We get more diffentiation between types of hands that hold ♥?

If 4♦ doesn't show this hand what hand does it show?

It is starting to look like somebody is messing with the beta client a bit but it still picks cards better than before. Another irritation is the chat handling function I prefer to type in just one place with out having a profile popup and end up mailing a message to someone. I also would like the mouseover on/off button always visible so that the profiles are not constantly popping in when I am trying to play.

well then the ♦Q is a useful card and both your kings look to be well placed so 4♠ ADDENDUM and the 4th ♠ doesn't hurt either

This is just a number crunching problem and not having done it in a while I seem to recall the grand had to make about 80% of the time on the assumption that opps stopped in a making small slam. Of course you could just use Hudecek's rule which basically says never bid 7 unless you can count 14 tricks ;)

well one thing is clear you have useful honors in all suits where partner rates to hold 3 as it appears that he has a singleton or void in ♠

gut reaction is to win the ♣K and lead another ♣. If LHO discards win the A and lead a 3rd round.

stuff happens because bidding systems are imperfect no blame from me for NS. West however got lucky once again showing that in bridge sometimes bad bidding is rewarded and good bidding is punished.

given the contract and dummy's bid of the ♠ suit what chance would you say that the opening leader will lead the suit from Qxx? Doesn't that increase declarers chance of actually guessing right when dummy flops with ♠KJxxx

yes I think the rule should be sufficiently harsh that the players not only see no advantage to doing it but a significant disadvantage....IMO a penalty like automatic goal score seems to fit my definition.

no offense taken This was an early morning match (i.e. I was drinking my first cup of coffee) BTW our team won either 36-1 or 40-1 in an 8-board match.

I would have called 4♥ over 2♥ based on an apparently out of fashion fast arrival principle and as a consequence I think conversion to 4♥ is right as well.
