I read as thread with Interest and think what is lacking is over the Top Characters that appeal to the masses. can you come up with role models to popularise the game for the younger generation bridge is cool sucks and is only something an old fart would think appeals to youngsters so here a a few for starters, please add your own ideas for consideration 1/. Roland the Destroyer ( Stout fellow with beard, horned cap and bloodaxe) 2/. Zia Kubla Khan (a mass murderer and pillager of countries) 3/. Fred the mad proffesor (ability to take over the Internet and cause world wide havoc)

If you transfer to the minor (I thought this does show/ guarentee / 6 cards)? the 3 spade bid shows no stopper I assume ? or does it show a singleton or is this up for partnership agreements or is this standardish bidding?

I see some people don''t mind undoing bids but refuse to undo cards played. This seems a bit daft to me, I honestly think that if there were no undos at all and people had to play out their mistakes. People may just start paying attention to what they are doing and not answering the phone or playing at work or chatting to their friends whilst playing etc etc etc as I think this is more a reason for misclicks that any mechanical slip or fat fingered problem BAN undos totally.... at MBC or at least give Dr Todd his request (which is in the right place) and let us decide if undos are allowed as we set the table This is not a good way to handle the issue IMHO, as if the table is set for no undos people don't have to join, if they are allowable refusing causes bad feeling and another table hopper is born (which is starting to become quite problematic on occasions, but thats for another thread)

I think you should learn the main system of your country and I also think you should not learn online as , you will get led up the garden path by some well meaning people that don't have a clue what they are on about

Take a couple of hundred quid a good pair of boots and some clothes a ruck sack and get off a ferry at Dieppe or one of those French Ports (on your own) and walk, any direction, stick out your thumb and see where it takes you, plan to return in 8 weeks. It is the most fun I had and I did it twice, once with a friend and once on my own, both have pros and cons, I reckomend on your own as it makes it easier when you decide you really want to do something specific. My mate did it in America but he come back with a wife, so beware of that one :)

We bid to Club slam here, so comments on bidding welcomed, I opened pick up pard my main question was we were playing MPS, so I wanted to make 13 trx opp lead Q hearts ( someone explained it is called Journalistic lead or Roman lead)from KQxx hearts (I was not aware of this at the time) I had AJ10 hearts (so I assumed Q lead could be singleton also) 1/. A Control ? if so would it be best Ace only NOT Kx or Kxx or Kxxx or A singleton? I have an issue if it is a singleton, would you not be showing a singleton in a pards suit with Values?????? and therefore not worth mentioning just bid the major at the 3 or 4 level whatever you are comfortable with?

I have bid 3nt on the first 3 bid sequences before, but I also have come unstuck (as with this example) no way of knowing if we had a club stop. I bid 2 spades as 3 diamonds is not forcing and 4 diamonds take me past 3nt which could be the right spot as I (think) he has only 3 hearts when he bid 3Hearts he showed 6 D 3H and 4 outstandings cards in spades and clubs, when he bids 3 hearts surely I cant bid 3NT then ? is this not a gamble when 4 hearts or 5 diamonds could be our spot?

I was worried about NT being the right place I had no club stoppers and I am happy to play 4/3 fits and I am not sure it 100% shows 5 hearts again I may be wrong just trying to understand
