  1. Question: I don't enough about what is standard meaning for double of an artificial 3♣ in this sequence. Does just show clubs? Does it show defense to 3N which is certainly a possibility? Is taking time over an unusual sequence so unusual for an east in this sequence?
  2. Get more points for spades than clubs  even more if redoubled
  3. That can't be right. Next it will be declarer's fault if defender's revoke as he should have asked "no spades opponent".
  4. If you somehow are play SAYC with 1430 and specific King ask consider yourself lucky and start ask with 4N. None of these are part of SAYC. How you get Minorwood, Crossword or my personal favourite Kickback into SAYC when SAYC doesn't even have a forcing raise of 1 of a minor I don't know? <end sarcasm>
  5. Well at least i was smart enough to check before i sent my money in. Ghastly.
  6. I too have gone from never to fairly often even when playing weal NT. In 2/1 GF many people play 1♠-2♣-2♠ as only promising 5 and 2N promises stopper in unbid. It is certainly playable as both partners are aware of this. Computer studies have been down showing always opening 5M332 has an advantage. I dont know if studies were done for both mp and imps. I would think if you selectively open 1N with 5M you could do better than always opening. Especially if playing Gazzilli.
  7. Well east has it's bid 15 pts. Why is the bidding dataset using 15 pts for 7♦ ? What has it's bid 10 pts. You have your bid close enough 17 pts. So everyone is correct and 7♦X is the spot <sarcasm>
  8. Your 2N promises 2♥ Often 3N is not a shutout bid. Though Gib as usual is bidding on air. When i was a beginner (20 mp) I pulled a life master's 3N to 4S. I was told 3N ends all auctions in no uncertain terms.. 4S was a top 420 3N made 400 and I knew it was likely going to be a top. Apparently life masters know didley!

  10. Complete fluke on Gib's part. Need hearts to behave as is. 6♣ could easily be poor or 7♣ could be good. But at least did get right.
  11. Has anyone read Milkwood (WBF Compliant): A Strong Club System of Bidding for Tournament Play at Contract Bridge by Tomas Dullen 2016 Has anyone read this and know what it covers?. I was looking for a summary of system online but couldn't find. As says is WBF compliant I am assuming this might be a European system
  12. Gib has no clue how to bid slams, this isn't even close to worst example. At least it makes, have seen it jump to 6 or 7 off cashing setting tricks. Worst sequence i had was 2♣-2♦-2♠-6N ridiculous! With 7N being good and 7♥ 100%.barring a ruff on opening lead. On a really bad day 6N might even go down <gack>
  13. Yes, well if this hand falls in the 11-13 whole then i'm shocked that Gib can't evaluate it's hand. <sarcasm> My pet peeve. Gib has to be giving pts for singleton spade and doubleton diamond as Stephen indicates. If anything Gib should be subtracting points. Anyone who has been playing 2/1 for any bit of time knows your best chance is to play in 3♣. and i don't care how many points you think you have it isn't as much as you think.
  14. I think Gib should be 3♣ which is weak. Perhaps in Gib database shows a better hand. It should 2N is the INV and can be off-shape.
  15. For slam you really need partner to not have much wasted in clubs, so this bid is ideal. A lot of people play 4♣ as KC Gerber, it is hands like this why I don't.
  16. Sfi has the sensible agreement. cue=ace, 3N=unspecified King(s) Next best is to cue any A or K's and probably shortness. So asking keycard is a waste of time partner should have 0. I don't know why you are asking if bidding is different if playing 2/1? This isn't a 2/1 situation.
  17. 3D yes. You only make 3N if Gib has really good diamonds. as you will lose a diamond and opps run clubs For my partner 3N response to 2N is a hand with such good diamonds. In 5D if partner doesn't have such perfect trump you lose 2 spades and a trump
  18. In this case Johnu's sarcasm is warranted. Everyone knows Gib treats balancing as strong. Feel lucky you weren't put in slam <sarcasm>
  19. Nothing in the hands you played indicate Ghoulash hands. People often perceive that random hands are biased in some way.
  20. 3♦ - meaning i want to be punished on this hand lol B-)B-)
  21. So, your side has passed out at the one level obviously with no game possible. Next thing you know you are forced to 3NT! Gib has no clue how to bid in competition!
  22. How is this wierd? Almost every balancing sequence where in normal bridge all you need is 13 cards and shortage in opps trump suit, Gib says this shows a big hand. In most of these sequences it would be very rare to come close to what Gib is requiring.
  23. This is a penalty opposite a bid known to have no defense a 2S preempt. How many pts North shouldn't matter, Gib has 4 defensive tricks. Gib's program may double on 16 pts but Gib has what it needs, perhaps by accident.
