  1. What!? hand 2 makes 4N alone, p has Q♣ makes 6N; A♣ 6N or 7N hand 1 might not even make 2 of a minor on a bad day.
  2. yes, I will be playing whatever is gcc so unless that is liberal ans allows transfer walsh I wont be changing my bidding
  3. Where do people come up with these conventions out of the blue? 4♦ asking for specific aces nobody on BBO will recognise.
  4. 1♣-X is a situation which lends itself to transfer responses. To redouble with 5 clubs is sticking ones head in the sand. Don't you think you should mention the support? correction had 4C
  5. Well I can tell you why Gib went off the deepend. your 2♠ bid showed 22 pts, so Gib thinks there is slam. Obviously, 2♠ is distribution not hcp and Gib can't take a joke.
  6. was this ever done, I haven't seen a GIB version update.
  7. Anyone know if 1♦-2♣ is GF? If so that might explain why.
  8. Remember poster is playing 4♣ as a transfer to ♥. Of course maybe they don't remember this either lol. Presumably any slam hand would go thru 4♣, so clearly 5♥ is a wheels have come off auction not a slam try.
  9. If you mean auto-play singleton that is available on web version, though is frowned upon because card is played fast so you can tell it's a singleton. If you mean computer plays some other card for you that would be against the laws of bridge although auto-singleton probably would violate bridge laws too.
  10. you can easily see everyone in the main bridge room or any club on web version.
  11. As far as I know the only way to upload an FD to BBO convention card is through the windows interface. Is there going to be a provision in the future to allow uploading of FD convention cards using the browser?
  12. FD convention cards. As far as I know the only way to load FD convention cards is through the windows client. I would like to see the ability to load FD convention cards through the browser version. Some people make modifications to the set convention cards or use their own system.
  13. leader led ace his partner has king. Leader is short singleton or doubleton. No way I'm letting K♠ be led!
  14. Is crawling Stayman worth the occasional disaster when 1N opener is 2-2 in the majors?
  15. This speculation, but early chess programs had the same problem. OK say Gib simulates that declarer makes the same number of tricks no matter what card defender plays. Then Gib selects a card somewhat at random and makes what looks like a dumb play. But to GIB its not bad as declarer will make the same tricks, nothing was lost.
  16. I was not playing much with wife and had a low compatibility rating. playing much more and rating hasnt moved much
  17. Also why bid 3♥ has ♠ totally stopped 2N comes to mind but really should be 3N
  18. Nowhere does OP say opener can have 2♣. Opening 1♣ on 4=4=3=2 is non-standard and would be indicated on CC if so. OP also doesn't say if they open 1M with a 4-card major in 3/4 seat which would be another consideration suggesting probable club length. Raising on 4♣ is fine, have too much to pass.
  19. Anything you type in that spot is black-so is meaningless as far as alerts go.
  20. One idea I saw double was penalty or a source of tricks in a minor usually 6+ card good suit, which expects to defeat 1N if partner has something. You respond to double as you would to a strong NT with the exception that doubler can refuse a transfer and bid their minor instead.
  21. Most leads result in +2, there are some leads +3 but nothing better, so wasn't partner's bad lead. There is no "damage"
  22. this is resulting. I suspect if ♠ were splitting 4-1/5-0 you'd be crying how do I get to 4♥
  23. 5N grand slam force is pretty useless. Bidder has 2 trump honours, so how does Gib expect partner to have the 2 honours needed to bid 7!
  24. This isn't an age problem. A human beginner or a young program almost certainly wouldn't make that mistake and if it did it would be quickly fixed. This is big problem. I saw Gib with Qxx if trump offside play the Q on first round of trump. There is a major bug in card play.
  25. I think BBO policy on ratings is pretty clear that it is a no go and has nothing to do with ability to implement a rating system.
