  1. Funny I was talking to Han and Clee about this auction (except 2H on the second bid not 2D), it just came up for me and I don't remember it happening before. Anyways I was of the opinion that it showed 56 and was non forcing.
  2. Really disagree that we are in a forcing pass after 1H 2S X 3S 4H 4S. The 2S then 4S bidder often has extra shape for this auction and theres no reason to think we have to beat them or bid imo, even if we had shown a lot of HCP (which i don't think we have?).
  3. You have to bid hearts, for all you know partner has cuebid a stiff spade or w/e.
  4. double and pass, both are wtp
  5. Disagree with 3 (I don't think 1S X p p creates a force) even though I know it's debatable. Disagree with 6b , I think we're in a force through 3 of responders suit (which is where I think 2C forced to to begin with except for 2N). Also I guess I really agree with 6, just the definition of 2C in 6b. Oops wrote 2 instead of 3 on the first line, edited.
  6. If possible, can you please explain your reasons? I feel like the added safety of the D9 does not outweigh the fact that they will have more diamonds than hearts on average.
  7. If you are a beginner/int it is fine if you pass. If you bid 1H you have to handle some tricky spots later, and more importantly your partner has to handle some tricky spots later and might not be able to figure out what's happening (assuming they are also beginner/int). If you want to respond with this hand make sure you have a partner who knows that you might, and understand that you will have a lot of new situations arise which don't usually. All that said I believe that a style where you do not pass 1C with this hand is much better, and if you want to try new things then it's a good thing to try out but probably shouldn't be at the top of your list.
  8. Guys I'll let you in on a secret...sometimes when really good players play on BBO (especially younger ones) they make strange bids and plays because it is fun to do!
  9. double even though 3N could be the winner I'll just take the cash.
  10. Don't worry Phil you're not the crazy one this time!
  11. Is this true? God I keep on getting mixed reviews on this subject. If we didn't agree to play Lebensohl then I don't care if he alerts it or not I can still bid 3NT, right? umm no, after the alert you have UI regardless of what your agreement was since you know partner is bidding 3C since he thinks 2N is artificial. Thus if passing 3C is a logical alternative you should pass. Agree with MFA that you will never win this committee, and I would think very little of anyone who actually bid 3N after the alert and then tried to get away with it.
  12. X then X is a wtp. How can you sell out to 2H with this hand? Partner is supposed to pass over 2H with a weak hand even if it has a FIVE card minor. The reason being of course that if partner had bid over 2H directly we would be going for game because our hand is so good. Thus with a weak hand partner passes, we double, and partner can bid. Not to mention partner could easily be sitting for this double which is a great result for us as we will slaughter them. Basically our hand is just too good to sell out and we could still have a big fit or a big penalty.
  13. This is not even close. I mean consider that Kx xxxx KQx xxxx is a terrible game, and then consider how good of a freaking hand that is for this auction.
  14. 3C is natural for me. Find a bid with 3253 and no club stopper.
