  1. ATB - 100 % West. It knows it has almost no defense in ♠, which it has implied by cuebidding. It also knows 3♣ will be laydown for EW and that 3N is probably good..
  2. yes, thought of that, isolated it , still doesn't work when I use plain text is fine but black when I use formatting a line gets added which is useless
  3. I use the shortcut keys. can set them by clicking on symbol button them shortcut key in word have assigned alt-q to clubs, alt-w to diamonds, alt-e to hearts and alt-r to spades cant do colors that way, autocorrect seems to be the only way but works good with black. QUESTION: what are the standard colors assigned to the various suits?
  4. in ACBLland not alertable Responder’s Stayman bid, asking for a four-card or longer major, in auctions that begin with strong, artificial openings
  5. inn ACBLland not alertable Responder’s Stayman bid, asking for a four-card or longer major, in auctions that begin with strong, artificial openings
  6. result was good because of the usual bad defence by gib, a human is goona nail 4N to the wall for -3, while 5♦ -1 on a ♣ ruff and if west has 2♣ will make
  7. In ACBL 3♣ puppet over 2N has not been alertable for a couple of years. by extention after a 2N rebid (2♣-2♦-2N) where most people play systems on also 1N-2♣ same thing. 1N-3♣ puppet is alertable not that it matters the poster is from Denmark and your rarely gonna see a multi in ACBLland
  8. My link ok bidding goes P (1♥) 2N by me (4♥) P (P) 4N by me all pass now ill admit 4N probably not a great bid but was just playing with robots for fun do you think partner robot with 5♦ might come up with a 5♦ bid? so we can play in our known 10-card fit
  9. not true, 8 pts is ok, where 10 is required is if opening conventional. from GCC "Disallowed... 6. Opening one bids which by partnership agreement could show fewer than 8 hcp. (not applicable to psyches)" however "One Club or One Diamond may be used as an all-purpose opening bid (artificial or natural) promising a minimum of 10 hcp" Since you probably want 1D artificial in a strong club system your restricted to a min of 10 hcp.
  10. 1. you cant directly. The only way is if you can use fourth suit forcing and then raise 2. 13-15 hcp edit 2 is wrong thought 1!c-2N was question
  11. This preempt is a 5-loser hand, way to good to preempt. If partner has a red suit ace instead KQ /Q 6♠/6♣ slam is 50% This hand can take it slow and see if partner has something, if they don't bid a bunch of ♣ If your playing gambling you can describe your hand with 3N but GIB doesn't play gambling so think should open 1♣.
  12. another question. why doesn't north make a short suit game try? GIB plays 2-way game tries this would seem to be the perfect hand for one.
  13. There is a third option for jump shifts, the Limit Jump Shift. That would be 3♥ with a hand with 10-12 hcp, 6♥ and no ♠ fit. You would also use 3♣/3♦ for INV hands with a minor. The cost is you give up strong jump shifts (which aren't really needed in 2/1), weak jump shifts (which often get you into trouble) and Bergen raises (I wont express an opinion on these)
  14. GIB isn't showing stoppers, its trying to show shape as best as it can, I don't think it has a specific bid for 4=4=5=0, so is just hoping responder can show 4♠ otherwise its pretty well committing to 5♦ unless responder has a unnecessary ♠ stopper. But why is it showing suits, responder should be denying a 4M with 3♦ so it should be showing stoppers at this point. lycier is correct the right "stopper" bid is 3N
  15. second double fine with ♠ and ♦ can always correct to ♦ unless your a machine lol with ♠ and ♣ you have to show your ♣ the second time around
  16. There only one thing more annoying than a weak hand bidding keycard and that's one making a general slam try of 5 of a major which GIB also loves to do.
  17. like cloa513 http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_images/BridgeBase_Ehren_v1/user_popup.png the example was after an overcall according to the posted GIB CC (which admittedly has errors in it) GIB plays weak jump shifts in competition. But even if 2♥ is NF forcing GI is worth a sporting raise to 3♥
  18. yes now that we see all the hands 4♦ is an over bid, would even have to question transferring to clubs, lousy club suit but 9 pts mostly in the reds balanced good for 3N.
  19. ill add two questions? 1) why is south being listed as having 6 spades. surely this only shows 5 spades 2) north doesn't have a keycard and has a pretty min hand why even Keycard? just bid 4♦ and set trump and let the big hand take control
  20. yes is a bug 5N explanation invitational with only 5♠ but west is taking 5N as grand slam force
  21. Only think that makes sense, some sort of strong balanced hand with 4♥ balances with a double over 2♦ or maybe even bids 3♦ at some point looking for a stopper.
  22. If your style is to preempt on good minor suits in 1st and 2nd seat then you will always be leaving the decision to bid 3N to the responder. So if that's the case you won't ever bid/need the 4♣ response. If opener is 3-3 in the majors then they are either 3=3=1=6 or 3=3=0=7, so why not show which shape you have? 4♣: 3=3=1=6 4♦: 3=3=0=7 course if you open 3♣ on garbage you can use 4♣ for that with no 3M, 4♦: 3=3=1=6, 4♥: 3=3=0=7
  23. Exactly while you have a nice 12, if partner has 11 your not gonna have much hope of game, but partner will bid 3N with 13 at imps. Also a 3N might just get doubled if its going down 2.
  24. There is another option you might want to consider especially if will respond to 1♣ light when short in ♣ to avoid playing 1♣ on 3-2 fits That is Wolff signoff bids. You bid 3♣ for partner to puppet to 3♦ which you pass or bid 3♥ as signoff.. You can have your cake and eat it too if you allow opener to bid 3♥ with 3-card support rather than completing the puppet. this is no more complicated than NMF
