  1. I have noticed this huge trend in slam bidding where you cuebid everything as long as it's below game and you can construct a perfecto maximum where slam makes, since cueing is "free". I don't really understand why people do this; slam bidding is just so much easier when your cuebids say "I have a pretty good hand."
  2. The 4NT is weird, but regardless, N should pass 7♠. In practice, on the run of the spades, east will pitch a club. Since he also has to pitch a heart, this will expose west to a ♥-♣ squeeze. I would say that the vast majority of East defenders would pitch that club. East can kill the squeeze by saving his club, pitching hearts instead. As for the manners, most random players on BBO are awful, both in terms of etiquette and skill. I wouldn't worry too much about the exchange.
  3. I would bid stayman but don't really have any problem with pass.
  4. Well, this is also an opponent who explained his partner's 1NT overcall as "12-15, and we play systems on". THIS GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Yes, I hate him. No, you hate his partner. :P Whereas, I think that his partner is nice, and that this guy is highly annoying. I dislike both of them pretty strongly.
  5. With a reasonable player, something like a 3♠ preempt. With a BBO pickup, ♠AJxxxxx ♥x ♦Ax ♣Qxx.
  6. I'd pass with a competent partner. With a BBO pickup though, I would just bid 6♠.
  7. 1♥ seems totally normal. 4♥ is better than either 2♥ or 3♥, I think, but it is a really swingy bid (and worse than 1♥).
  8. Well, this is also an opponent who explained his partner's 1NT overcall as "12-15, and we play systems on". THIS GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Yes, I hate him.
  9. [hv=d=w&v=n&n=sajxxhxxxdjtxck9x&s=sqtxxxxhktdaxcaxx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] (P) - P - (1♥) - 1♠ (1NT) - 2♠ - (3♥) - 3♠ All Pass Assign the blame, if any, for missing this very good vulnerable game.
  10. We'll never get a unanimous poll about a bidding decision, but let's hope we can at least get a unanimous poll about this.
  11. The last time I held 9 solid, I had to put it down in dummy. Partner converted 7♥ to 7NT .
  12. What do you do against the Woodson 2-way NT? 1) I think it's not ACBL legal (the range is legal, but not the followups), so I'm unlikely to have to deal with this in a tournament here. 2) x = penalty, obviously. 3) It sounds like such a bad agreement that I am okay with anyone playing this against me in any event.
  13. I would bid 4♦ but like jdonn, really really want to pass.
  14. I play that if it doesn't include 16, it is weak, except for goofy ranges like 11-16, which are obviously weak.
  15. Maybe, but you might pull the double to 6♣. I'd probably bid it over 5♠.
  16. 2♦ is clear. Both 6♦ and 6♠ are really silly bids. I would double 5♠ with the N hand.
  17. How would you have taken 2NT if partner had said "transfer" after you bid 2♦? This is basically what you have to pretend happened.
  18. Even Steve Robinson would open this 1♦. This hand is too good to open 5♦, and 6♦ is just going swinging.
