  1. You can try to lose one spade and one heart or you can go for 2 spade losers. I think club over and DK is right.
  2. Yeah, I'd play basically ACBL multi-defense 1 + leb so X is TO of spades, 2♥ is TO of hearts, and 2♠+ is leb. Pass and then X is penalty. Losing the ability to bid a natural 2H seems like a HUGE loss. I prefer X is values, 2H/2S nat, 2N inv+ with clubs or to play in 3D, 3C inv+ diamonds, 3D inv+ hearts, 3H inv+ spades, 3S minors. So if you have a stayman hand you start with double and then you're in a forcing pass so can sort it out pretty easily.
  3. Going over every board is inefficient. You will determine most of the time when you go over a hand where you won imps that you did nothing majorly wrong. When you go over hands you lost imps it is much more likely that you'll find a key error. If most of the time you spend looking for errors is spent finding them, you aren't wasting that much time, and can get back to playing or studying. Even if you miss some hands where you made mistakes it's ok.
  4. I think it's a non problem double. What other option is there han?
  5. yeah partner definitely had a 4D bid over 3N.
  6. One might hope to hear the response "because that would be cheating". You'd hope...
  7. I'm sure this won't be popular but I like 1N 2C 2N to play. Hamman convinced me it's worth it to not let LHO get a bid in. You have 2H and 2S anyways, so I use 2H as GF with the minors and 2S as competitive with the minors.
  8. That means you'll have to pass on some hands where people facing a natural auction will be able to double for takeout. Doesn't that worry you? Sorry I don't understand. I might have misunderstood. By "the other major and clubs", do you mean something like a 5-5, or could it be 4-4? Could be 44 is what I meant. I love getting in in these situations and think having to be 55 would be hopeless as well.
  9. I like how nobody has said what they think the right bid is with the south hand over 2N heh. Is 3C checking back for 2 card heart support or is it just a natural bid? If its not the former then how do you find 62 heart fits. Obv south should bid but it's not clear what.
  10. I would definitely be tempted to reopen with 3H with such a strong player, but since partner is a lock to have a trap pass of diamonds I think 2H is fine.

  12. Could not imagine anything but 3N. I also would always overcall.
  13. I like what Joe Grue taught me, cuebidding shows the other major and clubs, double shows the other major and diamonds.
  14. I think 3N is terrible with no stoppers, that is an LOL. I opened 3N today with Kx xx AKQJxxx AJ which is what a 3N opener should look like. Gambling on one suit is ok, but 3 is ridiculous. Of course south has a pass. 3N doesn't show no side entry lol.
  15. Yes 3D is GF and it's very obvious.
  16. Nice question Adam, never thought about it.
  17. I would pass here, we aren't really involved and we have no idea what partner has.
