  1. Dude go to chile. Avocado on everything. A standard salad is like avocado and tomato. I got a hot dog while watching a movie, and the guy asked if I wanted avocado on it. I said no, ketchup, and he just looked at me...
  2. Seriously? 2155 would not reopen X. 2164, 3064, 3055, sometimes 4054. Any 6-5 in the minors. Also don't know about other people, but reopening X with all 1255 and 0355 is stupid. --- xxx KQJxx KQJxx would be an obvious 2C for anyone.
  3. oh I didn't see the hidden... obv bid game over 2H
  4. 2D is enough imo. We probably need a fourth trump to go anywhere. Sure we might have a perfect fitter opposite 3 trumps but it's not that likely. I think partner generally moves over 2D with 4 trumps, or 3 and the nuts, so that's pretty good. I would never open 1C in a million years.
  5. and theres the fact that partner SHOWED 4-4 in the majors...
  6. Really? There is no logical alternative to playing a heart back, no matter which heart partner led back.
  7. You're still a long way to go when itcomes to SQUEEZE-related CAPS. heh in other news jdonn will definitely pass me in posts this year!
  8. That still gives me a good 250ish posts though
  9. I went past 12k posts... I think when I get to inquiry-1 I'll make a new account :)

Kfay might be the coolest person I know irl fwiw. I am a FANBOI!!!!!!
  11. Michaels is certainly standard, but I prefer for the balancing cue to also include a GF minors hand. The difference is that 2N in the passout seat is natural, so if you have no way to show the minors you might be stuck on very strong hands if you don't want to double because you have so much shape. The way I play it still leaves you with strong-but-not-super-strong minors hands though, but I feel like bidding 2H on those also makes everything very difficult to sort out, especially if the opps bid some more (not that unlikely). Playing my way it is easy even if the auction gets competitive because your hand is strong enough to deal with further bidding, even if partner is bidding on the assumption that you have S+minor. I would take a reopening 3S as extremely strong and no desire to defend so it can't double. AKQTxxx x xx Axx seems like a good candidate.
  12. Curious how you would bid something like --- KQJxxx AQJxxx x same way I'm not sure I see the point, tho My point was that the bolded part was false...which you have confirmed yourself.
  13. 4H, whats the problem? We need 3 keycards for slam so presumably you aren't thinking of slam trying... are you thinking of bidding 5C fearing a tap in 4H? If so I'd say it's more likely we're just off 3 tricks and 5C is down and 4H makes.

  15. 3D, you are way too good to pass.
  16. Yeah this is a common situation where the obvious thing to do is reverse the suit orders to enable yourself to be able to show a suit and be able to bid again. In this case 4D showing hearts makes a lot of sense. Barring that you just kinda guess something. I would try 5N
  17. So I learned lobowolf is a real person recently, and was spotted at a regional! Who knew :)
  18. So whats the rule on "take your time, partner"? I always think that this is illegal when they say it but obviously I would never say anything about it. Still, coaching must be illegal, playing too fast is a problem for a lot of people, and many of them play better when they remember to take their time, so if my LHO is in a slam and my RHO tells him to take his time, it really feels wrong. This is especially true because people don't say take your time every single hand, so they probably say it on more important hands or hands they know will be harder (have you ever heard take your time, partner after 1N-3N and dummy is a 14 count? lol).
  19. Ok, well I thought it was 2452, guess I was on drugs when I read this the first time, I think 1N is fine with 2353... 2D is still terrible though!
