I would only raise if I was using (semi) forcing 1NT and then actually using it before correcting to 2♥.

LOTT is pretty effective for this type of hand so pass and let partner move to 3♥ if he has 4

No, dbl would just promise a hand that could handle a 2♦ rebid (either by passing, bidding 3♣, bidding 2♥, or having invitational+ values). You're logically inferring, but it doesn't say that. Do you really go through your head before making a double "if partner bids 2♦, check, 2♠, check, 3♦, check" or do you just say "yay 4 hearts double!" are you saying you don't?

IMO a rational fear given the wide range of possible results for 5♠ while X is in a pretty narrow "take the money and run" window.

you need to look at this from the 2♣ opener's point of view. (S)he knows once (s)he bypassed the ♣ suit it would look like 2 possible losers and (s)he knows you will be in a terrible position to move over the 4♥ game bid. Believe them and pass.

The question is not whether to bid six ♠ now but in the next round of bidding if it arrives :)

well it is either pass or 3♣. Having seen some of the TOX advocated here over 2 level preempts it is not going to be pretty. I try 3♣ it will be harder for RHO to X after his partner's preempt.

assuming the auction is fixed to (1♠) P (P) then I would use 1NT as showing a balanced hand 13-15 EDIT: If as others suggest the auction was 1♦ (1♠) P (P) then I protect and get ready to pass 2♣

Make your sane call for what the auction shows 3♥ and be ready to pass 3NT :P

IMV it is pretty much a toss up so don't worry about it too much. The only place you will have a problem is if partner has a stiff♥ with one opp is holding Jxxx even then 3NT is on the order of 70%. This is balanced by the likelyhood that the opps have 4 top tricks to take in 4♥ hard to give that a %age but it is close enough that I wouldn't worry about being in either contract.
