  4. I would not be interested to play more than once with someone who gives no feedback. There are so many different types of players and each will prefer a different treatment. You will often get a feeling if partner is willing to discuss when you ask about carding and system to play. When there are only short replies or none at all then it will rarely make sense to discuss about hands later. I for one hate it to read after each board "wdp" "gto" "wdo" "gtp"... without really reflecting the bid or play. This is for me not only annoying and often misguiding but being rude when someone is given a wdp for a play he did really poor or the opps made gifts. Especially US players have this habit. I will rarely give feedback to a player with 5000 logins making silly faults. It does not look as if he/she might be interested to learn. But a beginner or novice with less than 500 logins might get some friendly feedback on easy errors when there is time for it preferably in direct chat. Only when he/she shows interest I might continue later. I do remember well when I was grateful myself for some hints that I got. Accusing feedback is a bad idea no matter who your partner is. But partners that play frequently together can give more direct feedback than pickup partners without being rude. Remember there are cultural differences all over the world in the way how to give appropriate feedback. How to handle rude treatment against yourself? Take the next opportunity and say "gtg" is mostly the best. Don't forget to mark the player that you remember not to play again with him/her. I must admit that I myself don't always stick to this rule. :D
Etwas was viele vermissen.
  6. When playing at a table it makes little sense to turn <brb> on. But imagine you are just online and someone says hello to you. With the button turned on he will receive a message that you are not present at the moment. Else he might think you don't like to talk to him.
  7. Thanks Diana :) now I can see. Have a look at the picture posted by Diana_eva in the lower part you can see that button just above the line with find a member.
  8. The change in color happens when you press the <Be right back> button. There is no difference if you login visible or invisble.
  9. Two issues to report 1) Since some weeks BBO needs a lot of time to load the News when logging in. I really wonder what takes so long to do this. 2) Comments to news are no longer shown. "HTML Comment Box is loading comments..." is not working When clicking the link I get an error message that is not allowed to do this in a frame. When opening a new windows before clicking the link it brings error 502 and after that a page loads telling me that the commentbox is offline.
  10. When you still can login to BBO with the old computer just do it and change the password there and maybe add the e-mail too.
  11. A good filter could improve that for sure but at least it is possible to find someone which is not possible in the browser version. I understand very well that the system traffic caused by doing it for each player and always is a big stress for the system. But why not offer it as an on demand filter function at some places? This would be a big improvement for the table lists or the lobby. Please think about if you could implement something like that with the next BBO generation. I am sure a lot of players would benefit not only ACOL players. It is easy to find a partner for 2/1 standard without search functionality, but much harder when you want to play a less popular system and carding. Making friends on BBO is only possible when you are able to find them in the haystack.
  12. Here are some of my reasons why I always check red ones when I have the time. 1) Other tables are influenced as well as they might be waiting for this table finishing. In unclocked tourneys they might wait forever, even in clocked tourneys this will probably be the last table playing at the end of the round and the rest of the tourney is waiting. 2) You will receive complaints about missing results or not played boards and wishes for adjustment with some follow up discussions about what should compensate the damage. 3) Some of the red ones are trouble makers who belong to the blacklist when they run after ridiculous bidding or play. You will rarely find out when not looking what happened. 4) Some players hardly speak English and are anxious to call the TD. 5) Checking timely makes it possible to find better fitting subs. Of course it is up to the TD to prioritise and some might do it the way you propose. But you must face the reality that not all tables call a TD when there is a problem.
  13. The TD will just see one player is red without knowing you are dummy in last board and will have to check. Sometimes he might inadvertently sub you which is additional pain for your successor. Besides that I think it is impolite to opponents and partner to leave the table before the play is finished.
  14. As long as players don't play the same boards the comparability of the results is questionable. Just imagine when one of your boards is so "unlucky" that nearly all of the players have the same result, only very few played badly. The fast majority will have a score of maybe 51 % and no way to get more. I guess it will be no surprise that no one made it to one of the first seats who had to play a hand like the one below from the last survival tourney. http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/daylong_hands.php?tourney=ARDARD%3A0674f174.c41f.11e6.b596.0cc47a39aeb4-1481954821-&username=scarletv&board=INSTANCE-T260041-R1-B6-I2 Besides your skills and the normal luck to make the right decisions in the sense of good result not necessarily good bridge most of the time you need the luck to get the good boards where you can make great results. This is at least true for all the daylong tourneys as far as I know.
  15. day 5 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDARD:0674f174.c41f.11e6.b596.0cc47a39aeb4-1481954821&u=frank0
  16. Not really as there are no daylong tourneys in the windows client at all. Is this as the daylong tourneys have no proper setup (players not playing the same boards)? Or was it a lack of resources or any other reason that I can understand? Last challenge I could not finish and indeed I could not find any of the hands I played. Not in Myhands and not in the BBO application.
  17. Now it arrived in My BBO > Hands and Results too, so I can have a look on it for a couple of days. Problem solved.
  18. Surprise I thought they will disappear there after an hour. But great I found it now thanks. Tomorrow it will be gone?
  19. It is not in the completed tournaments. Not sure which two ways you are referring to?
  20. This morning 10 am UCT+1 I logged in. I obviously qualified for day 5 of the survival but cannot find the results of day 4. Can someone tell me how to get the list? https://snag.gy/EPXNeF.jpg When I asked a yellow she first gave me the advise to re log in. I did but without success (not really a surprise). Then she told me the result must be there and that I should check again and make a screen shot to show they are not there. Ok I rechecked several times but always the same result: no entry in the tourney list. The boards are shown under my hands but without tourney result. Next she told me that the tourney is still running (4 more hours) and therefore I cannot see the results. I wondered why day 5 already started when day 4 is still running? All very confusing or maybe confused. Now I waited 4 more hours until the tourney must be over (as the yellow postulated). The result is still the same: no results shown. Hope someone can bring light into it and tell me where I can find the list of results for day 4.
  21. http://www.bridgebase.com/myhands/hands.php I can't find the hands and results of the new created Multi Day Survivor Tourneys in My hands. A yellow that I asked told me not all tourneys are listed there which leads me to my question: What tourneys that I played myself are not shown in My Hands and why?
  22. That might be a problem with quite a number of directors not only in IAC. I switched to the browser for directing long ago and found it much more comfortable as the download version. But we should be aware that directors will need some time to learn and might need assistance or coaching too. Maybe we should create a kind of FAQ for hosts and directors where we can concentrate any information that is available about directing (video, slideshow, questions whatever). The earlier the TDs switch to the browser the better.
  23. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Add-on_(Mozilla) Extensions for Firefox or Opera are called add-ons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_extension
  24. Wouldn't it be a waste of BBO resources when there is already a solution for this problem? You could simply use an add-on.
  25. I really wonder how many players think the ACBL rules do apply one way or another to BBO. There are a lot of different alert rules all over the world and most players on BBO will never play behind screens. So no one can "expect" that most BBO users will alert this way. And dont forget, what looks unusual for you might be most usual in other areas of the world. Here is what you find at BBO: http://online.bridgebase.com/v2/doc_rules.html
