  1. I play 4C as nat and 4D/4H as splinters. 4C is with 5 cards in spades.
  2. Nice first post, I'll be sure to link you!
  3. The spade jack is pretty sexy, I'm sure thats what jdonn would lead. I like a club for lack of better choices, usually I wouldn't lead from this holding in a minor but I don't like either major option and a diamond is for matchpoints.
  4. Whether I opened 3D or 1D would depend on my partnership style, but I hate pass. In most partnerships I would open 3D and not be worried about missing 3N. Sure I would be worried because my hand was suitable for a major, but I think 3D is a lot less flawed than pass.
  5. I will go out on a limb and lead the club ace. It is very possible the club will go away on the diamonds. I hope we have a club and a spade trick. Dummy probably has the king of clubs or a stiff club, or just a ton of HCP to not be worried about clubs. If he has a stiff C then the ace of clubs will be a very good lead, if it's the king it will be good or break even, and with xx then they're gonna have a pitch anyways, possibly 2.
  6. Why is everyone doubling? I think bidding is right, I would try 5D as a lead director.
  7. 3C is the logical choice, we have 4 of them and partner asked us to bid something. Rebidding hearts with 5 bad hearts is not a good idea.
  8. Han, why don't you add a smiley to your jokes, to the benefit of those here that don't know you? that would make the comments less amusing. LOL
  9. I agree but I think 6D is just an offer to play so I wouldn't do that. I don't think there's a way to recover from not showing the DK the first time.
  10. I think RHO has Qxxxx of hearts. With xxx hearts and 3352 almost everyone pitches a diamond.
  11. I would definitely play spades first, then clubs, then guess hearts. The legit line has too much going for it imo.
  12. LOL (Sorry can't get over the first part of the auction. Love it.)
  13. That seems terrible that you can change your mind and not skip after using the stop card. I mean, what if the opps don't know your special agreements so can't determine if UI has been used or not. What if your partner psyched in 3rd seat, then when you later put out a skip card partner looks pale so you just bid 2H (and the opps don't know why you changed your mind). This also makes it advantageous to use stop cards rather than to not use them so that you can change your mind if youre about to mess up. It really seems like a system where a stop card is not binding is messed up.
  14. I would play 2N as natural and X as takeout. Possibly not best, but pretty natural at least.
  15. Probably not popular but I would also pass. I think partner is a strong favorite to have some strong balanced hand and anything I bid now is going to get us into trouble. Pass then spades will be a good description.
  16. Phil why not let the GNT finalists go into the lm pairs? I think the biggest reason they do this is because no amount of carryover seems fair. This is why the world open pairs has no carryover at all (so rosenblum people can drop in).
  17. I think Bill is a gimmick account.
  18. If you can bid 1N with a stiff as I like to play then I would just start with Nmf.
