do you really think the diamond suit is good enough when I can support pards major as a priority

I bid the splinter 3 hearts and I took3 spades as stronger than 4 spades so I cue bid my diamond showing no club controls, after the 4NT and then Q ask, the fact that pard had no wasted values in hearts (my assumption as he seemed interested in slam) my real question to myself was he was looking for grand and I could not give it, so I stopped in 6spades on the subject is AKx not as good as a 4 card suit ? if you think my logic here is crap please feel free to tell me as I am not 100% sure yet I bid crap, but I would like to understand if I am guilty of crap bidding

my theory is that like all civilisations, this one will flounder and fail like all before it, when the winners have come to power (USA, China or who ever comes next), what will happen is greed, decadence, corruption, apathy, economic and social enslavery will rule (signs of this I believe are already showing) and when that happens all will be lost, until the next idealistic civilisation comes to be, (unfortunately when all starts to go down the pan big time, the nuclear weapons we have will be used as no one has anything to lose anymore and mankind has a very good self destruct button (and I dont mean the one at George Bushes finger tip) One point everyone seems to miss about the British, US etc example is, that to have wealth you have to have poverty, no one can be rich with out someone else living in poverty, no one can be strong without someone else being weak. I do not believe that charity helps anyone in the long run, take Africa as an example, we send out Aid, to corroupt governments and the countries that are not corrupt, what do theose people do?, they emigrate to earn money and the ones that do this are the young and fit (are these not the people you really want to remain in their countries to stay and rebuild for a better future?? I honestly think that we all should stop trying to interfere with other peoples lives, unless we are honest and say, we don't really give a ***** about you, but we want to use your oil (or whatever they have to offer) until it runs out and then you are of no further use to us and we will let you go back to the dark ages. if we get a wonderful model where everyone is equal, everyone has a good standard of living (which they dont have to get off their asses for) that is when this will happen greed, decadence, corruption, apathy, economic and social enslavery

I am not anti American at all, but, I do not belive this statement is valid we got our empire by taking what we wanted colonising or what ever words you wish to describe taking something by force. Take India, well killed loads of people (Indians) and took over their country, hundreds of years later we gave it back, so no longer are we the mighty British empire we may once have been. I am not sure exactly as I was not there and books sometimes have a way of distorting things but we helped them in some areas and now they will one day be a great power themselves (depending on your view I suppose) When will America give the Indians back their country?

I actually believe that America has not fought a war it did not want to, I believe, that our relationship with America has benefits, but I do not believe America is out for anyone else but it self, and I am convinced if all that came out of Northern Afirica was camels dung, they would never fight a war there

In the UK, waitresses and other industries staff are now taxed on expected tips and perks, so by not tipping, I am actually helping them not pay so much tax in the future (dam, I am so good to people it makes me want to throw up)

If I tip it is usually because that person did me well, I wont tip if I dont think it is deserved and it should not be assumed you receive tips just for doing your job

Whilst this does not exactly specify leave the thread alone. it is petty clear what the intention was, also it is extremely polite (IMHO) to critise an opinion here, it is on par with going to a tutors lesson and butting in giving your two cents worth.. you may be correct that it is a discussion forum, but what the heck, open a new thread to discuss individual parts that you wish to express different views from, that is not asking a lot.

who believes in Greek gods any more or Norse Gods.. did they disappear. were they there in the first place?? They were made up of misguided beliefs, they were Invented by some one (or perhaps Invented was the incorrect word, maybe made up would be better from someones imagination) just in the same way people believed the world was flat. when my time comes if I am wrong I am sure he or she will be all forgiving (as I lead a decent sort of life) and if I am right, it won't matter Religion is not part of human nature, man may have a tendancy to go along with something that is sugested to him, that may be human nature (follow blindly like a sheep but I really don't think we are born with any religious beliefs. We may have questions that religion seems to answer for lack of any substantial proof exsisting. i.e how did we get here or how did we come into exsistence. IMHO someone made up Religion to control the masses, in a time when there were not substantilal explainations for things, i.e raingods, sungods al powerful deities is there something out there unexpalined that controls destiny , is there something out there that is all powerful, did the earth take 6 days to make. I do not think so, I think a lot of very clever people have spent to much time drink strong spirits and taking some weird drugs to get themselves on a higher plane to explain something that just is the answer to this "There is clearly something in human nature which causes some people to believe such things. " is mans curiosity and the need to have an answer
