explanation to hard for my small brain, I opened a teaching table then clicked on movies and created 8 hands , took 60 mins to work out how to do it. Then I saved them to my desk top and uploaded them when I created a tourney. the second time I did it, it took me less than 25 minutes to do 8 hands

especially when pard has 0314 and you have 1403 on your profiles

Hi Ken, I am guilty of doing this myself on more than one occasion, never really considered myself a cheat or unethical, just considered it part of argreeing what me and a pard I have never seen before play as it is probably 50%+ of the time you sit at a table and start playing without even discussing the basics

Interesting bit here Ben, I thought that this was the only sequence where 4th suit forcing does not apply?

Hi Fred/Uday How difficult is it, for the alert box to be given to the partner to use. i.e. Opening hand bids 1 heart, then before the next player bids, an alert box is displayed for p's comments, partner either alerts or passes, then the bid box shows for the next player and it continues in this way through out the auction. it would then allow partner to alert his or her partners bid to the opps in the same way. so if South opened 2 clubs, North would alert or before West had the opportunity to bid If south opened 1 heart, North would pass the alert and then if West bid 2 hearts, East would have to alert (explain) before North could bid? I am not sure if this is feasable?
