  1. don't like all this cuebidding with poor trump. at least someone should stop and keycard and find the bad news
  2. this is the sort of thing that was listed as one of the fixes, human balances and GIB then forcing on very little values.I think this situation was too complicated, evidenced by the fact there was no explanation for your 2♠ bid. But this is the type of situation that needs fixing. You just have to be able to balance at low levels at MP for decent scores
  3. I think if you pulled this passing a forcing XX trick and it benefited you. Then director would impose the fitting penalty of summary execution. lol
  4. I had one where they had played 2 tricks and got the double dummy result of dropping offside doubleton Q in 6N for +1. if they guess wrong and finesse would be -4
  5. Unless opp planning a heist they have ♥ void and Ace♠ or void. So will play A♥ as a safe lead and maybe they got confused as to who was promising ♥ void.
  6. but partner I had 21 hcp I had to double (they were questioning my manhood lol)
  7. dummy must remain silent. call the director to enforce. plus they are obviously suggesting an alternative line of play, that's just cheating.
  8. Even with this monster of a hand for 3♦ I don't like your chances for 3N on a ♠ lead. Even other leads odd don't look good without a defensive error. All 5♦ needs is a 2-1 ♦ break and I suspect experts can even make on 3-0.
  9. in ACBL land weak jump shifts by responder were recently made non-alertable.
  10. ive seen this problem. where one side has gotten too high and is virtually guaranteed a 0%. they then continue bidding taking 50 seconds each time until they get to 7N which they redouble. if the bidding hasn't finished by the time the round ends everyone will get 50%. Also if only a few tricks have been played too I think. is unfair but can only occur in the express tourney
  11. Not to mention singleton Ace is a terrible stopper. opp lead the suit now unless you have K or QJ they might run the whole suit. At least with Axx you can hold up and maybe break opp communication.
  12. yes shouldn't say hcp, that's the mistake should say pts
  13. no need to transfer. Also if the 4th suit is below 2N you can use that as the 2N Lebensohl puppet and you don't wrong side the NT
  14. I don't like Gerber, would rather use to show a natural club suit or a transfer to diamonds, However, this is the perfect hand for Gerber. You find out you have all the aces, maybe you ask for Kings. Pretty hard to stay out of 7♦ or 7N
  15. If your some sort of 5431 and 15 pts if partner bids your 3 or 4 card suit you can raise. if partner bids your singleton, I submit your not strong enough for reverse. So have to do something which is 11-15/12-15/11-16/12-16 depending on your style. Maybe rebidding your 5 card suit or bidding 1N if you cant bid your 4 card suit without reversing.
  16. Only mildly familiar with Gazzilla I think 2♣ is forcing there. What system is this? passing 2♣ seems odd with a good hand game has to be close. not knowing what system their using but would think 3♣ or an inquiry (2♦?) are in order
  17. With Strong NT (14-16, 15-17 or 16-18) I prefer to play systems on as the double is so often artificial and even if penalty we may not be in trouble so may just want to ignore double. So to runout you have your normal transfers (and garbage Stayman if you play that) plus Pass and Redouble available Pass - Puppet to redouble, toplay or to start run-out to 4+ suits. However, opener with 5+ card suit willbid suit rather than redouble. This is probably what you do with weak 4333 hands Redouble - Puppet to2♣. Either Weak with 5+ ♣/♦ or INV with exactly 5 ♥/♠♠ but is not suitable handto transfer and bid 2N. With Weak/Mini NT have to assume double is for penalty even if it's artificial as it can be converted for penalty. Pass: to play, either a good hand or a weak flat hand withnowhere to run Rdbl: SOS a weak hand, asks opener to bid 4+ card suit 2♣/2♦/2♥/2♠: weak hand5+ card suit, to play 2N: both minors, usually weak 3♣/3♦/3♥/3♠: 6+ cardsuit INV
  18. me thinks im seeing a mirage. no need for a comma there just say "strong (15+) forcing opening bids" comma makes it look like strong, or forcing opening bids in English an or is implied by the comma
  19. think you missed a comma (15+ HCP), forcing opening bids I certainly hope so or ive misread it. storng 15+, OR FORCING OPEINING BIDS
  20. edit: NEVER MIND RAN BU RULINGS@ACBL.ORG INTENT WAS STRONG AND FORCING While reading gcc for other reasons I noticed something new to me that could allow Transfer Walsh as GCC compatible. Artificial and conventional calls are allowed after forcing opening bids. Last time i looked i thought it said strong forcing openeings. im guessing this was changed to accomadate systems where 1♣ is clubs or strong and Polish club type openings. So if you make your 1♣ forcing you can use transfers. Im ok with bidding 1♦/1♥ with 0 pts where accepting transfer is 2-3 cards min/weak NT hand and 1N is 17-19 or similar range However, after 1♣-1♠ im bidding 1N with weak NT and 2N with 17-19. 2N could be too high. I was thinking for strong balanced hand rebid 2♦ over 1♠ then your in a Mexican 2♦ situation and for C-D reverses bid 2N. Obviously have to work out the details. but does that sound ok or are there any better ideas out there.
  21. that what I said, if you don't use 10+ you cant use conventions. NOT ANY. your gonna play without Stayman. your not going to use a escape system except for clubs means clubs etc.
  22. You seem like a smart person but like most people don't know the GCC\ but a natural 1N must be 10+ hcp ( so 8 disqualifies) and a range of 5 hcp (so 8-15 7 hcp disqualifies) if you do use a range outside the limits you cant use any convention including Stayman Transfer Gerber, rescues from doubles etc. and artificial 1NT has to be 15+ hcp forcing, this is a leftover from Romex but don't know anyone who plays it
  23. I don't use Garbage Stayman. Reason: I like opener to be able to co-cooperate in doubling opponents should opponents interfere over a Stayman response. Also, when you pass opener's response the jig is up and opponents may be able to back in to the auction or even make a penalty double
