what are your minimum requirements for t/o and then bidding a suit in 2nd 3rd and balancing positions and why? t/o and then bidding NT in 2nd 3rd and balancing positions and why? and does it differ if the bid is in 1st 2nd 3rd seat or vuln considerations or even which suit or is there a general rule or down to partnership agreements

actually I do not like this statement (no offence intended) But credit cards are for things you cant afford, or delaying payment for a few months and bank assumed interest (for profit, if you use the maximum payment delay period) But explain this to me, how much interest do you save on a meal for four? Debit cards are an alternative to cash, NOT credit cards Savings are what you use for an emergencies, not credit cards if you want a trip save for it and you will enjoy it most, if you cant afford the trip, dont take it, as for travelling a long distance on credit, I used to hitch hike (free and a fun way to travel) DEBT SUCKS and will be what brings the happy house of cards down

when I was younger I never had any debt, if I could not afford it, I saved or went without (went without was the norm) (part of the reason was when I went to buy my first motorbike on credit, my father told me, there is no way on earth he would be a guarentor for my loan (at the time, I thought he was a prick, now I realise he was being sensible) These days peoples attitudes have changed to debt, youngsters (and I define this as anyone under 30) seems to have been brought up that debt and borrowing is good, I really think that anyone that blames the parents is foolish and narrow minded The governments legislation and what I would call sharp business practices are to blame, I sell home improvement products and we sell finance and payment protection, even on a cash deal the company will phone up the client and try and offer further discounts and explain CLEVER ways to make this AFFORDABLE. Whilst I probably can earn myself more money if I pushed finance, I do find one thing that is apparent, most people are quite ignorant of finance as it can be quite complex and there are a lot of sharks out there (included the retail giants) that use the media to glamorize credit, people are at the whim of phsycologial studies that show how to make debt seem GOOD, in reality there will always be times borrowing is neccesary, but I feel £800 for a D&G handbag as really morally or ethically corrupt in our society In England one of the largest banks in the world just got fined approx 1.5 million, for misleading selling (this was on the payment protection side of things, but this is usually added onto a loan at extortionate rates to help sell peace of mind about the original loan, if you cant trust one of the biggest banks in the world, do not blame the young or old, who get sucked up into this spiralling uncontrolable debt problem and if there is a crash, I do not see a lot of sympathy coming for the people at the top of the sharks food chain if the system crashes, Unfortunately, whilst I have huge sympathy for the ones at the bottom who stand to lose everything, they are at fault of at least taking the easy option and not learning you have to work hard to get something you want Paying of somes ones debt for them is not the answer, nor is the IVA (englands answer to not quite bankrupcy) giving advice is usually not what the debtor wants to hear as in this case, cutting out the taxis to work means they will have to walk to work, giving up the booze and cigs, means a loss of social status. what a sad shallow world we live in

Homebase Tournaments Are Returning

nice demo Ben, a tad to quick for my personal liking is it possible to slow it down a bit? I am pleased these are back, hope you have a lot of sucess this time, it is nice to see someone doing something different .... hope you get a decent TD to do at least one at a good time for the Europeans -
in the Uk, you can get welfare (aid, call it what you will (I believe it is a family credit)) if you earn under the paltry sum of approx £60,000 joint income.................... Sometimes, I think politicians do not have a clue what a poor person is and they certainly have no idea how many extra beers someone on an income of £50,000 plus can get with the money they give them each month......... Systems are made by the governments and they come into place to win votes. what a sad state of affairs giving everyone £500 ( or what ever to boost the economy is great), but to spend it the only people that profit are the ones with the goods to sell or the money to enjoy it. these are definatey not the poor all it is for is to appease the whinging rich lobbyists who are worried they may only make 1.9 billion profit not the 2 billion they projected for thier companies

for every man or woman here that has a house and savings, would you sell your house to help the poor? would you give all your savings away to help the poor? would you substantially give away a major proportion of your wealth? No, I would not and I doubt most of you would either, for a little amount of people to have a lot a a lot of people have to have a little and thats the way it has always been and always will be. (unless you know of a new social system that needs to come into being) We can consider ourselves lucky, we can get on line in a nice safe rich environment, the ones that have nothing do not frequent the forums, they have more important things to do like beg for medicines and rely on handouts from the fat westerners who squander thier wealth of excess or even scratch around rubbish dumps for some food How many of you actually lose any sleep over the poor, how many of you that have exotic holidays in Mexico, Thailand or numerous other countries, actually do anything tangible to change the poors life, all we seem to do is come back from these places and say we have seen poverty (we are ok, lets hide our eyes from the problem) In fact how many of you actually give a flying f*** what happens to the poor? I do not see people starving to death in this country or america, the american poor are just not as poor as some people, th epoor in america are voters and that would seem to me the only reason the politicans care, which has nothing to do with kickstarting the economy as all that does is protect the rich :) (I define rich against some people that do not live in the squallor in Brazil or Thailand etc etc, people with nothing may think someone is rich as they are using them selves as a yard stick, we may consider someone rich by a different set of standards) RANT over

Poking your nose in to someones affairs with her attitude will only cause you grief A quick Political message here, this government has done all it possibly can to encourage credit as something to be proud of, it is not something to be proud of and it is something people learn to pay back the hard way worry about your own financial affairs, cos if you have brought a house in the last 12 months in the near future you could be looking at negitive equity The bank of Mum and Dad, possibly the biggest bank in England will take over her problems, her attitude alone should tell you what is right for you to do and I advise you to do nothing

In the UK, we have elected to do a similar thing, but for every £100 pounds given, there is 40% capital gains tax to pay and then, there is a 40% instant wealth tax deducted and a further 21% taken so that they can banish self funded political parties and all parties will have the money divided between them dependant on the amount of votes they received in the last election Are not the Politicians great One thing I can never work out is, where is the money coming from, future taxes? or are the governments so awash with money they don't have a national debt and all this money is in a bank earning interest

A father passing by his son's bedroom, was astonished to see the bed was nicely made, and everything was picked up. Then, he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed, 'Dad.' With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter, with trembling hands. 'Dear, Dad. It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mum and you. I've been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice, but I knew you would not approve of her, because of all her piercing's, tattoos, her tight Motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am. But it's not only the passion, Dad. She's pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children. Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't, really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves, and trading it with the other people in the commune, for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS, so Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it! Don't worry Dad, I'm 15, and I know how to take care of myself. Someday, I'm sure we'll be back to visit, so you can get to know your many grandchildren. Love, your son, Joshua. P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Jason's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the school report that's on the kitchen table. Call when it is safe for me to come home

I have abused Chickens, since, I was about 13 years old, my father was a chicken and he abused me when I was a duck, this is probably where the abusive behaviour I am guilty of stemmed from, I know my behaviour may seem fowl to some, but what the heck, if you cant abuse chickens, what the hell can you abuse

another question I have been asked is, why is 3 diamonds not the bid as a lot of people say they would automatically bid that as I am to strong for 2 diamonds
-
another question please, I thought 2 diamonds was the right bid I should make, but I am a bit unsure of the correct continuation afterwards had my pard bid 2 hearts (OBVIOUSLY IF HE HAD A DIFFERENT HAND) what should 3 spade bid show? a splinter? extra strength (top of the range) what would 2 spades show?, a patterned out hand and as strong as a 2 diamond bid could be without a jump initially?
