  1. nope as a confirmed member of the Squatter's Society (along with JLall) I ain't movin'
  2. discourage because the AKTx♥ are severely wasted(well the KT) opposite a 4144 hand
  3. the 9 or 5♦ depending on agreements
  4. The only reason I can see for a lightner is to prevent partner from leading a trump so I play RHO for it
  5. choices are qbid 4♣ or just bid 6♠
  6. fire back the ♣9 hopefully partner will have enough brains to return the suit.
  7. RGB LOL. My experience in the 90's when I participated that you had a lot of haughty Flight B players that mostly exchanged insults. Very little good bridge was discussed. is Richard Pavlicek one of the flight B players you are referring to? Or maybe Bill Jacobs, Adam Wildavsky, or Keiran Dyke?
  8. why not include 2♠ and 5♣ in your poll?
  9. In the bidding is 3♦ supposed to be stronger than 2♦?
  10. don't know about 3 card but the 2♠ qbid is normally used as a strong ♣ support in this auction. BTW you ought to alert us that the opps are using NFB so that 2♥ is one.
  11. 1) your choices IMO are 1NT and 3♣ with a preference for 1NT 2) since it is MP I would try a nonforcing 3♣ 3)3NT
  12. 3♣ invitational 2♦ 1000% forcing 2♥ 1000% forcing 2♠ to play 2NT highly invitational [i.e. you need a reason not to go]
  13. bid 2♥ if you are going to be doubled you might as well be in game
  14. Pass, sometimes preempts (1NT in this case) work :(
  15. If ever an auction called for a passive lead this sounds like one to me. Consequently a ♥ would be my second choice. My first choice, like Andy, would be the J♠ through dummy's QTxx and into declarer's Axxxx. :D
  16. Basically your question is should I worry more about a 5-1 club break or a 3-1 spade break. As the 5-1 break is more unlikely I would just finesse the opening lead. Nigel the opening leader could hold as many as 4 clubs no? And the auction may suggest an aggressive opening lead
  17. What do you bid? Keep in mind this is a new partner and we havent discussed raising on 3 :) If partner has a decent 11 he should have opened. AMEN!!!
