  1. 2nd trick, I would ruff the heart. This is the only winning line when LHO has: Axx-550 and RHO Qx-524. I strongly feel LHO has a void in clubs.
  2. My picks: 1) Zia - Robson 2) Versace - Sementa 3) Fantoni - Nunes 4) Fallenius - Welland 5) Demuy - Wolpert 6) Levin - Weinstein
  3. Player1 will dump to player 2 and split the prize What do you mean by "dumping"? There is no prize, only total-points worth some ammount of cents. Maybe calling this way of playing "a tournament" is wrong. This is a normal duplicate BFM team game where one player plays agains other in same conditions (and scores are compared in TPs, not in IMPs - to keep the existing format).
  4. People will cheat People could cheat if 3+ tables play the same board, but not if only two tables are involved. Instead of playing with GIB as partner against two GIBs, I find much more attractive (and fair) to play with GIB against 2 GIBs, comparing my own score against another player in same position with same cards. Why is this so difficult to implement?
  5. Ofcourse, but didn't you read that partner will NOT act, despite ♦ shortness and maximum values for a pass? Normally I'd pass, but since I have to bid 2 hands, and it's MP, I'll take 3NT and hope I can take advantage of opponents' weakness. If my p is so weak then he probably thinks my double should be for penalty. So, in given circumstances even double is better than 3NT. :) Anyway, I would pass no matter who my partner is. A plus score is always a plus score.
  6. IMP. All vul. ♠98x ♥KJ8xx ♦AJx ♣Kx 1♠ pass pass ???
  7. This is a clear cut pass. If we have game, partner will probably act with some 9-11 HPC. Else, we will beat them one trick or two.
  8. Although I think both ideas are worth to implement, the 2nd idea (same hand for all Souths) sounds much better to me. The only better idea I can see is to implement "tournaments" (BFM area) at two tables with same hands where one player can compete against another. Same hands, same vulnerability, same position, same opponents, only skill makes the difference...
  9. IMP. They vul. pa pa pa 1NT pa 2♦ pa 2♥ pa pa 2♠ pa pa Dbl* pa ??? * Negative, 1 or 2 spades ♠K10x ♥AQ10 ♦A9x ♣K108x
  10. pass pass 1♣ 1♦ Dbl 1♠ ... GIB interpreted my 1♠ bid as "3+D, 11 points, 5+ relay points". Is this a bug or GIB plays transfers after doubles (XX=♥, 1♥=♠, 1♠= raise)?
  11. OK. I can understand you. But, what you think about this: In the "Play bridge for money" area a new type of tournament could be introduced. One player against another. Both of them playing with 3 GIBs, on same position (say: South), with identical cards... Cheating is impossible (only 2 tables) and pure skill will always prevail. With every board finished, a score comparsion can be showed (or even the whole board in Movie section.) It sounds to me as a great idea...
  12. It is much more fun if you can compare your scores with people playing the same boards. Maybe the best solution is to run two types of BMT: one with random deals, one with same deals. So who is affraid of cheaters can play only the 2nd type. Anyway, I don't think it is so easy and efficient to cheat because the only way to do it is being logged on two computers (with different IP addresses) at the same time. In both cases you can see only the South's hand, so, a big delay is needed to find out some useful information about the hand. Thus, this for sure isn't an ellegant and profitable way to cheat. Maybe some kind of time constraint and "slow-play detectors" could help to cope with this problem. What do you think about it? Tourneys, especially money tourneys, when one South's hand picks up 22 honors and another South's hand only 5 honors doesn't make much sense because this kind of bridge becomes a gambling not a skill game. :(
  13. As I noted, playing MBT, same boards aren't played on every table... Is it possible?!? It isn't much fair if one South player plays 7NT= and another South 2H+1, for example. Will this be corrected?
  14. IMP. They vul. Suppose you play 1♦ as unbalanced so 12-14 balanced hands are opened with 1♣. 1♣ 1♠ Dbl! 2♠ pa pa Dbl* pa ?? 3♠ Dbl* pa ?? ♠Jx ♥A7x ♦A7xx ♣KJ8x ! 4+♥ (no 11 HCP if 5+♥) * Negative What do you bid after the 2nd double? What do you bid after the 3rd double, and why?
  15. IMP. None vul. ♠x ♥Kx ♦Ax ♣Q987xxxx 1♠ pass ??? If you respond 1NT, what do you bid after partner's 3♥? If you respond 2♣, what do you bid after partner's 2♥?
  16. IMP. Opps vul. ♠10x ♥A ♦Kxx ♣AK8xxxx 1♣ 1♥ 2♣ 3NT ?? Do you agree with 2♣? What do you bid on 3NT and why?

  19. Are you sure? I mean, overtake the spade queen and return a spade. You win three spades and what? I think here you win a total of three tricks, not five, much less the six you suggested, losing a spade and two clubs. Right. I meant to say: diamond (not spade) to spade ten.... etc.
  20. Solution in hidden text:
  21. IMP. We vul ♠KQJxx ♥K10xxx ♦- ♣AJx 1♥ (4♦) ??? Plan the bidding. If you bid 5♦ you will hear 5♥. What next?
  22. pass 1♦ dbl 1♠ 2♥ pass pass dbl ??? What are now: rdbl 2♠ 2NT 3♣ 3♦ 3♥?
  23. IMP. Only we vul. ♠K652 ♥Q ♦KQ72 ♣AKJ6 (1♠) pass (pass) ???
  24. MP. They vul. ♠KQJxx ♥AKxxx ♦x ♣xx 4♥ (5♦) ???
